We used to come here often when it was a Copa Vida breakfast spot and was sadden when the place closed down. When Dot Cafe opened in its place, we were so excited and came in to check it out. The place was re-decorated with fresh mural, more plants inside with nooks to sit and hang out. Each table has a fresh centerpiece made of some vegetables, which was vey cute! I like the ambiance here, and though I don't know how they will handle a bigger crowded. Half of the interior was walled off for some sort of event space (currently looks like storage space). I ordered the avocado toast and my husband got the berry waffle. The plates were decorated very pretty with fresh fruits and veggies but the portion were tiny for the price we paid. Talk about shrinkflation! Let's just say my husband had to eat more breakfast at home after his waffle breakfast! I guess huge portion is a thing of the past. My avocado toast came with the baguettes and the avocados in separate piles so you can make your own avocado toast, which was fine, except there was more avocados than the baguettes. Oh well. If you wondering about price point, expect to pay $25 per person for a breakfast plate and a drink. read more

Dot Cafe has taken the place of Copa Vida, a similar cafe, which closed months and months ago because - I think - of lackluster help. I'm SO happy that Dot Cafe seems to be an improvement to Copa Vida in all respects. Dot Cafe doesn't serve Starbucks coffee and, today, my coffee was just lukewarm, but I did not care at all. I was really excited for this place to open up so that my kid and I could try it! We had been scoping it out ever since they started getting it ready. The outside sitting areas are definitely a great place to hang out and enjoy coffee! The lady who took my order wasn't very friendly and seemed annoyed that we weren't sure on what to order right away. It was hard to look at the menu in front of the register because someone, who seemed like a friend, came in with their dog to order and stood in front of the register to chat which pushed us to the side. The customer's dog was barking a lot and licking my leg. I have no issue with dogs except for the fact that my kid has an extreme allergy to dog/cat saliva so I had to pick my son up and carry him to avoid catastrophe.... So there's that. At the end of it all, I ended up panic ordering a reg coffee and a pastry. Both were very basic but ok. Probably won't be revisiting. Definitely made us miss Copa Vida even more. Bummer! read more
