I will start by saying the food was great as always, but our service was very bad. we have been going to Dos Charros since moving back to Mineola in March 2025. We had always had good service but Friday night changed that. We never got refills on our drinks, our son's plate didn't have his refried beans even though the server said he would bring them right out. He never checked on us again after he brought our food. He was much more concerned with the table of 8 behind is and was very attentive to them. We didn't get our check and had to tell the cashier about our issues, but he didn't care either. A good little spot in Emory Tx for Mexican. Service was Great, sat down and the chips and salsa hit the table. The Queso and guacamole was worth getting. We ordered drinks and let's just say two Mango Margaritas were enough for my wife. Our meals came out quickly and hot. Overall this was a solid 4. Stopped here for lunch while visiting friends and family. We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious all our meals were. Especially love the free bowl of fideo you get during lunch. The service was ok, interior a little worn down. Margarita on the rocks, and they have a frozen margarita machine that looks liike a 7-11 slushy machine. The food came out VERY fast, lukewarm, and didn't appear to be fresh foods used as ingredients. Disappointing meal, and neither expensive nor inexpensive. Waste of money. HORRIBLE experience. Most generic "Mexican food" I've had. They have and I'll quote, "the best margaritas in town" only because they're literally the only restaurant that sells them. I had one and it was equivalent to the dollaritas from Applebee's for 5x the price. I don't know if you're supposed to seat yourself? No sign that says so. It was my first (and last) time going, I walked in there looking clueless and the guy who seated us seats us at the first table he sees which is closest to the entrance which is a joint table. He literally seated us next to another table. Most unpleasant people to sit next to. I don't care about 6ft distancing but seating us next to strangers when there are many empty tables was wrong. Idk if Emory has never seen an interracial couple before but they made me very uncomfortable. Coming from someone who grew up in Rockwall, Im in disbelief. Was excited to try this TexMex but from the start was disappointed. The salsa tasted like canned tomato sauce with a bit of texture added with absolutely no flavor. I've been back a few times since the first visit with friends who wanted to try it and the salsa is still not worth eating. Food was just Ok and the presentation was poor and unappetizing.
