Each day that I am blessed to work here, I continue to be impressed by the excellent patient care and relationships Dr. Myers has built with his patient's over the years. Each and every patient I see has been a patient of Dr.Myers for 20+ years, and each and every patient is so excited to catch up with Dr.Myers when they come in for their recall appointment's. If the patient is on frequent recalls for their cleanings, and not due for their exam that day Dr.Myers will always still come in to say hello to the patient, which is something I have never experienced in the past. Dr. Myers always takes the time for each and every patient, remembering intricate details about their life. For New patients, they always see Dr. Myers for their first appointment. This is something I have not experienced at any other office, and it sets the stage for building a strong & trusting dental relationship with Dr.Myers. He formulates a treatment plan specific to each patient, and reviews this in depth with them explaining and showing them the reason for each recommendation. Aside from this, I have hands down never seen such beautiful dental work that lasts!!! Most of the patient's are holding steady and are meticulous about their oral hygiene. I have worked as a dental hygienist for many dentists throughout the state, also temping for several years. Dr. Myers is the best dentist in the state of Maine, & the best employer I have ever had treating his patients & employees so well and taking such good care of all of us. I am generally sore from head to toe due to being so tense and my hands hurt from gripping the arms of the chair.... and that is for a cleaning. I really struggle to go to my happy place when a drill starts. What I like about Dr. Vaughan is that he doesn't try to gab and chat me up while he's working in my mouth and I can't answer anyway. I haven't had to listen to any innane chatter between him and the assistants either. HIs assistants are all well trained and often start and finish procedure for him allowing him to move on to the next person. This all works really well for me. I can try to disengage and forget I am there and mentally check out as much as possible. This isn't the sort of office where you are going to go in and be offered coffee and tea and bottled water and neck wraps. They have a pleasant waiting area with some stuff for little kids. Erica at the front is really helpful when it comes to dealing with insurance and helping you figure out what gets covered and doesn't.... thank you! She has been the most spot on estimator I have ever had. If you are looking to be in and out in an hour, it will probably not happen. However, I called Tuesday due to a tooth that I had sheared part off and the filling on that part had come off and they fit me in today to get it fixed. For me, the no frills and get it done works. They do offer a prescription to help take the edge off, but you will need a driver and maybe not go back to work after so if you need that, you need to plan accordingly.

I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what I have, and I feel responsible for speaking out. As I write this, I am still in a great deal of pain almost two years later. From the beginning, my experience at this office was frustrating. I came in with significant pain, hoping for real solutions, but instead, I was given round after round of antibiotics with no long-term plan. I made it clear which side of my mouth was hurting the most, yet somehow, work was done on the opposite side--something even the dental assistant questioned out loud in the room. After that, not only did my original pain persist, but new issues arose where they had done the unnecessary work. I ended up worse off after multiple visits, and some of the teeth they worked on only deteriorated further. The only bright spot in this office was the dental assistants. They were the only ones who seemed to listen and show any real concern. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the actual dentist, who ignored my concerns multiple times, or for the front desk staff. If the conversation wasn't about payments, they didn't seem to care. The front desk woman, Elyse (or Alyssa), was incredibly rude and dismissive no matter how much pain I was in. I was met with indifference at best, and outright rudeness at worst, every time I called in for help. This whole ordeal has taken a serious toll on me, both physically and financially. I trusted this office to help me, but instead, I've been left in pain, out a significant amount of money, and still searching for real treatment. I don't take leaving a review like this lightly, but I feel like people deserve to know what kind of experience they may have here.

They were able to temporarily resolve the situation that day. For a more permanent solution, I met with Dr. Best. He was personable and professional. He asked my permission and then invited a student to observe him, which I respect. One of the best things, though, was how intentional he was about communicating what he was doing. Always including me, letting me know what to expect. This helped to put me at ease throughout the process. He always spoke politely to me, saying please and thank you. Another thing that was the best is the camaraderie between Dr. Best and his assistant, Jovita. The respect and mutuality between them is a joy to witness. Clearly they've been working together for years, which speaks to their character. I would highly recommend Dr. Best and Prosthodontics Associates.

He uses the latest dental technology, is incredibly skilled and professional, very gentle, genuinely cares, has a wonderful sense of humor and truly settles for nothing but the best outcome for his patients. The staff and team are very friendly...... They used my images for social media and their Christmas card... . Fast forward to this year... Thankfully they enjoyed working with me, liked my work and I was called back to photograph this years Christmas card. The only difference this year was...I had a cracked tooth....I've been putting off a dentist appointment but after being around these guys and their staff...I felt as though I was in the right place and booked an appointment right after our photo shoot. . I went in for a check up, some x-rays and a teeth cleaning....I am very happy with how informative everyone has been with me, how professional everyone is and how nice everyone is. . I felt inspired to come on today and write this review after having Bea do my teeth cleaning....What a wonderful person she is....I am not a fan of having my teeth cleaned...She made it a very comfortable experience for me....I actually gave her a hug when it was over....This woman is a true asset to this business....The office staff was very helpful and pleasant and just want to say what a great experience I had with everyone across the board! I organized a fund raiser to get the money for my teeth and Dr. Traina came to me and told me that whatever we didn't raise he would cover. Now don't expect them to cover cost lol that's not what this is about. But they took care of me every step of the way. Now my dental health is better then It has ever been and my new teeth are amazing! No one can even tell i have dentures and I often forget I'm wearing them. They fit like they were my own and being able to eat has made me happier then I could have imagined. They will treat you like family. And that makes the difference.
