The Wilson Rec Center is pretty central to campus and has student recreational activities. The pool is in the rear and is the only thing I saw. You can enter in front or rear for the aquatic complex. The building itself looks like "Duke". The brownstones are spectacular. Parking is reserved pretty much all around the building I found the visitors lot which is about a 3/4 mile walk. The area was clean and impeccably maintained. The aquatic complex is not as old as the building dating to possibly turn of the century. However it's no spring chicken either. Possibly built in the late 60's, not ruling out 70's. The pool and deck are maintained. Only faculty, staff and the swim and dive are permitted to use outside of special permission. My son enjoyed the pool. Although not a new pool it has underwent a couple of renovation projects over the decades. The most recent was around 11 years ago. The 25 yard pool with diving well is a nice set up for competition. Duke competes in the ACC Conference. The complex offers a compact spectator area on one side. Most reading this review will never get the opportunity to use the pool and probably never even see it. My son absolutely loved his time on campus and who knows could be a Blue Devil.

Thankfully they have Poweraid too because it was literally 98 degrees and I had been drinking beer all day. The Durham Bulls have the benefit of being the background for the famous movie with Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon, so they definitely have the gift shops with the merchandise. 2 of my buddies bought "Lollygaggers" shirts. I really enjoyed the food and experiencing the game for the first time. The stadium was really nice. The seating was roomy and comfortable. The entertainment and music was enjoyed as well. The staff there were nice and welcoming. I had the chance to see, meet and take a photo with The Durham Bulls mascot Wool E. Bull.

There are tennis courts, pickleball courts, swimming and diving pools, outdoor rock climbing walls, a gym, an outdoor basketball court, disc golf, beach volleyball, a clubhouse, playground, three shelters (pavilions) with wooden tables and benches, and more. Actually, it's more like a private park than a private country club. In terms of how nice The Farm is, I'd say it's on a public park level. When I saw The Farm is private, I was thinking it would be nicer and perhaps higher-end. Instead, it felt more like a small city park that happens to be private. My wife has been here multiple times for various UNC events. I attended one of the events with her. It took place at The Farm's clubhouse, the adjacent pavilion, and the playground. It was a family-friendly event. Parents brought their children who played on the playground. Food and drink were set up inside the clubhouse's kitchen. The clubhouse and overall grounds and facilities that I saw were modest. The shelter had string lighting lining the ceiling. The tables had a lot of what looked like dried-up paint/finger paint on them, presumably from kids' activities. It makes sense since the playground was right next to us. Also nearby was a bunch of bamboo which made for a good backdrop for group photos. During our Saturday afternoon visit, I saw people playing beach volleyball and the pool(s) looked busy. The Farm is located east of UNC campus, not far from the Chapel Hill-Durham border. It's off 54, accessible via Barbee Chapel Rd, just past UNC Finley Golf Course. It's due south from the Rizzo Center (south side of 54).

There is a lot in front of the building but we didn't want to pay to park. Had we read the entire sign, we would have noticed that parking for the center during the day was free. See my pic. Our event was in the downstairs space. There were tables set up and it was a good space for the event. Restrooms were close by. The ladies room had a terrible smell. I went in quickly to wash my hands only. The space in general looked nice. But I can't comment on anything they have to offer for Durham seniors.

Decent park located right next to Fayetteville Elementary, so be warned it gets noisy during…read morerecess. The park includes two gated basketball courts, a grill and small picnic shelter with picnic tables. Field lights and eight gated tennis courts with bathroom and water fountain. A small playground which is slightly separated from the rest of the park (by trees). If you don't live ON the American Tobacco Trail, it might seem overwhelming to find an access point. However, Elmira Avenue Park could make for a convenient place to park and run. There's direct greenway access to Rocky Creek Trail, which will lead you to about the 2 mile point on the ATT. What makes me second guess this park is it's location. There are so many regularly trafficked very safe feeling parks, and Elmira isn't one of them. It's proximity to a lower socioeconomic demographic leaves me feeling slightly on edge and very aware of my surroundings. Overall, this wouldn't be a park I'd spend a lot of time at, but makes for a good spot to know about if you need to stop along the ATT in case of bathroom, water or parking needs.

Great scoreboard to keep track of individual matches and team total point scoring. Parking is close by. They do have a parking lot right by the stadium, but that is for card or pass holders. When I was there watching the match, the Blue Devils supplied lunch for everyone. Nice gesture. Also video is set up on each play court for remote viewing.
