Since the procedure, my left eye does not fully close, and I was told that too much skin may have been removed. This has caused ongoing issues with dryness, light sensitivity, and discomfort--especially in the mornings when I often cannot open my eyes for 10-15 minutes due to sensitivity. Time and time and time again he kept telling me it'll get better they will get better. I had shared once that I wish I had never done the surgery and he replied well if I knew this was gonna happen I wouldn't have done it either. Over time, my vision has continued to change, and I have not been able to get stable corrective lenses. I also experience difficulty reading fine print and using a computer, which has impacted my daily life and schoolwork. Despite these ongoing concerns, I repeatedly felt that my symptoms were not taken seriously and was often reassured that things would "get better," but they have not improved. Additionally, I was encouraged to try a different type of lens approach which was another surgery that did not work, and I was charged $350 per eye each time. Being on disability, this has been a significant financial burden, and I do not feel these additional costs were justified given the outcome. This experience has been both physically and emotionally difficult. I am currently seeking corrective care with another doctor in hopes of resolving these issues. I believe patients deserve to feel heard, taken seriously, and fully informed about potential outcomes. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. So all in all I had to have a fourth surgery to correct the mistake that he had made. Also, I never felt like I was heard or an apology or anything. It was like I didn't care at all about me.

He performed laser surgery to correct an astigmatism in the same eye and at the same time as the cataract surgery. The surgery was quick, highly successful and I experienced almost no pain in in surgery or during the following week after surgery. The morning after surgery I was seeing very clearly out of my right eye. I'm returning for laser / cataract surgery on my left eye, with the confidence of knowing I can trust Dr Fante and can expect wonderful results. I first saw Dr Fante several years ago for a condition that was extremely rare and hard to diagnose. Dr Fante was extremely helpful in the process of diagnosing the cause of the eye symptoms, which included temporary blindness in one eye over the course of several months. I have had no trouble with either her staff or with scheduling. Also, some complaints are very outdated (over 6-7 years ago). For instance, I've been her patient for a few years and never had to come to any downtown office. She appears to be working more fully at the Sansum Foothills location near Hwy 154. She is competent, professional, and is giving me very good care. (I have narrow-angles, am a "glaucoma suspect", and she gave me an iridotomy in each eye, a quick and painless procedure, to help with drainage). Santa Barbara is fortunate to have a doctor with her level of expertise to help those of us in the community who need such eye care.

Long story short, my mom and I (who has since passed away) were shopping at the cute makeup store in Montecito next to Jeannine's. A woman there was helping us, and my mom, who was 86 at the time, told her she had beautiful skin and lips and asked if she saw someone. She smiled, handed my mom Dr. Yegiyants' business card, and that was that. Fast forward about six months. My injector, Melissa (who had been doing my Botox and filler for years), decided to join Dr. Yegiyants' office. I couldn't believe it! I made an appointment for my Botox and was able to spend a few minutes with Dr. Yegiyants. I went in thinking I needed skin removed from my upper eyelids. She walked in wearing the chicest blue leather dress, gently placed her finger just above my eyebrow, lifted it slightly, and said something like, "All you need is this." Then she added, "Not a surprised look..." I was sold. I didn't need to hear anything else except, "When can we schedule it?" About a month later, I had my brow lift. I honestly didn't do much research because I believe that when things align like this, they're meant to be. On the day of surgery, I was dropped off feeling completely at ease. From the moment I walked in, the office felt like family. Everyone there is genuinely kind, warm, and caring. I even had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Yegiyants' husband, who also works in the office. The surgical suite is immaculate, private, and welcoming. Once I was in my cozy pre-op outfit, the nurses kept me laughing and completely entertained. I wasn't nervous for a second. Before surgery, Dr. Yegiyants came in, carefully looked me over, and we reviewed the plan one more time. It was such a comforting moment. She looked like an astronaut in all of her surgical gear, and somehow that made me smile. I went into surgery with a forehead that had always felt heavy. I came out looking lighter, happier, and more feminine--while still looking like myself. I saw Dr. Yegiyants the very next day and returned for several follow-up visits. Everything healed beautifully, and I always felt completely cared for. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Yegiyants and her entire team. They are exceptionally professional, compassionate, and talented. If you're wondering whether you should do it, my answer is yes. You'll probably ask yourself why you waited so long.
