Such a cute cafe in Carmel Valley. It's in a little shopping mall so there's plenty of parking and other businesses nearby. The cafe itself is clean and charming with plants everywhere and has both inside and outside seating options. They are known for their fresh and healthy inspired food and drinks, so you feel really good after eating here. I ordered an apple juice which was juiced right there and hit the spot. I also ordered the carrot tacos which were absolutely delicious and surprisingly filling. My friend ordered the beet waffles and matcha and she loved them! They really take pride in their presentation of the food, drinks, and atmosphere and it shows. Prices are reasonable too.

This is the perfect work-from-cafe spot! The interior is beautiful. I loved all the greenery and wood - made the space feel rustic, but also homey! I ordered an iced strawberry matcha, and appreciated that the coloring for the foam came from beets! All natural!! I'll definitely be back to work outside on a pretty day (:

Met up with a girlfriend here to try this place for the first time. It honestly felt like stepping into a little earthy sanctuary. The space has such a warm, plant-loving vibe. Greenery everywhere, soft natural light, and such a peaceful energy. I ordered an espresso with a side glass of ice, and even *that* was an experience. The presentation was next-level: served on a beautiful wooden tray, and the tiny spoon had the cutest little leaf detail sprouting from it. It sounds small, but those thoughtful touches made it feel intentional and special: like they genuinely care about the ritual of coffee, not just the drink itself. I have some dietary needs, so I brought my own homemade creamer, and they didn't bat an eye. No awkwardness, no attitude: just kindness and flexibility, which I truly appreciated. The barista went above and beyond and actually brought our order out to our table, which felt so personal and hospitable. It's rare to see these days, and made the experience oh so special. My friend shared her muffin with me (true friendship behavior), and oh the raspberry goodness in baked form. Soft, not overly sweet, and scrupulous. The kind of muffin you think about later. Dot Cafe's perfect for that slow catch-up with a friend, a solo moment of calm, or a cozy little treat-yourself stop. Highly recommend if you love good coffee, beautiful presentation, and plant-filled spaces that feed your soul

I stopped in here after my son's dentist appointment in the same plaza and we were not disappointed. His chocolate croissant was top notch and my macchiato was brewed to perfection. Inside and out is a diner's delight. The interior is decorated with tons of flora and the outside is well insulated from vehicle traffic. There's ample room for children to run about and sit around a tree stump cut right to their height. I only ordered from the baked goods, but the good carried out to the tables looked scrumptious and the cafe boasts their locally sourced ingredients on a sign outside. As I waited for my wife's to go order, the barista asked me how I enjoyed my macchiato and we chatted about local coffee shops. You can also feel great supporting this business as it has a kid's learning kitchen attached it to it, as well.

This newer cafe is the cutest little spot with such a welcoming vibe! They have a great selection of coffee and matcha drinks and menu items. The cashier recommended one of their specialty drinks for the month. I was sold on the strawberry foam matcha and it was great! It wasn't too sweet, which I was happy about. Sometimes a strawberry matcha can have an overly sweet/artificial flavor, but this was so natural and light. Definitely a spot I would come back to work for an afternoon!

A cute little spot with great aesthetics and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The entrance is a bit tricky to find, but once you're in, it's a nice place to study or get work done. There are lots of food options on the menu, the staff is very friendly and chatty, and my latte was good too.

"FOOD IS AN ACT OF AGRICULTURE" (4 stars) ... We breathe like leaves. - FOOD: good and clean - PRICE: hmm it's Del Mar - SERVICE: good - AMBIANCE: cute bright corner cafe I really like this neighborhood cafe. Draws in the residence and it's away from everything - tourist and all. Keep in mind, the area is suburbia so do expect families, parents either extra soft parenting, and small loud children that aren't controlled to be screaming breaking any peacefulness surrounding tables may want. Kind of forced to eat and leave quickly because it was very disruptive. DECAF CARAMEL LATTE ($7) - they use Jaunt coffee beans. They are highly liked by many locals but I find their beans to be just ok. I can taste chocolate notes in the beans and also currents and kind of tart/bitter. Not my favorite l roaster or beans but I'll take it. The latte was served in a ceramic cup (how I love my lattes) and had beautiful foam art. BEET WAFFLES ($14) - this plate tasted very clean! However it was very dry and need the sauce to help sweeten the plate. Cocoa bits were bitter but the chocolate design swirl was milk chocolate. The pictures and description enticed the order but the overall taste didn't satisfy my breakfast needs. I should have got something else. I kept seeing the two egg dish and told myself I should have ordered that. Will be back to try other breakfast items AND sit outside. Until the next review....

Enjoying the outdoor space listening to my friend JamieJames King play on this Sunday morning. Enjoying the immunity drink and some scrambled eggs with some sourdough bread. Bread is a hit but the eggs miss the mark. Flavorless so asked for some hot sauce on the side. Got a small container of what looks like tomatillo sauce, but again flavor is lacking. Maybe a little more salt? The sourdough bread was cracked wheat and quite good, but they gave ve you about a teaspoon of whipped butter for 3 pieces of bread. My husband had the yogurt parfait and he enjoyed it. Service was good. This place has potential. Best thing was the juice.

Food came out real nice and fast. The plating was spectacular. Service was just okay. It felt like they were trying to get us to leave, but not the people outside. We sat indoors and there was a lot of foliage. There were lettuce pots on the table too, but they didn't look so fresh and were kind of wilting. The location is a little odd. It's much bigger on the inside compared to how it looks from the outside. There's free WiFi. I would come here again to try other items. Coffee was good

Gave this place another try. The coffee is okay, but nothing special. The charcoal chocolate banana bread was very dry, and the croissant tasted stale. Overall, pretty disappointing experience this time around. I do fancy the location and outdoor seating .

Tried Dot for the first time today and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere feels quiet and peaceful, tucked away in a neighborhood. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with the interior being perfectly decorated and designed. The matcha latte was incredible. Perfectly made with quality matcha and oat milk. Their roasted carrot tacos were a standout. Simple, fresh and absolutely delicious, exactly what I was craving. I cannot recommend Dot enough and can't wait to be back!

They're dog friendly, have large grassy areas and corn hole; it's such a vibe. It's all about the outside dining area and that awesome wall of jasmine flowers. It was breezy and the scent traveled making the experience super unique. We were famished and everything on the menu looked next level good. Our waitress Cynthia answered all our annoying questions. I got the lavender lemonade to start and it hit the spot. The lavender was perfect, not too perfumy (not a word apparently but it is today) but enough to say ok, there's lavender in there and I like it. It was refreshing. My main meal was the chilaquiles which had a nice kick to it so beware if you can't tolerate any spicy flavors. It was more of a soup in presentation but I love sauce and may have licked the bowl because I'm classy. We also desperately wanted the side of potatoes because we kept seeing it and all of us ended up getting an order and did not regret it. The potatoes include the skin, salted and super crunchy. It's like fry well fries and I'm all about it. We will be back!!!

I ordered avocado toast with an egg and it was very decent, but nothing special. Bread was kind of fatty, I believed it was dipped in butter. My husband had some breakfast platter with potatoes which he asked to be extra crispy and he got the deep fried breakfast potatoes. His bread was also dipped in butter and his egg was also very fatty. So we didn't enjoy the food too much.

There was a bit of a wait for our table so we caught the happy hour at the bar: I had the California mimosa and a friend had a Truth Serum--both well-made and delicious. Also, some really good Happy hour deals, which was surprising for a hotel like this. Once our table was ready we were led to a large comfortable booth. The dining room decor was in keeping with the rest of the Grand Del Mar's appealing historic California aesthetic. We shared the Brioche with honey butter to start, which was to was to die for--so soft and warm. A friend and I split the handmade cavatelli (wonderful handmade texture) and halibut (very juicy and delicious). They also split the food into separate dishes for us at no extra cost, which I thought was a very classy touch. I finished things off with a very good decaf coffee with cream. Our main server seemed a bit harried, but it was the busy holiday season after all, and the support staff was there to make sure water glasses were filled and dishes whisked away in a timely manner. It was a very nice experience overall.

Reservation was at 12 - food came out at 1:40. When we asked for ketchup, the server was clearly annoyed with our request. A party of 5 came after us as a walk in and had to wait 25 minutes to be seated - yet all of them received their food before us. However, I know they also didn't receive the most pleasant service. They asked for coke and coffee numerous times waiting patiently in between. In the end, they left before us and I don't believe they received their drinks. The avocado toast was one slice smaller than the size of my palm. The taste was bland and it seems like they intentionally left out the lime. How do you serve avocado toast without lime!!!! $30 for that is a JOKE. The chicken chilaquiles had a bone and once I bit into that, I couldn't eat it anymore, it grossed me out. We didn't finish the dessert. No wonder they offer the brunch 3 course meal for $75. They know it's a joke and I wish we hadn't fallen for it! She recently graduated from UCSD and this was her favorite smoothie (still is). My niece got the Frutopia smoothie and enjoyed her drink. I opted for a build-your-own açaí bowl. The bowl came with any 4 toppings, additional toppings varied it cost per item. I chose strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and new pollen. I also added sliced almonds and granola, topped with honey. The gal who helped build my açaí bowl (Acharipon, I probably butchered the spelling of her name), was very pleasant and had really great customer service skills. It's obvious she was well trained and had the skills set to work in food service. What sets this place apart from other places that sells smoothies and açaí bowls was the friendliness of their staff. Acharipon made a pretty bowl that was Yelp photo worthy! What I loved about my bowl: The açaí base was very frozen. Some other places make it watery, which I do not care for. I liked how it was frozen, down to the last spoon! The blueberries were frozen (I love frozen blueberries). Areas for improvement: The strawberries were frozen and chopped into tiny pieces. Fresh strawberries would've been nicer. The toppings options were limited. The shop was very clean and organized. There was a self-help kiosk where you placed your order, but payment was at the register. It seemed a bit odd that the kiosk didn't have the functionality to accept payments, because the order had to be re-confirmed at the register when it was already confirmed at the self-help kiosk. This slowed down the process slightly, which I didn't mind. Overall, I enjoyed the experience here and would definitely recommend it!

I had the almond butter toast to use up a gift card, which was fine but I'm not sure I would personally pay $5.87 for it. I found this place a little bit inconvenient to go to since the hours on Google and Yelp are incorrect and they didn't have any hours posted on their door, but they open at 10am on Tuesdays and not 7am. I also found it odd that they bill themselves as "on the go" food, but you cannot order ahead for pick up. If you order ahead you still have to go to the register to pay, which makes it a less convenient option than other campus options that do allow pick-up. There is no seating inside, but there are close tables and chairs that are outside.
