If it's a really busy game, they sometimes have you park in the far lot - but it's still not a bad walk! All the lower level seats are great. Upper isn't too bad either! read more

Loved watching the soccer match here, it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was really buzzing for the game. Love this sports venue! Every seat in the place is close to the action. Ample safe parking with easy to follow parking attendants. Parking was $10, but we had an electronic parking pass. Our tickets were also electronic and were scanned from our phone. Security and staff were super friendly and seemed very laid back. Limited food and beverage choices. We had Michelob and Shot Gun Betty--cold beers cost $7/$8 each and local peanuts in the shell. We watched the storm clouds darken and roll in dumping lots of water as we ran to shelter near the concession stand. The clothing sales booth conveniently sold rain ponchos among other team shirts, tervis cups, hats, scarves and more. Great talent on the well maintained field. Once the rain passed, we dried off our seats (yes I bring a beach towel) and enjoyed the cooler temperature. read more

This soccer park is home to the NC Courage and NCFC! There have been a few opportunities to catch a US Women's and Men's National Team game here too. The stadium is nice. My biggest complaint is that they are not able to handle a larger crowd which typically only happens for the USWNT or USMNT games. I've experienced that during these games the tailgating area has lacked a decent amount of porta potties, parking has been an issue and they have not been adequately stocked with enough concessions. Looking on where to sit at a decent rate? The north and south stands are cheap and lively but seeing the entire field is an issue. My personal favorite sections are 307-304, they are close to midfield, concessions, beer, restrooms and the entrance/exit. I know that we are trying to bring the MLS to the 919 but the Courage are who I come to see! You can see Dahlkemper, Mathias, Mewis, Dunn, Zerboni and more! read more

Pretty decent venue for professional soccer in the Triangle. It's a big complex with several pitches (I guess for tournaments) but also a stadium where the local professional men's and women's teams play. You have to pay to park but I also noticed several cars parked on a side road across the street. The women's team right now is better than the men's and features some World Cup players (both for the U.S. and other countries). I believe their crowds are larger than the men's as well, unless the men are playing a friendly with a foreign team -- then it can be packed. There are lots of families and soccer teams here, and a fun section of loud fans cheering on the local teams. Not a bad way to spend an evening. read more

Concessions in 2023 suck. I attended first NCCourage game in May and a new company must be in place and their goal is obvious -- make a quick buck. The menu is simple now. No bbq, ribs, etc, only burgers and hotdogs and expensive canned beer. $6 for burger that comes with bun and NO condiments (onions, tomatoes, lettuce, etc). Insultingly, they try to force you to tip! At a lousy concession! Avoid! Embarrassing for NC but local officials have single focus, which is obvious. read more

This was my first time at the soccer stadium which I was really looking forward to experiencing since I'm originally from Texas. I came to see the Houston Dynamo vs North Carolina FC in a open cup match. I loved the path that led to the stadium because it simply was beautiful. I am a supporter of RGV FC which might have the best USL stadium but this one has a much smaller community feel to it. The game was great and the crowd was a great group of friends that support their local team which is always great for the growth of the sport in this country. I hope they continue to grow and that they one day can be part of major league soccer. I recommend coming to the stadium to watch a match to anyone that might be in town because it sure is a great experience! read more

A great place to enjoy watching a soccer game. Parking is ample and the distance between your car and stadium is a breeze. They are currently expanding the seating, so watch the signs for the best of the two entrances to use based on your seat location. Most seats are only accessible from the lower / second entrance that just down the front side on the right. I personally sitting in the main stadium section because it puts your back to the setting sun... much easier on the eyes! read more

We were here for the NCHSAA Girls LAX Championships this past weekend. This complex is very nice! Overall, a solid four stars. Pros: Beautiful Field and a beautiful practice field Not a bad seat in the house Actual seats with backs on home side Good sound - very clear Scoreboard - amazing - clear picture Plenty of restroom facilities Kona Ice Truck and Ice Cream Truck set up Cons: Parking - seemed unorganized - we parked up on the hill while others parked right down by the fields -no reasoning whatsoever - it just seemed they would park you wherever they felt like. Restrooms - No paper towels in men's room Concessions- Candy a little pricey - I got a pack of Swedish Fish $2.00 that had about 12 fish in them (if that) - $1.50 I could see paying...Water was $3.00 each (average going rate I suppose). read more

Wakemed is a really beautiful and peaceful space. I have attended a 5K here, and it has really nice, well-shaded trails/paths. I have also attended NC courage games here. The stadium is pretty quaint, and parking is really easy. It is quick and smooth to leave the stadium after games as well. The concessions are your usual sports concession food at pretty reasonable prices. However the lines are a real gridlock so don't count on getting snacks without missing part of your game. The seats are just your basic bleachers, so if you have hip issues like me, BYO cushion. Knocking off a star due to the box office. I won ticket vouchers, and it said to redeem them in person at the box office or over the phone. Their website claims that the box office is open during regular business hours every weekday. My boyfriend went on a Monday to redeem them, and there were no signs of any one there. I called a few of the numbers on the website, and kept getting the "this person has not set up their voicemail box" message. Fortunately we already had tickets to a different game and were able to redeem our vouchers at the box office the night of that game. However, if we didn't already have plans to attend a different game, I have no idea how I would have redeemed my vouchers. read more

Nice fields, but PARKING is a disaster. Came here on Saturday morning to watch my brother run in a race. As I inched closer to the entrance, the more insane and slow it got. There were cars running off the road and parking in the grass, people filling up the company lots across the street, and traffic build-up on both sides. I attempted to find outside parking since traffic was not moving at all -- the traffic cops were letting these HUGE tour buses turn in. As for my hunt, it was frantic, stressful, and my car almost got hit about 5 times. I gave up after driving back and forth a couple times, my blood pressure skyrocketing in the process. I managed to enter from the right, which happened to be moving faster than the left. It's $5 for parking during events, so have your cash ready. After a slow moving drive into the huge sectioned lot, I managed to snag a grass-space. It was about a 5-minute walk to the race field. As for leaving the soccer park, it was insanely slow. It took 15 minutes+ to get out. ****Don't park at businesses across the street or in the grass or you'll get TOWED. I did see a tow truck driving away with a van. Oops. Cops were on the look out -- not sure if they were issuing tickets, but they were hanging out in the outside business' parking lots and warning people about the towing. read more

All I can say is wow! What a great facility. The Carolina RailHawks brought me over to Cary and WakeMed Soccer Park on Wednesday. I'd never been to this park or to see the RailHawks play before. This Park is a huge multi-use facility operated by the Town of Cary. Like all places I go to, I try to learn as much about them as I can. Be aware that it costs $5 to park, but there is plenty of parking available all around. The park hosts professional soccer matches, college and high school tournaments and other events throughout the year. The fields are used for soccer, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, and many others along with the track for running. WakeMed Cary Hospital has naming rights to the soccer park itself and this is obvious by all the different advertisements. Of course, the most well known use is for the RailHawks. Apparently there is permanent stadium seating for 7,000. Crazy! We had tickets to the area to the right of the announcement box. Great seats. Doesn't appear to be a bad view from any area which I determined by my walking around and checking the place out. However, not too long after sitting there, my group was invited to the VIP box. Off we went to VIP. Nice cool area inside the suite, with plenty of seating up front as well. For those not in VIP, there are quite a few options for food. There's a taco stand, lemonade stand, smoothie stand, and you can of course find your typical hot dogs and fries as well. Near the entryway there's also an area where you can buy apparel for the RailHawks or whatever event is going on. Definitely go catch a game or attend an event at this park. Most enjoyable and not hard to find at all! read more

A bunch of nice soccer fields, and the Raleigh Rail Hawks play at the stadium. This review is for the cross country 5k loop that surrounds the outside of the park. I run here twice a week and its a moderate run with mile/kilometer markings to give you an idea of how far you run. The local high schools use this course on Wednesdays during the fall semester for their cross county meets, so its a good course, but really really busy on Wednesdays. read more

I went to the Railhawks vs West Ham game and it was a great, entertaining game. Wakemed Soccer Park has come a long way since it first opened many years ago. The facility has vastly improved and expanded. It seats about 8,000 people and there really isn't a bad seat in the stadium. pretty much every seat is in the lower level besides on upper level section in the middle. The lighting is also very good and you have a great view of the stadium. I have also played soccer on the surrounding fields, and the grass is very well maintained. It's definitely one of the better soccer parks in the Raleigh area. There are many recreational soccer games going on here every weekend as well as various tournaments and of course Railhawk games. Overall, Wakemed is a great soccer park with awesome grass and a very nice soccer specific stadium. read more

It is a shame that soccer in the triangle has to endure this stadium. The complex is beautiful and there is nothing wrong with the seating or the field. It is a great place to tailgate an NCFC or NC Courage game. The NC Courage were awesome to watch this season, and it is definitely worth enduring WakeMed to see them! But you should be prepared for a few things. This stadium is clearly designed to operate at half-capacity. If you attend a game that is close to sold out, many aspects become miserable. I have attended a few regular season NCFC/NC Courage games here, but after attending the USWNT friendly against South Korea, the minor annoyances became huge drawbacks when the stadium was full. First of all parking is a mess. You expect some degree of waiting to leave any sporting event, but this was ridiculous. There are only two exits to the park, and I've seen Carter-Finley empty out quicker after an NC State football game. Even entering to park took some time. I wish I could rate the concessions, but I've never been able to get any. There are max 10 vendors and ONE concessions stand in the entirety of WakeMed. At a regular season game (not full), I have left before the first half ended and waited in line only to have the second half start before being able to order. I have never been in a slower moving concessions line; I hope they are cooking to order here. At the USWNT friendly, the concessions and ALL vendors had run out of bottled water well before halftime. Good thing they made us throw away our water bottles. By halftime there was only Cheerwine and Mountain Dew (mostly Code Blue) left. The NC Courage (and soccer in general here) have been experiencing a huge surge of popularity (and well deserved too). But some changes are necessary if they want to take advantage of this. read more

WakeMed Soccer Park is the home of the Carolina Railhawks, a team in the 2nd tier of the North American Soccer pyramid (for reference, MLS is Tier 1). It's a nice little park, designed for good fun all around. Advantages: no bad seats in terms of viewpoint, fun crowds and atmosphere, the mascot throws T-shirts at you, the Railhawks are pretty good (they've beaten 2 MLS teams in the last 3 weeks), and the beer and food are reasonably priced ($5 cans of Stella, Landshark, Red Hook, and something called "Bud Light"). Disadvantages: The parking situation's a little nutty (though it's not terribly bad to get in and out), the seats are a little cramped in the midsection and hard to move in/out of. Overall, this is a nice place to watch a game, especially if you settle into seats that aren't too cramped. read more

As far as soccer parks go Wakemed is ok. I've been here a handful of times for soccer games and the stadium they have there is pretty nice for the size crowds they have in attendance. All of the seats give you a great view of the field but the sunset can really suck if you are in the East Stands. There is easy access to the bathrooms and the insanely over priced food vendors. The only other drawback is maybe the parking which can get crowded in a hurry and getting out of there is a holy nightmare as both exits dump you on to East Chatham Rd which is already a high traffic route for the locals as it is. read more

Went to the park tonight to see the USA Women's team play Panama. Took almost an hour to get from the corner of E Chatham & Maynard into the parking lot, so we missed the first 4 goals and were finally seated a few minutes before halftime. The stands were nowhere near full, so I can only conclude this place just does not have the infrastructure and logistics to support an event of this size. Left halfway into the 2nd half because I could not imagine what trying to get out at the end of the game would have entailed. Worse experience than trying to get to a U2 concert several years ago at Carter-Finley. Will never go again, sad that Cary is totally incapable of hosting an event like this. read more

I'm told, well-groomed fields if you're playing. But from a spectator's perspective, they seem pretty great too: well-lit fields, and bleachers with good viewing for games. Parking is on the grassy expanse outside of the fields, and never a problem, though you do you have to pay for access. The stadium has standard 'ballgame' food fare; personally, I'd love to see more of a local beer selection. But all in all, it's an affordable -- and enjoyable -- date- or family night read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I attended a Railhawks game here a few weeks ago. The facility is well kept and there was a good variety of food and drink choices. I was glad that the food was not overpriced just because it was a sports venue. There were burgers, chicken fingers, hot dogs, nachos, etc. at one stand and then also a cart with some Mexican food. There seemed to be all types of drinks including a lemonade cart and at the alcohol stands, they actually had a good variety of wines! As I walked up to the stand, I was trying to figure out the lesser evil of the three beers I thought were my only choices, but it turned out that I was able to get a white wine of my choice...YAY! The wine was $5 and my cheeseburger was $5, both very reasonable and delicious! read more

A great park for sports. There's a world class cross country loop that you can run around and perfectly groomed soccer fields as far as the eye can see. The park is the home of the Carolina Railhawks too and there games are awesome and reasonably priced. read more

I'm a big supporter of the US Men's and Women's National teams, but mainly the Women. When I heard the team was coming to Cary for an international friendly against Switzerland, I had to get tickets as soon as possible. Good thing I bought tickets pre-sale because tickets sold out within one day. Heading to the park was smooth and we got decent parking. It was $10 a car. I'm not sure if this standard or only when big time or national teams come into town. I did see some people park in the neighborhood and walk over. There was a huge line getting into the park and I was somewhat concerned about missing the start of the game. Security and line management was mess. First they told us to go to the south gate and security told us that we couldn't go through this entrance which annoyed me because it caused us to lose our spot in the main line. But they were ordered to open the gates even though they didn't have any scanners. They just ended up ripping our ticket stubs off. Once we were inside, it was smooth sailing. No wait in line for food and I thought the food was decently priced. Our seats were awesome - section 504 row A seats 4 and 5. It was great we didn't need to deal with anyone in front of us and you have a great view of the entire field. Overall I had a fun time watching the game especially with USA winning. Leaving the park was a mess. If you didn't leave the park as soon as the game is over, it could easily be a 2+ hour wait depending where you park. Luckily we parked near an exit and was able to leave in less than hour after some crafty maneuvering (and maybe cutting off some cars). I don't think you have an issue if you go to a Railhawks game but most definitely when the national team comes in. read more

Attended a U-14 match today to watch my adopted niece play and I was impressed with the whole operation; great pitch, good referees, quality Soccer. As a former player, it warmed my heart to watch both teams play at a fairly high level, competing, and having fun. Tribute to both Coaches, the League, and the Parents. It truly is a great venue, not just for the Railhawks, but also Youth Soccer. Made me want to lace up my boots, or at least grab a Coaches whistle...I look forward to attending another game in the near future. read more
