Odd name but it was a bait shop. The great food proved to be the better business. We were told the posole was single serving, however we split it and each had a pork taco and that was a substantial meal. The posole was wonderful with a rich chile flavor, that was not excessively hot and had an ample amount of shredded pork. It was served with half a lime and iceberg lettuce. The tacos were also excellent, cooked in a dark chile sauce, so that all they needed was a squeeze of lime. We got there early, which was good, because 10 min later the place was packed. read more

This is one those fabulous restaurants which the locals will not tell you about, because they don't want all those darned tourists cluttering up the place. We have been going to Walla Walla for years and had never heard about this place, and we heard about it from another couple from Spokane. This place is EXTREMELY no-frills. It's a bait and tackle shop, so what do you expect? However, the food is spectacular AND authentic. One of only a handful of places I have found in Eastern Washington which serves tongue, and it is magnificent. Just wonderful, and I cannot recommend it enough. read more

Veggie tacos were amazing! What a great surprise to have lunch!! Was recommended by winery folks and it was above and beyond some of the best tacos I have eaten. after having their chicken quesadilla, I knew I was in love! MMM, everything made from scratch that morning - whole chickens cooked and pulled apart.... then the chicken is stuff into this amazingly delicious little pocket of love... with cheese, lettuce and onions. I add avocado for kicks and lather it in the mild sauce they make.... writing this is making me want one right now. read more

Positively outstanding food, but it takes a bit more than that to run a good business. On June 15, 2015 for lunch the non-gentleman behind the counter accused my wife of stealing drinks out of the drink case when she had purchased the drinks separately from our tacos. She got the drinks and then decided to try a taco. at first he was concerned about the cups so he charged me 25 cents a cup for cups (that one of the ladies behind the counter offered) so that canned drinks could be iced. Ok. Also said they could not drink outside ( alcohol) even though there were three guys already outside at tables with beers. Ok that's fine I get it. We are not from here from out of state so we moved and dined in. At that point he was doing ok - a bit unfair and uptight in his customer interaction. What happened next will blow you away. After finishing our meal I walked out ahead and waited at the car for the ladies to emerge. Without me there he blocked the doorway in a confrontational way and began to berate my wife and her sister about their drinks again accusing them of not paying. They offered to show a receipt. He then said that was not the issue and that they had purchased to go, but then stayed. Wife finally asked if he wanted more money. Finally after he felt he had adequately and repeatedly belittled them and making a scene in front of a large lunch crowd he decided to settle for $5 extra for eat-in drinks. Nobody ever asked my wife and her sister if the drinks purchased were for here or to go. If this guy owns the place, and serves this world class food, then I guess he has the right to his odd rules and to be the drink Nazi. Otherwise if he is hired help, he needs to go get a job where he does not not interact with customers. World class Mexican food has no business being anywhere near the crappiest customer interaction I've ever (almost) seen. And seriously --- put up no alcohol signs around your outside dining area and enforce it equitably. And diner beware if you go there don't leave before your wife or girlfriend, cause the guy behind the counter might be a complete bully. read more

This place is definitely not CLOSED and they have the best Mexican food in town (probably the state). Try the fish tacos. Ignore the decor.

They make their own tortillas, corn and flour, as you watch. The pork adobado and the lengue burrito are fantastic. Horchata. Great picnic tables for outside on a nice day. Best food like this I've had outside of Mexico. read more

Who would think of going where they sell worms to get food? Needless to say, Dora's Deli at the Ranch is delish! My favorite is to the chicken tamales with rice and beans. Nothing fancy here, just good stick to your ribs authentic mexican food. The prices are great. If you go at lunch, plan on spending a little extra time as it gets busy with the local work crowds getting food to go. Take time to look at the bragging wall with some of the large fish caught around here. Definitely a well kept secret! read more

Great authentic mexican food in a very relaxed casual atmosphere. A well kept town secret. I feel this place is just for me when I am there.

People need to check their "authentic Mexican food" comments at the door before entering this place. This place isn't anything close. We ordered a carne asada burrito and a chicken burrito and ate there. Our "burritoes" arrived in front of us as large, open flour tortillas that they tried to fold over and secure with tooth picks - essentially a really big soft taco. It wasn't even a burrito. It was piled with iceberg lettuce and shredded cheddar cheese, not exactly authentic Mexican. (I don't know what it is about this area, but every puts iceberg lettuce in their burritoes and that is not Mexican! It's cheap filler with no flavor! Cilantro and onions please!) The meat was more boiled and not grilled, not uncommon of cheap Mexican places like this - it was expected after I saw my "burrito." Do yourself a favor and go across state lines road to Bomb Tacos - the little orange trailer on the side of the highest. That is good, authentic Mexican food! read more
