Such an amazing time at Dos Rios. Tammy has a beautiful place! She and her staff take great care of the grounds, paying close attention to the details. The canvas tent spots are cozy and private. Highly recommend #9 for the kitty company. (We were visited by 3-4, but this one captured our hearts) The river access is easy and well thought out. Brought our own kayak and tested the waters. They offer rentals as well. Thanks for a memorable trip, Dos Rios! Cant wait to get back.

Quick getaway with my husband aka mom and dads weekend off Loved it and i took several walks around the grounds and went into town for lunch. Everyone was so friendly and I felt very comfortable and safe everywhere. Left refreshed and sun kissed! Overall great and we'll be back again, def with the little one!

River is just at the base of bank to right. Water level way down with drought but still very lively rapids and water to wade in.

Beautiful location on river. Many activities. Much of the campground is shaded with mature trees and there are great locations for hammocks, tables, fire pits. We will be back soon!

Great place. Friendly staff with positive attitude. Stayed in a vintage trailer that was in great shape. We sat in a hammock overlooking the river as the resident cats seemed to mock us. On a morning walk to the 'island' I saw lots of wild life. Good access to River. Short drive to bat cave which Is $5 if in season. Mason had no ice for 3 days. No cell service but good WiFi.

This hidden gem just might be our favorite camping spot in Texas! We've stayed 3 times now and keep coming back with friends. Love that there are cabins and RVs to rent for our friends that don't have campers. Tammy is always super helpful and friendly. She always goes above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We love hiking and kayaking the beautiful river and relaxing around the property. Can't recommend it enough! Spots 1-5 are our favorites. Our friends have enjoyed the cabins and airstream rentals.

Pro's: Dos Rios RV Park & Campground is a place where family, kids, pets & friends come together to enjoy campfires, wonderful views and nature. A place to enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets from the campsites, immediately overlooking the crystal clear Llano River from high above. Private Cabins and Campers are available for rent for the quick overnighter or private tent sites are available for the more adventurous folks as well as full hook-up RV sites. Great place for fishing, photo opportunities, reading, camp-fires and relaxing. This is a privately owned RV Park/Camping-site with a really laid back atmosphere. Con's: My husband and I were encouraged by the Camp-host to book an RV site closest to the water. I had mentioned to her that our camper is a 40' big rig in addition to our F250 Truck pulling it. With that said, the RV sites closest to the water #4-#11 (when booked) are not a place for that size of an RV since there is no way getting in or out, which was my biggest concern when booking - but was told by the camp host that 'everybody' does that. Lesson learnt.... follow your gut. We were in RV Spot #4 - and were thankful that our immediate small RV neighbor in RV Spot # 5 left early with their truck and camper the morning of our departure - without that, we would not have been able to get out since the turn around is way to tight. In addition, access to the lower RV sites 4-11 are only accessible on a narrow road and a steep dip. One of the smaller RV campers got damaged by driving through the dip on his way out. Our camper was able to move through the dip with a 2" clearance from the ground which cut it very close. A way to improve this dip would be to add 1'-2' of fill dirt and rocks, to be able to raise it some. RV sites for big rig's (when the park is fairly booked) are very tight and close together. My suggestion, when entering - walk the campgrounds by foot first to evaluate how to best pull in and park into the booked site. We saw several large campers on the upper RV sites struggling to park. It is evident that the owner has put in hours of hard labor, creating this campground and offering a beautiful spot so close to the river to the public. With that said, a great plus could be a privacy hedge or fence of some kind surrounding the Host RV camper which is parked immediately at the front entrance, for all the gathered 'necessities' immediately spread around the camper to be somewhat hidden - first impressions are a lasting one. Other than that, this RV park/campground is situated close to Fredericksburg, Mason, Llano and sits 'smack in the middle a the beautiful Texas Hill Country', with historic markers close to it and an abundance of nature. I recommend this RV park and campground to others. Thank you

Came for a quick weekend getaway from Austin. Super cute park! Caretakers are really nice. It was quiet and clean. We stayed away from the river entrance but it was just a quick walk to get there. And the kids loved biking around the 'road'. The RV spots near the river have a nice communal area and fire pit. The spots away from the water have private pits and picnic benches. We stayed at 12, between the campers they provide. Kids loved playing in the river but there are decent drop offs on the way to the water so they had to be watched closely. Would love to come back with friends!

When I went, it was near the end of day, but the park rangers still admitted me in as the park's gate doesn't close until 10pm. There didn't seem to be many people that day, though I believe it was because I went in the middle of July in very warm temps. However, I was rewarded by the cold and refreshing South Llano River which I enjoyed mostly by myself. Standing in the river near the shore, small fish came up to my feet and ankles and started feeding off of my dead skin. It felt like I was getting a pedicure, except in a natural environment. There were a few places to access the river and plenty of parking around. I saw that they had several miles of trails to explore though I didn't get the chance to hike any of them. It is important to consider that the park is susceptible to flooding as its on low ground, so time your visit accordingly. Personally, I really enjoyed this park and I hope to be able to return during the cooler months to see stars in the dark sky!

The trails are well kept and I appreciated being able to do some birdwatching because they have designated areas for this. Additionally the river adds another perk to the park, you can go tubing, fishing, swim, etc. As far as the staff members, overall everybody was nice during check-in but on the night that there was a cold front and hail storm I was seeking help and no one was to be found. The hosts were off duty, the ranger we asked for help at the front that was sitting in his truck was dismissive, and the operator didn't answer. The good thing was that the park is about 15 minutes from the nearby town so I was able to get help there but in a case of emergency, I think somebody should be accessible. Overall, I really love the park. The sites good but beware of the cacti! Depending on which site you select, you may have more or less room for tents in the grassy area. I recommended the sites in the 40s for larger groups. Go to the observatory if you can, the hike is worth the beautiful view! Oh also there's plethora of animals! On this trip I saw deer, a roadrunner, a hog, armadillos, canaries, and hummingbirds.

There's a small river that crosses through the camp site, but the tides were low and it didn't look like you could kayak or tube in it that weekend. It was nice to watch the ducks swim by though. I like that the campsite includes clean restrooms and showers. Each tent site provides you a bench, trash bin, bbq grill, and fire pit. Unfortunately, there was a burn ban in effect during our stay, so we couldn't light a wood fire. There was plenty of space between us and other campers, so it didn't feel cramped. One thing that could be improved is that the field is pretty rocky. We couldn't seem to find a spot for our tent that wouldn't drive a stone in our backs at night. The camp site offers kayak rentals, but it gets to be quite expensive. Visitors can also use the swimming pool located by the front office. If you're feeling hungry, want to grab a drink, or enjoy some entertainment, right by the entrance is a restaurant bar. They've got live music most nights.

I feel that this site just had extra land so it offered some camping grounds but you're basically in people's backyards on both sides, and near a highway so lots of car noise. Maybe there are sites offered deeper where you're not so close to roads and peoples homes. Overall, I still enjoyed my trip, but I would probably only return here if I had an RV Camper. Not the best spot for tent camping.

The hike is relatively easy, until it isn't. At one point, I really thought we must have turned off the trail. We were down to single file, rocky terrain. I didn't remember this part of the trail so I'm memorializing my trauma now. Luckily, I was with a supportive and helpful partner who lead the way and helped me when I needed. Once we got passed that stretch of terror, we were home free! And then we had to traverse the parking lot clear to the other side. Come to find out, there's two ways to start the loop. But I remember going to camp when I was a kid and we got spoiled milk. Like stringy and sour smelling as you poured it. And it was one dish for the entire table. Here it's buffet style. As much as you want. They accommodated for vegetarians. Like on hamburger day they had huge portobello mushrooms to make a shroom burger. Ice cream cups and bombsicles and my favorite Orange dreamsicles in their self serve fridge. Twice a week in the summer they had BBQ down by the river. I think some of the activities you gotta reserve in advance. Like way in advance. For example archery - 1 month in advance. They got zip line and ropes course too that probably require reservations. They're very modest courses. Like zip line is just one line. I think there's a critter museum with some of the local wildlife there (bugs etc). No reservation required for the canoes however. And there are some nice small rapids with natural water slides for young kids to enjoy as well as a free man made slide that looks kinda intense. If you put your feet in the river minnows will come up and nibble on them. Like a fish spa. And of course they have an iconic rope on the tree like all good camps have. Swimming pool is there for those who don't like the Guadalupe river (but river is super clean and you can see to the bottom). Accommodations were surprisingly decent. Clean. No bugs. Shampoo, bar soap and towels provided at least at the Flato lodge which were apartment style with nice little shares balcony with room next door. They have a small cafe on site with soda fountain ($20 tumbler gets you unlimited refills for the year). Little hiking trails. Several resident indoor chill cats who hang out at the various building like Mabee Building, their museum (ask for the key), etc. Mostly multiple church groups booking here at the same time but different facilities. The place is large. Despite being church groups some of the high school campers were dropping the F bomb left and right in the cafeteria. Actually heard some of the staff doing the same. Staff was all polite and are young international folks from various countries like Hungary, Spain, Australia, UK, Mexico and other places. Was a nice getaway and just what the doctor ordered.

The advertising for it that I found online shows pics of all bedrooms and shows the beds, so I don't understand SS complaining about that. See https://www.moranch.org/stay-at-mo-ranch/group-lodging-at-mo-ranch/braun-house-mo-ranch/. )There are less expensive options at Mo. It's a valid complaint that the toilet and fridge weren't clean and that there were droppings. The charge of "unresponsive staff" is vague - does that mean she got nowhere with expressing her concerns to the front office? That hasn't been my experience. As far as being unaware that it's a "religious" site, it's a Presbyterian camp & conference center and there is absolutely no pushing of religion on any guest, ever. But I acknowledge that Air B&B or whoever posts it should note that it's part of a conference center property. Okay, here's my take. My family has stayed at Mo Ranch probably 15 times, for several days each time, on both church retreats and family reunions. There have been occasional glitches, which were resolved to our satisfaction. It is a wonderful place for families, with lots for kid to do. The Wynne/Flato lodge accommodations are as nice or nicer than many commercial hotels I've stayed at. We've stayed in both Pheasant Run and Wynne/Flato, which includes cafeteria-style meals, and barbecue by the river on Fridays in the summer; as well as the Guest Lodge by the river, where we had a kitchen and could prepare our own meals. It's a beautiful location with a great history. I'm sorry that "SS" didn't have the same good experience as most every other poster here did. Oh, and P.S.: we've been using the water slide since YEARS before they added the side rails! It is definitely safe.
