It's always a good idea to support women owned businesses. Found this spot near my hotel and wanted to try it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Liquid Bean is nestled in a nicely shaded area in a business complex.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are several parking spots, but limited seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is simple, but they also offer a variety of coffees, I'd never tried before. I also grabbed a breakfast burrito from their fridge and they heat it up after purchase. It was a bit pricey for a refrigerated burrito ($11). The Açaí bowl was refreshing. They also offer coffee cubes instead of ice (love it), but there's an additional .50 charge per cup and the barista didn't mention it when ordering. I noticed the charge after reviewing the receipt. I'd recommend The Liquid Bean when in the Del Mar area. read more

I also got a regular acai bowl which was just okay. I don't know if it was the combination of both the drink and the acai bowl but it was more on the sweet-side for me. this is my favorite little coffee shop, i feel like it's a hidden gem! stumbled upon it one day after an appointment and come back on any day off that i can. it's about 25 minutes away from me but i still make it back a couple times a month. they get their pastries from a local shop and their coffee is really nice. the prices are pretty average in comparison to other non-chain coffee shops, but i always add the coffee cubes for a little extra. it's usually only two baristas in there but they work relatively fast all things considered. i really would rather it take a couple extra minutes to get the quality that they give. they are super sweet and from what I can tell, have a good amount of "regulars" that seem to really love this place.
