Dorrie's is pretty new to that area so at 1st I thought I had the wrong place because their name isn't on the sign. They are sharing the space with another business. So there's gaming and a full bar offered. Everyone I encountered was nice. I do recommend ordering in advance if u don't plan to eat their or in a rush. I went around the time they opened and it took about 20 mins for me to get food. I also ate their. The oxtail philly was really good. Enough to take home for leftovers. Surprisingly, I rewarmed it in the oven and it wasn't as great as when I first bit into it. I would like to patronize it more but it is a bit too far for me. I took this trip sorry to try it and support.

I've been influenced! My man's Foxcito has posted a couple videos of this place and made it sound so exquisite. I was out in the Grove running some errands and decided to stop in. This is a new spot that could be easy to miss due to lack of signage, but since they're clearly new, I'm sure signage is in the works. The inside was very clean with about 7-10 tables. There looked a well stocked bar. If it hadn't been just 11:00, I would have probably indulged. The customer service was top notch. The owner happened to be at the register and gave a very thorough breakdown of the menu. I came specifically for the oxtail Philly because who can resist delicious oxtails. The sandwich was massive and I had enough for two meals easily. I also got some of the butter cookies....these are a MUST ORDER! Seriously don't leave without these. I'll definitely be back

I had the Oxtail Philly and man o man was I impressed. It's a 30$ sandwich, stuffed with meat ,mixed bell peppers and provolone cheese. So much meat it was falling off with each bite . Worth every dime . Located in Elk Grove village on Devon and Tonne rd . There's more on the menu to try , but when a sandwich is this good how can you try anything else . It's a bit of a hole in the wall with a full bar , video gaming , and plenty of seats . Don't let this sandwich pass you by .

Drove 50 minutes for this place and it was worth the hype. Get the Oxtail Philly and order it early bc it will sell out. It just melts in your mouth and is a great combo with the sweet potato fries. The honey sriracha wings were amazing too.

These Honey Siracha wings are so delicious that I haven't had time to try the other dishes on the menu. Really nice. They look as good as they taste.

1st off NO SIGN saying they are DORRIES (that was weird) Food was decent but prices were crazy! Add chicken for $5 to a wrap which was like 8 pieces of chicken SMH. The pasta was pretty good and portions on that was great, everything else was mediocre.

I love that there are unique Southern dishes like chicken and waffles, Southern fried chicken, and shrimp and grits. The coffee is hot, strong and accompanied by cute little baskets with individual creamers. The pancakes are super fluffy and served with a warm bottle of syrup. I am not a big fan of hot sauces as I don't eat spicy foods but had to dip a bite of chicken in the jalapeno hot sauce. It was really tasty and a tolerable amount of heat. I look forward to returning and trying even more versions of waffle or egg dishes here.

The frappe was also really good. My friend ordered the avocado toast, which she liked, but her caramel macchiato was off at first it tasted mostly like milk with a little caramel. They did fix it though, so I'll give them credit for that. Only downside was she ended up feeling like she got food poisoning afterward. The egg on her dish had a thin film on it, so we're thinking it might not have been fully cooked, which is concerning. Service itself was good and the staff was nice. Parking was also easy, which is always a plus. Good food overall, but that situation definitely threw things off a bit.

Seriously! So, imagine my surprise when I found out they had a restaurant on Irving Park Road in Wooddale - and I would occasionally pass it going to and from work! Well, it was time to try it for lunch today. There wasn't a big line of people, but boy did the food smell like barbecue when I walked in! I quickly ordered the two meat combo with chopped brisket and pulled pork. I got the green chili, Mac and cheese as a side, as well as the classic coleslaw. All right - the ambience was just perfect for a small barbecue place. The food came quickly, but I noted it wasn't quite right. I had asked for chopped brisket not sliced brisket. Not a crime against humanity, true, but still I didn't complain and I decided to go ahead and eat it anyway. So how was it? Well, I slathered on sweet rays barbecue sauce, and ate like crazy. The meat was pretty darn good! The green chili mac & cheese was delicious- can't say that the coleslaw was to my taste, but there was nothing wrong with it. The cornbread was fantastic. The only reason for the demerit? Was that I ordered chopped brisket and got sliced. Will I come here again? Yes, yes I think I shall! And I think you should try it too if you like barbecue.

The restaurant is small, with limited seating, but brightly decorated and immersive on the surf decor. I ordered the fish n chips, and they let me know it would be about 12 minutes, because they make everything fresh. No problema, dude. Beach Boys, surf music and other mellow tunes play overhead while you wait. It wasn't long at all, and I was presented with three (3!!!) crisply battered fish filets on a mound of seasoned shoestring fries. It was hot (prepared to order, remember), and delicious. The fries were awesome as well. I thought it was a little pricey, but the portions were large and I had plenty to take away. My fish was delish -- and I'd be glad to come back and try some of the other combos. The people who worked here were chill and friendly. Good vibrations!

This is a cute little restaurant with a few tables, window seats and seating along the wall. With the weather being nice there are tables outside too. Hubby and I wanted some seafood and we passed by Surf's Up a few times so it's long overdue for us to stop and try the food today. The owner, Lisa, was working behind the counter. She is so sweet and certainly very proud of her restaurant! We asked her for recommendations and she was happy to share some of the top preferred items of guests. She gave us time to look over the menu. I settled on the fried catfish dinner with a side of grits, greens & a roll. Hubby wanted fish and chips with a roll. Lisa told us that everything is made fresh to order so it would be about 15-20 mins. We weren't in any hurry, but we appreciated the heads up and the fact that it was all freshly made. The food arrived crispy and hot and oh so delicious! My catfish was so flakey. The grits and greens were the perfect sides to go with it. Hubs really enjoyed his fish and chips. The fries were so good, we couldn't stop eating them. Lisa also sold us on the fresh bread pudding, but we so full so we had to take it go. Just finished it tonight and it was even more delicious than she described! We will certainly be returning to try the shrimp po' boy and other items on her menu! Plus more bread pudding. Don't pass up this cute little place with delicious fresh seafood and desserts plus friendly service.

But I entered the soul food circus. The parking lot!!! As much money as they bring in it is night time to refigure the parking situation. It's cramped, no flow of in and out and it takes forever to get out. Or in. Once in, I waited to place the order but there was so much chaos! Wrong orders, orders never made, customers ordered items, waited only to be told the item they had been waiting on was sold out, changed the item and wait some more. Door dash and pickups were extremely chaotic and the waiting room was crowded. One woman was literally waiting 30 min on an extra order of potato salad. It seems like ordering ahead did not help cut down on anyone's wait time. I had no issues with staff. They remained professional in the midst of this chaos but I would just like to see more organization to their set up!!! I truly want to support local, especially POC, but I can't waste any more time hoping for them to get it together or revamp their systems. I can't speak to the taste of the food because I only order cornbread. After today, Jiffy Mix will be back in rotation because I can't handle this much chaos and stress.
