I can always find something I'm interested in for $10 or less. Jerry's is a third place to me. It's a must visit every time I'm back in Pittsburgh! Jerry's is estimated to have over 500,000 records. Here's what I've learned from my two years in Pittsburgh to help sort through the collection: 1. Best sellers are located upfront. Normally there's a few of each artist: The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rush, Aerosmith, and many more. Price range between $20-60 2. For people starting out, Jerry's has a lot of well known albums and artists for $7-8 a record. Common finds: Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Santana, REO Speedwagon, Jefferson Starship/Jefferson Airplane, Elton John, STYX, and Chicago. 3. Huge Christmas selection in the $3-20 range. They likely have what you're looking for. My boyfriend's mom was looking for Christmas with Mitch for many years. She found 8 copies at Jerry's Records in less than 15 minutes. 4. There's a large Broadway and musical soundtrack section tucked in the corner down the first hallway on the right. Normally they are about $5-15. 5. Before checking out, look at the record and sleeve for damages. From experience, most priced above $7 play really well. They may have a few crackles, but a quick wash takes most of that away. Things in the $3 range are risky.

The shelves are packed…read morefloor-to-ceiling with an incredible mix of hidden treasures, rare finds, and classic paperbacks that you can easily lose an hour browsing through. They have a fantastic "buy three, get one free" deal that always convinces me to grab just one more book than I originally planned. Plus, the fact that they have an awesome vinyl collection means you can hunt for records and books at the same time. The staff is always laid-back and friendly, making it a staple spot to hit up whenever you're hanging out in Squirrel Hill or downtown.

It was mostly organized, as in things were labeled and in generally the right area, but not really. Mostly I was annoyed by the selection. Whenever I travel, I visit a bookstore. All the books were oversized, so they won't travel well or easily. The selection was meager and it wasn't quite textbooks or books even books worth buying. The prices are too excessive for book quality and selection. Nothing amazing about this place, except maybe location?

The owner is knowledgeable, friendly & provides quality comics at a reasonable price. For over a decade, my husband and I have shopped at this store off and on. During our most recent visit on a Saturday, this store had lots of customers. The selection of books and other products, of course, is much smaller than what we find online from online retailers, but it is still a decent assortment, and we often find some products to buy for moderate prices. Most recently I found lap desks that I liked for $30-60. This store also has a cafe, although I do not recall ever eating there. Overall, this Barnes & Noble is a nice place where people--both adults and children--can spend some time discovering new books, movies, music, and games. Sometimes you need to see products in person rather than online to know if you like them or not.

This place is great--the selection of pay-what-you-want books is really interesting, and the second floor is filled with an eclectic mix of books, from religion and philosophy, to medicine, to poetry, to geography-specific books. I always like to peruse the medical books, where you may find a new(er) book about updated technologies, or old hygiene guides from 1921. I never know what you're going to find when I go, but I'm always happy with my visit. They do have an online system that allows you to search for specific books, but I've never used it. The people who run the shop are nice and always happy to help. I will definitely be returning in the near future.
