I did a mobile order and when I came in to pick it up i stood by the counter for 10 mins waiting for my açaí bowl. Nobody asked me if I needed help. (Store was basically empty at the time btw) I guess they store it in the fridge once they make it. A little disappointed since I had no idea it was already made and ready for pick up. Not my favorite juice place. They no longer have a Jamba Juice in the area and this was the only thing close to a juice place. Sometimes you just want a refreshing fresh fruit juice drink. I was really hoping to find it here. Unfortunately nope! Usually my hubs sucks it up and finishes whatever I don't like to eat or drink... thankfully that is rare, but he even had a hard time finishing it for me and we had to toss it. I am a regular at the everbowl in our neighborhood but I have to say I like the more expansive menu of nekter juice bar. For just $6 I had a chia pudding granola parfait with strawberries and blueberries. I'm so used to spending $22 at everbowl for breakfast so this $6 treat was heavenly. I asked the cashier if she thought it would be a heavy enough breakfast for me and she said yes. No corporate upsell! That vibe is so nice to be around especially in La Jolla. I have UCSD Health care so when I have appointments in the area I'll stop by again and eat something else and review them again. Nekter is right there in the heart of the shopping center, so it's my go to spot when I need a pick me up immunity shot, a refreshing juice or acai bowl for breakfast or lunch. The standard is usually the banana berry acai bowl and then I usually add almond or peanut butter to it, but I went with the classic this time and enjoyed every bite of it. Based on reviews, the biggest critique is the price but it's in line with every other shop in San Diego and it's near UTC so the price fits the area and it's surroundings. read more

The Berry Banana Burst was delicious. I ordered it with my brunch and this could easily be a meal replacement. The smoothie was thick and creamy but it was very easy to sip through a straw and none of the fruits get stuck in the straw. What drew me in was the house made cashew milk. It did make the drink taste delicious. It wasn't over the top sweet but just the right amount. And when it's summer time, this would be a great drink to have as you're walking and exploring La Jolla. read more

According to their website, Nektar was founded in 2010 and have now grown to about 160+ locations with plans to expand to 425+ locations in 2022. Their focus is on freshly made juices, smoothies and açaí bowls that are made to order without any mystery ingredients. I tried 2 ACAI bowls - (1) Protein Power Bowl BLENDED: vanilla protein, coconut flakes, strawberry, banana, cocoa nibs, and housemade cashew milk. TOPPED: peanut butter granola, strawberry, blueberry, peanut butter, banana, and superfood blend. Funny because I'm not a big smoothie guy but their Acai bowl is incredible. I've gone to Nekter off and on for awhile now but recently started going back after my wife turned me onto their Acai Peanut Butter Bowl. We are vegan and this is a great protein option for me and it tastes great. The staff is always friendly and it typically doesn't take long (some exceptions) to get my order. For a chain store, I look for consistency at their locations and I'm happy to say that Nekter is very consistent with their products. It seems a lil' pricey but i think it's they have pretty standard prices for the industry. I will definitely continue to give them my business, particularly the one on La Jolla Village Drive in San Diego. PS - I had their peanut butter toast and it was really yummy too! read more

I have been to this location many times and I always wanna write a review but for some reason I put it off but today would be the day that I have to share my experience because it's an ongoing issue every time I come to this location. Most of the smoothies have agave in the them. I'm not a fan of it it's too sweet. So I would say the approximation of the amount of time i've been here is probably more than ten times. I always ask to get it without the agave. And for some reason it always ends up being put in there. I came today I was helped at the register by a young girl, I asked her, can you please make sure they don't put any Agave in there? Because every time I say no agave somehow it gets put in there anyway. She assures me that she would make a note so it wouldn't happen. I had to wait for my smoothie for some time because they were busy. So I stepped out for a about 10 and came back. I see that they're about to start making my smoothie. And the girl who took my order starts putting in the ingredients in the blender. And after about 3 of the items, I witness 4 pumps of a agave pumped into the blender. So I let her finish and when she's done, she calls my name. I go over to get my smoothie. I tell her you're going to have to make it again because I just saw you put 4 pumps of agave in there. She goes i'm so sorry I forgot. So the fact that I have to tell you three times the fact that this has happened more than ten times in all the occasions i've come here and it still happens is frustrating. My thing is they're looking at what is going in the smoothie then looking at the cup and their fixation is so much of what needs to be put in the items that they forget that sometimes customers make modifications. Or substitutions, and that's important to make sure that they see that. What if somebody has an allergy to something? What if something upset someone's stomach? What if someone can't do dairy?. We are coming in here trusting you that you're making it right. It's gotten so bad to the point that I actually have to sit there and watch you make my smoothie because I have no confidence that is going to be made correctly. I've decided that it might be time for me to find another location or another place. Because this isn't worth that much trouble in spending that much money and needing to worry. My little girl and I visit Nékter Juice at Villa Jolla Dr. every week. Among my regular orders, I always get an açaí bowl for her, paying full price but requesting only açaí and granola. Until today, this was never an issue. However, out of the blue, the staff refused to accommodate my request, stating that their manager had prohibited it. Jessica and Justin were absolutely the best!! 10/10 in customer service! Initially I was stuck between the "Orange Crush" and the "Mango Delight" so Justin recommended we take the cashew milk in the "Mango Delight" and replace it for orange juice; this was literally the best recommendation as I was obsessed with the end result and got the perfect tropical taste I was going for! My brother got the "Pink Flamingo" but I was surprised he didn't like it. The description of the drink sounds delightful but when I took a sip of his drink it had this unexpected nutty flavor. I'm thinking it's either the coconut water or the agave nectar. I really did not like this smoothie either so I went back inside and let them know that my brother didn't like the smoothie. I asked if I can have it remade or offered to purchase another drink. Needless to say, Justin took care of us at no charge and made my brother another smoothie. My brother ended up getting the Mango delight with orange juice like me and he added strawberries. He ended up loving it! You know there are smoothie places that are healthy and delicious. And then there are smoothie places that are healthy and taste healthy. This is a place where the smoothie healthy and tastes healthy loooool. I ended up ordering the berry banana burst and tbh it's nothing special. If anything the berries in it are only there for color cuz you legit can NOT taste them at all. And the banana overpowers the whole smoothie. Like it was okay. I got it for free because I downloaded the Nekter app and they had a promo going on to get a free smoothie and I was in the area so why not. I honestly would not pay for this smoothie or go out of my way to order it. So why the 3 stars if I didn't like the smoothie? I like the location of the place, size of the store, the customer service, and how they're handling corona. They have a BIG barrier between the customers and the cashier which is great. More protection for the employees and I am HERE for any company that makes sure there is safety implemented for their employees. While they may be a bit cramped in the back making smoothies, it's with people they interact with on a daily basis versus hundreds of customers who come in a day who they are well shielded from. My smoothie came out pretty quick, I prob waited maxxxx 3 min for my drink which was nice. Overall I wouldn't come out of my way to come here and the berry banana smoothie was just ok. I had a terrible experience at Nekter and will be contacting customer service about it. I told the first worker before placing my order that I had a free juice or smoothie offer with my first purchase. She said it had to be done after the first transaction, so I went ahead and paid for a PB&J bowl. However, she forgot to scan my barcode for points and told me I'd have to manually enter the receipt in the app, which I did--but it wouldn't work. I returned to the store and spoke with a guy named Angehlo, who unhelpfully told me to just call customer service. I explained that wouldn't solve anything, so I asked to speak to the manager, Jackie. She said she would refund and redo the transaction so I could receive the free item. After a long wait, we finally got the first bowl after 30 minutes, but never received the second one we were told we would get. When I asked, the same first worker said there was no second bowl. Jackie then backtracked and said she redid the transaction so I could get the free drink through the app--something she never clearly communicated. Her disorganized handling of the situation was completely unprofessional and wasted 30-40 minutes of my time. This location is a mess, full of confusion and poor service. I'll never return and will be reaching out to corporate to report this experience. read more

Amazing customer support from the team when I go in the morning even when they are busy they are very attentive. My favorite items on the menu are by far the Protein Power bowl extra tick with agave inside and on top, perfect post workout meal to get! They didn't have that refreshing quality that is common in smoothies, which was especially disappointing because Nekter claims to use fresh fruits and all natural ingredients. Maybe we got unlucky with the fruit selection that day but nonetheless, for the cost, we hoped for better. Açaí Superfood Bowl is chock full of all the healthy stuff. I haven't seen an açaí bowl that has so many ingredients! The fruits are bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple. There is a granola that has oats, hemp hearts, puffed rice, spinach and kale has been blended into the açaí so you can't tell it is there except for the very tiny bits.
