I have dined there several times. I am a native Texan who grew up on Mexican food. Jesse's food is pretty good, just not your normal TexMex. They try very hard to please you but I just can't make myself like their white cheese . I have always eaten cheddar like used in queso. I will say their soup and salads are very good. It's a great new place. Food is great and plenty of it. Had the Mexican Lasagna. It was awesome. Miguel was our waiter. Very nice and friendly. Enjoyed having him as our waiter. My only suggestion is to bring your own cushion to sit on. The wooden benches and chairs have no cushion. We will be back. read more

Excellent food! I have been to Jesse's 6 times and have never had a bad meal, everything is great. My top 3 meals have been: Guiso, Elsa's Enchiladas, and the Fijitas. The street corn is great! The service is really good, the first 6 months that the restaurant was open, it was a little slow, but the kinks have been worked out and servers are good at reading the table and providing the right speed of service. The only negative is that it can get very loud. The floor is polished concrete and sound just echos loudly in there. read more

I was a little skeptical about another Mexican restaurant, but this place is definitely different! The atmosphere is more like a bar with large TVs and the bar in the center of the restaurant. Service was quick and the waiters all worked together to seat customers and get the food and drinks out. We started with sangria swirl margaritas, and they were very good and strong! We started with queso, and it's the good queso blanco with spinach! The salsa is also very good, and a medium strength. My husband tried the chili relleno, and he said it was good. I had the shrimp tacos with street corn, and both were very good. The drinks were a little pricey, but everything was delicious. We will definitely be back! read more

This was our 3rd visit to Jesse's in Kaufman while traveling thru. We try a new dish every trip and have not been disappointed! Of course, the street corn is a standard for us.. just amazing. I had the chicken fajita nachos, the jack cheese and seasoned chicken makes them the best I have ever eaten. My husband had the street tacos and ate every bite. We finally made it to Jesse's fajitas and Rita's for the first time, driving quite a ways from Carrollton! The inside was really cozy, and our waitress, Anna, was fantastic - the service was excellent. You can't beat their happy hour; the margaritas are huge for just five bucks, bigger than anywhere else I've been. And they were really good margaritas too! My husband and I got the fajitas, and they were excellent with the sausage. If I could make one suggestion, it would be for them to cut the chicken and beef a little thicker; I prefer it that way instead of thin slices. read more

I took my mother out for her birthday on a Saturday night. The service was excellent! We sat at the bar and I believe the bartender was named Clay, but I could be wrong. However, he was diligently working and my mother commented how busy he looked but never was unaware of checking up with us to make certain we were taken care of. Another girl came by to ask if we wanted more chips. I think she was a host but when I mistakenly declined more chips she pointed to my mother who looked at her because she wanted more chips with a warm smile and chuckle at my error. I came to visit my mom and she told me about this spot (my first time not hers) and I told the server (clay with the emo haircut) that she's here to eat and I'm here to drink (Thursday 1ish pm) got a margarita on the happy hour menu and it tasted meh. Server only checked on us once and I wanted another drink. I looked over the wall cause they sat us at an unseen spot (it didn't seem busy at all there was one party maybe 6 people) and didn't see anyone on the floor so I went to the bar and got myself a cucumber margarita (thank you Miguel you're a real one) and Miguel was so nice and the margarita was EXCELLENT, highly recommend the cucumber margarita. My mom ordered the lunch special enchiladas and she said her food tasted amazing. The service was mediocre during lunch time, food is great, but Miguel at the bar was very sweet and kind. And he's honestly the reason why this is getting 5 stars. I just wanted a day with my mom to hang and drink. We travel thru Kaufman at least twice a month and eat at the same place. This time we decided to try Jesse's. So glad we did! It's easy parking and the inside has brick walls with a really nice original design. We were seated quickly our server was great. Their salsa has some heat to it which I like. My husband ordered the Parrillada-sausage,shrimp, fajita and chicken dish with pepper and onions. I ordered combo uno with pepper jack enchilada, street corn, taco and beans. The plates came out in adequate time and food was hot. If I could just order a bowl of street corn I would be happy. The enchilada and taco were tasty as well. The star of our table was my husbands dish. He would not share one bite with me... ate the entire plate! He said the seasoning on the meat was very good and the meats were all juicy not dry at all.
