Rebecca did my bridal make up along with all of my bridesmaids, flower girl and both mothers and did a fantastic job. She executed my vision perfectly and was able to handle everyone's different personalities and skin types. I really enjoyed how Rebecca asked questions about each person and their personalty and makeup tendencies during my trial. Also, not many people can handle Asian makeup which was my main concern but Rebecca has a ton of experience with Asian brides. The makeup also stayed ALL day through the ceremony and reception - I didn't have to do anything to touch up except some lip color. My lashes last through lots of crying too. Best experience ever!!! I had to contact them rather last minute for onsite makeup for my sisters wedding. Super professional and accommodating. Day of we had Rebecca for makeup for 5ppl including the bride. She is crazy qualified, so easy to talk to, gentle, KILLER at lashes and listens-even if you are picky or aren't quite sure about something, she asks the right questions to get the info out of you. Our makeup literally held up through tornado winds, rain, SNOW, sunshine, sweat, and many tears. NO makeup running or smudging. No joke. Best part at the end of the night I took of my makeup and It was so easy to take off. Rebecca was incredible! I went to D&D for my engagement photo shoot. The airbrush technique looked incredible on the finished product. She has so many years of experience, is very friendly, and very attentive to details for how you want to look. I was thoroughly impressed with her ability to match foundations and concealer without any error! The day was warm and humid (yuck!) but my makeup looked and remained fresh despite 4 outfit changes. I had such a wonderful experience with Susan. I had my makeup done for a holiday party and tried lashes for the first time. Susan answered all my questions and did an absolutely amazing job. They. I want to start this by saying that both ladies I met were extremely nice, extremely sweet, extremely accommodating. They could be a great choice for brides, but it depends what you are looking for. I did a trial with Dorothy & Delora for my wedding. I am an Asian bride and one of the makeup artists here was recommended to me by another Asian bride, who had an awesome experience with her. It was my first time ever getting my makeup professionally done and although they were extremely courteous and sweet, the actual face of makeup I left with was underwhelming for me, especially for the high prices you pay for a trial. I will disclose that I am a big makeup junkie, so maybe my makeup expectations were higher than most people. She spent a couple minutes going through my pinterest makeup inspo page with me... but it was a very high level conversation and then she basically just dived in and winged it, not asking me any more preferential questions through the process. I had high expectations going in, and they were unfortunately not met. One of my biggest issues with my experience was that I did not feel that my artist spent enough time discussing with me my preferences. I didn't get to see my face until she was completely done. So at that point, it was really hard to go back and fix the things that I was not happy with (such as the eyeshadow color). I had another trial with another makeup company and we talked in depth for at least 30 minutes at the start of my trial and before applying anything on me, she ran everything by me (shade of blush, type of eyelashes, etc) so it was a much more interactive experience and I had more control over the end result. The artists at Dorothy Delora were both extremely nice and accommodating when I had to reschedule multiple times. I truly enjoyed meeting them both. And if you are looking for a much more natural look with light coverage, this could be a great choice. Unfortunately for me, I did not get the results I wanted... I took some pictures of myself afterwards and it looked like I had less makeup on than I do in my normal day to day (not that I wear a ton, but on my wedding day, I did want a flawless finish). My trial was before my engagement photo shoot so she definitely didn't go as dramatic as she probably would for a wedding I'm sure.. but even for just every day makeup wear I thought the makeup was lacking. I felt my skin looked shiny, but I mostly just saw my skin through the foundation (which was surprising for an airbrush). For my eye makeup, I wish they used a better liquid eyeliner (I'm not even sure if they used liquid or pencil). Overall, the people at Dorthy and Delora were really nice, but my experience was not the best. If you are looking for a more natural look, they might be a great fit for you. But if you want more coverage and stronger accentuation of your features, they may not be right. I think they could be perfect for women who typically don't wear lots of makeup. One other suggestion - I learned from another makeup artist that my experience at Dorothy Delora could have been affected by my skincare products. I use a variety of moisturizers, face oils, and serums daily (and I did so before I went in for my trial). Apparently, there are oils and moisturizers that can affect the way airbrush foundation sets on your skin. Maybe that's why my makeup looked so lackluster and moved so much after. Regardless, I think that was a risk that my artist at Dorothy Delora should have been aware of (because I did disclose what I was wearing on my face that day) and she should have known to take off my products before starting the makeup application. When I had another trial done with another makeup company, they took everything I had on my face off for this reason. They used their own moisturizer on me to make sure my makeup would apply correctly. And I had much better results. So if you do go get your makeup done (anywhere) I would go in with nothing on your face or bring makeup wipes so they can start on a blank canvas and ensure all the products they're using can mesh well together. read more

Awesome makeup lesson! When my 18 year old sister came to town to visit in June, I thought it would be fun to do something "girly" together. We both lean toward a more natural face look and wanted to learn some new techniques and spice up our looks a bit. Susan and Rebecca were so great and very knowledgeable. They provided step by step instruction at our pace and made the whole experience so much fun. The information they provided on skin care was extremely helpful. They even went through all our makeup, taking inventory of what was old, explaining what products in our kits would work for our skin, and cleaned our (dirty) brushes! After the lesson they emailed each of us a personalized summary of what was reviewed in the session, as well as all the product suggestions they made for us, based on skin type and skin tone. I've had the most wonderful experience getting a makeup lesson from these 2 lovely ladies. It started with a very easy scheduling process and incredible responsiveness when I needed to change the schedule. The space is small but lovely, with a 1940's glamour vibe, well lit and very clean. For the lesson itself, they were patient, clear and very knowledgeable. They used most of my products and recommended others only if i didn't have them. They don't sell anything, so no pressure, and their recommendations included both expensive and affordable options. They gave me a day look and showed me how to change it into a night look. They wrote down EVERYTHING and they had me do some of it right there so I can learn the technique. They took their time and made the experience a lot of fun. Pricing was also very reasonable for all the attention I received from both of them. Highly recommend the lesson. It would probably be even more fun to do with girlfriends. read more

D&D's personalized make-up class was everything I needed it to be: educational, relaxing, and not intimidating. As someone who has never felt 100% confident with make-up application and selection, I just needed to learn from an expert. And as turns out, I got to work with two! Rebecca and Susan were incredibly gracious to share their knowledge with me in a very down-to-earth environment. They guided me through the contents of my make-up bag (which was both meager and random) and then taught me proper application technique from beginning to end. At every step along the way they recommended a variety of products, individualized for my skin tones and preferences to brand and price. After a very generously timed session, I left with a new lipstick color in hand and a cheat sheet (handwritten by them) with notes to help me apply what I'd learned to revamp my routine at home. From my first inquiry I knew D&D was going to be awesome! Susan handles the emails and was very responsive to every email and even asked for some photos to give her an idea of my wedding inspiration. At my trial Rebecca, gave me a look that was flawless and timeless! The morning of my wedding Rebecca was right on time even a little early. Rebecca provided make-up for myself, my bridesmaids, and my mother/mother-in-law. She has a wonderful eye for color, respectfully listens to your requests, and moves throughout the getting-ready period of the day with a calm, collected stress-free attitude.
