I was visiting from out of town and made an appointment here for a blowout with soft curls for a black tie wedding and loved the vibe, website, descriptors, etc so chose this salon. The experience when you walk into the Trump tower is refined and elevated so of course the salon vibes were the same. I really appreciated my hair stylist, how they give you a robe to wear over your clothes, offer refreshments, etc. I intentionally chose this salon because I have color treated hair and wanted a refined blowout. The experience itself was honestly 10/10. Where my frustrations come in is the longevity of the results. My hair looked so beautiful immediately after my appointment. What I did notice during the appointment was the stylist was using L'Oréal hairspray. And honestly I didn't think anything of it because they're the experts but as I was walking back to my hotel after the appointment and glanced at my reflection in the mirror, I was shocked to see the curls had almost completely fallen out! And also my hair was frizzing up quite a bit. This is my frustration: environment: trump tower + luxurious experience + great view + Anthony Cristiano name + $110 blowout cost (before tip) does not equal L'Oréal hairspray! This equation does not add up. They use R + Co Shampoo and Conditioner which is what I would expect for a salon of this caliber but I must admit I am quite disappointed with the longevity of my results. I really thought I was going to have this beautiful , unfrizzable, elegant soft curl look that lasted the whole night but by the time I returned to my hotel my curls were gone and by the end of the night I had frizzy straight hair. Again, I think my frustration is because of the caliber of this salon and the fact that they used drug store hairspray and I had to ask for my flyaways to be tamed prior to leaving. All that to say while the experience was lovely, my closing feeling is disappointment as my results were quite lackluster. Perhaps for hair services aside from a blowout they do an exceptional job but this was not it. If you have a lot of fine hair that frizzes easily , this may not be where you want to get your blowout. Also it wasn't raining or humid! Elle is the girl you want to see for face framers, hairstyles, and keratin treatments! I (apprehensively) had an express keratin applied to my porous, course mane, and the results were greatly coveted. I anticipate continuing these treatments every three months. The express keratin was enough to seal in moisture and lose some texture, without eliminating all of my natural texture. I don't think I would request the full keratin treatment that would eliminate all of my natural texture. The express treatment was all that I hoped for, and then some! It wasn't difficult to find Anthony's studio (and I use that term deliberately). Since moving into the city, Trump Tower has glistened like the Ivory Tower in The Neverending Story, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I checked out the amenities. I made an appointment on a whim this morning and was delighted to learn that the salon's namesake (Anthony) was available for a cut as early as 10 a.m. Upon arriving, I noted that everything was "state of the art," and I could see Mr. Trump's "everything has got to be top of the line" mantra in the gleaming white salon chairs, the dark and not even slightly faded black robe hanging in my own, individual dressing room, and the understated hydrangea bunches that peeked out from the corners. I was greeted by Anthony's "assistant," Jessica, an impossibly lovely young woman who would look more at home between the covers of Vogue than in a midwestern salon. But rather than putting on airs, she set me at ease with her hospitality. I realized that, at bottom, this salon was part of that nearly extinct tradition of hospitality that once marked the greatest of hoteliers--this subtle distinction is just one of the things that sets Anthony Cristiano's apart from other "salons." I arrived at 9:50. Anthony's assistant washed, blow dried, and ironed my hair before Anthony so much as picked up a pair of scissors. He had me stand behind the chair, while he sat on a step stool to cut the back of my hair. "Cutting" is, however, such a deficient term for what Anthony does. Although he was rather chatty with the client right before me, he worked wordlessly with me, and it became clear within just a few minutes that Anthony considered each hair on my head and what role it would play in the overall vision he had for me. He employed surgical precision with executing that vision, but his hands were always gentle and sensitive. In the end, I felt like he was painting a portrait--not just cutting hair. At the 3/4 mark, I asked if I could get a sip of the water that Jessica had left for me at the outset, and he said, "I'm sorry, of course or course. Sometimes, it gets a little intense, because I get so focused...." Was it any wonder that by the time he was putting the finishing touches on my brand new hair, I was eyeing the other women in the salon with something that felt a lot like jealousy? "Beautiful, beautiful," he kept saying to me, and though I'm certain he says this to all his clients, perhaps it was his charming accent that made the words particularly tailored for me. It was well after noon before I finally walked out the door. Though my wallet was quite a bit lighter, Anthony left me feeling like a million bucks. Worth every penny. read more

My friend constantly goes to Anthony Christiano, and I was anticipating my haircut at the salon. I came right on time at 5:00 pm, and was told that a hairstylist will be with me shortly. Front desk is very nice, they offered a cup of cappuccino which was definitely a good touch. But! I ended up waiting for more than 20 min. When my hairstylist came in, Yasmine, she apologized for the delay, but said: "I'm so sorry, we are so busy today" - I couldn't help answering: "well, that's why people make appointments, right?" I think she should have offered complimentary service or discount, but that didn't occur to her. She did fine job, nothing special. I really was disappointed when I was charged $150 for simple haircut. I know this place is fancy and yadayada, but really - didn't worth the experience. I have been to dozen places all around the world. Not up to the high end level. I ended up exceeding my parking meter time and had to pay extra $4. Because of her delay! Not nice, was definitely expecting to be pampered properly for the money. UPD: I added extra star, as the haircut turn out to look good on my curly hair! For reference -- I traveled from Washington DC to New York City for 6 years for color because I am that picky. I have been to every upscale salon in search of something so seemingly simple as buttery blonde highlights , finding a reputable hair salon to achieve this task is harder for some if they have red undertones apparently.I have tried many popular 4 star salon's and remaining painstakingly loyal to each to no avail. I was expecting something completely different and was pleasantly surprised that the colorist i chose ,Todd was very down to earth and confident in what he was doing along with having a sense of humor ,the end result was beyond my wildest dreams and i have been a loyal patron here for years. I also timidly ventured much later to actually trust someone here enough to trim my hair.Kaylyn is a gem and will be delicate and mindful ,with those traumatized with bad past hair cutting experiences. The undertone and energy here is minus the attitude and drama with the exception of an occasional snooty receptionist ,it is everything and then some of exactly what a salon should be. The seats when getting your hair washed is so comfortable and something i have never seen done right until now . Also...another detail ...the towels do NOT have that unmistakable musty smell ..you know the smell... And the bathroom is sparkling clean with fresh flowers . I previously worked as a licensed Cosmetologist for many years on Michigan Avenue. I can honestly say that I have never found someone better than Heinz to cut and style my hair! Heinz is such a perfectionist, always making sure that every piece of hair lays perfect! And see Jay if you want awesome highlights! They are both so patient with my long wavy hair. Even when my hair grows out (for months sometimes), I still get so many compliments on the cut and color. My only complaint is political, I wish they were located in any other building in this great big beautiful city. I highly recommend this salon! From the moment I walked in and was greeted, my experience was superb! The place is located on the mezzanine level at the trump tower (by rebar) and has a nice view of the river. My stylist was Kristen and she was great! She was fun, energetic and provided excellent service! She sat me down first to discuss what I wanted and then had me shampooed and dried. She trimmed hair quickly and efficiently but I never felt like she was rushing. This girl knows hair! Definitely don't recommend! Went on Monday and regretting my decision. Hulan who cut my hair was super sweet but she does not listen. I asked for a basic trim and she gave me what she called a "modern haircut" which meant the front was longer than the back. I went back on Thursday cause I hated it and asked for her to make it all one length and to make sure the front is not longer than the back. I don't know how many more ways I could have said it but she still left the front longer. All she did was cut off one or two inches so I gave up and said it was good. Don't waste your money here. Todd for color and Lynnae for cut and style! They are purely Amazing!!! This salon is so worth it after how great both Todd and Lynnae made me look. I had gotten a horrible bayalage color at another hair salon and Todd was able to completely fix it. I'm still in shock as to how he transformed my hair from looking like a cheap mess to gorgeous hollywood hair. Then Lynnae gave me a beautiful haircut and was even kind enough to give me a little lesson on how to curl my hair with an curling iron. Also, the two receptionist were very sweet and helpful upon my arrival. I literally almost started crying when my hair was all done because I've never had my hair look so pretty. I felt glamorous and I'm not exaggerating. This place lived up to all the great things I read about it. I can't thank them all enough for the wonderful experience I had after suffering the nightmare I had with my hair at another salon. When I had my hair cut by Anthony Cristiano, he assured me that he could cut hair extensions well. During the cut I expressed my concern that he was cutting too much off, he told me I was wrong and he must "cut it right the first time or it is never right". This was a costly mistake for me. Anthony makes my hair feel important. And as someone who has long hated her hair, that's an impressive feat. When doing both hair and color, he and his team of cutters always do a joint consultation with the colorist and you to discuss what you want to do and ensure that the color approach / techniques will complement the cut. For a more moderate price point than Anthony, Joseph is *amazing* and has worked with Anthony for over 10 years. On the color side of the house I have seen 3 people, my favorite is Anna - beautiful color, she and Darrin interpreted what I said I wanted into the perfect cut and color for me. I did have one instance 2 years ago when I wasn't happy wth the color. I told the receptionist and received multiple calls from Anthony's wife to make sure the issue was addressed to my satisfaction. I literally had the best experience here today! I went to another salon recently and they made my hair bleach blonde. That look is great on some people, but definitely not on me! Todd was my colorist and he was so warm and welcoming. He methodically planned out how to fix my bad dye job and then went to town! What a wonderful experience! I am new to Chicago and needed to find a new hair salon...I hit a home run when I found Anthony Cristiano on Yelp! First of all, the salon is located in the Trump Tower...so you know that you are going to be walking into something special. When I entered the Trump, I walked to the desk and explained that I had an appointment at the Salon, and this was my first time in the building. He immediately walked from behind his desk and showed me around the lobby of the hotel and then took me to the elevator banks that led to the salon. Then, when I walked into reception area of the salon, the receptionist took my coat, offered me something to drink, and said that she would notify the stylist that I had arrived. Customer service LIVES!! My colorist, Todd, came to fetch me and took me into the salon area. WOW!!! This place is straight out of a magazine! It is so obvious that EVERY detail of this salon was thought out. This ain't your average salon! Absolutely stunning views of the Chicago Riverfront and downtown Chicago. Todd sat me in the chair and started the consultation. He asked me several questions, ensuring me that my expectations were achievable. Then, he brought Heinz over to my chair to meet me. Heinz styled my hair after Todd finished the highlights. Heinz too asked me me questions and said he would make sure I was satisfied. Again, I have to emphasize the customer service. Todd asked me if he could get me a beverage while he mixed the color. Then he started the foil process, with his assistant Elizabeth. Elizabeth helped Todd and also washed my hair, telling me exactly what she was putting on my hair with each step. My color was perfect! My blowout and style were perfect! My anxiety of finding a new salon were left behind as soon as I walked into Anthony Cristiano. The atmosphere of this salon is so comforting. Every single person working there had a quick smile, and couldn't have been more helpful. You absolutely know that you are in a professional atmosphere surrounded by people who give you their full attention and want you to have a good experience while they work their magic. I observed other stylists cutting hair with such precision and detail that amazed me. Some other tidbits--remember I said that every detail has been seen to?
