She is the only person who can draw blood without hurting me. She is the sweetest, kindest, woman you will ever meet and is always a pleasure to talk to - she eases your mind and makes you very comfortable and relaxed. If ever I get a lab slip to another place (like Quest), I have my doctor give me a generic one specifically so I can go to Primex. There is never any wait! She's in the little beige building directly to the left of the drive up liquor store on Loma Vista across from CMH. (see attached picture) Also, just an FYI, I love this place so much that I created this Yelp listing because it is impossible to find this location online. I want everyone to know how great it is!

However, and I hate for it to be a one time experience that makes me feel this way, but it does, today (8/4/26 in the AM), I showed up for an appointment with (what I thought) everything that I needed: ID, form for Biometric Screening through Cottage's Wellness benefit system, & freshly hydrated with no food on my stomach (lol). I ended up needing a Dr.'s order to get the labs drawn, & not just the Biometrics Screening Form (which I assumed, wrongfully, is all I needed). The communication from the front desk woman was.. horrid. Let's just say, for someone who has "15 years of experience," (her words, not mine), you would expect that her form of communication is simple, not off putting, & emotionless. Not her. After making it very clear that an order was needed, I was confused because I had been there before without a Dr.'s order (& I could've been completely wrong, and/or just couldn't remember - I had just gotten off from a 13 hr. shift). Instead of just ending the conversation there, advising me to contact my PCP to get an order, & reschedule she proceeds to point out, repeatedly, where it says an order is needed, repeats how long she's been doing her job (which is 15 years if you missed it the first time, lol) & as I'm walking out of the door, continues to advise me to "read the paper the next time." Freshly off from working a night shift, I 100% could've assumed wrong, and/or misread the form. But to be spoken to how I was, by someone who should know better, & be able to control her tone & emotions at 0800 is a horrible way for anyone to start/end their day. I will not be going back.. The one in Oxnard will get my business, & my referrals. & to whom ever she is, for her face to be the first face someone sees when entering the facility, is disgraceful (to say in the least).

Assuming this meant the Ipads weren't working, I successfully checked in on my phone via the text I received. After waiting a few moments, another patient who had been waiting before me knocked on the exam door because he was also having trouble checking in. An employee came out and rudely said "didn't you read the sign" the gentleman and myself asked if that meant that they were unable to honor our appointments and she snarked back saying "well no wifi means no work". I walked straight out because does no wifi also mean no customer service? Give me a break!

Today, I'm here with my housemate for a fasting draw at 3pm in the afternoon. I didn't starve him and after sleeping all day said he was up for going. Walk ins are welcome and appointments are encouraged. But how busy could it be right? It's NOT busy and the lone little blood drawer made a big effort at looking busy as she sits in her room with one walk in patient waiting and only coming out to greet the people here NOW for their appointment. Was able to tolerate that for about 10 minutes before going and knocking. As I sat there pondering all the things I could be doing I made a mental list of unpleasant tasks I'd RATHER have done than going to Quest. A mammogram, Pap smear, dental x-rays, and an audit were just a few. Granted, they are probably quicker with an appointment but making the lone walk in wait 20 minutes when absolutely nobody was waiting irked me.

When it came time to get a pleurodesis, UCLA specialists were unable to perform the procedure because they couldn't get the treatment fluid through the tube. CMH caused my husband to be sent home without treatment for the pneumothorax. In addition, UCLA found that the IV used by CMH wasn't even in his vein! All of the medication and blood draws failed because they weren't going into his vein!

It was so stressful watching her get poked and poked and no one being able to draw her blood. Nurse Cyndi was able to draw my daughter's blood first try. She was fast and efficient. Not only was she good with my daughter she also made me feel at ease because it's hard for my mom heart to see my daughter uncomfortable when getting her blood drawn. Highly recommend going to nurse Cyndi if you need your child's blood drawn or anyone for that matter!!

I also downloaded the app. If you are looking for an early morning appointment you might not be able to get in for about 2 weeks out as early morning times are popular for fasting bloodwork and for hours before work. The app sent me a reminder about my appointment the day before. When you enter this lab, there is a kiosk for you to check-in. You will need to have your driver's license out and ready because you scan your driver's license. My doctor's office had sent my bloodwork order to Quest 2 weeks ago when I made my appointment but when I saw my Doctor last week, she said it would be a good idea to bring a paper copy of the order with me just in case. She made a good call as Quest did not have my order in the system. Not sure whom was at fault for that but I HIGHLY, highly recommend you have your paper copy of your order with you. I checked in, sat down for not even 2 minutes before I was called back. The technician took my paper copy and entered the information and did my lab work. It was painless, quick, she was gentle and professional.
