As a cosmetologist that has taken many courses to add to my services, this is hands down the most beautiful and clean training facility. I absolutely love the aesthetic and the space! It's great for learning while social distancing. My training was facilitated by the owner herself, who took all precautions. We are talking sanitizer at the door (and every room), two sinks, and spacious stations. I appreciated that she wore and recommended a face shield (on top of mask) as you are in very close proximity to your models. I took the lash lift (perm) and brow lamination course, and I liked the technique and added kit tools for pro tips! We had theory for an hour, a mannequin demo, and live model practice. (Ofcourse you bring your own, which is great during these times for peace of mind.) I was happy that I got the attention I paid for. I had constant monitoring in a class of 4, and kept being corrected to improve my speed as this process is time sensitive and there's no room to build bad habits! I got a lot of feedback and all my questions answered. I enjoyed this class and training center so much that I signed up for the eyebrow threading course this Sunday to enhance my work. So initially I noticed Dotta Ink when I was driving through downtown Downey. I came in as a walk in to get nipple piercings. The person Rice at the front door was very nice and welcoming when I came in. Even though they were in a meeting, he tended to me right away with a smile. You know checking the vibe of a place is always important but they definitely checked that box for me. The piercer Chris came over and asked what I was looking to get and was sooo professional. I signed a form and I was able to voice my concerns. He double checked everything, he was also soo nice and explained the whole process to me. Chris also spoke to me throughout the process and kept me relaxed. Everything went easy and simple. Kind of felt like home honestly. I loved how easy and comfortable the process was. The shop also accepts Zelle so that was a plus! He cleaned me up and gave me aftercare instructions. Even offered further help with any trouble healing. This shop is definitely a vibe! I received my training from the Master herself in a private one on one class and it was the best investment I've ever done on myself. I chose Dotta Ink because my brother has gotten multiple tattoos with Luis and always speaks highly of his experience. I was looking to get a tattoo and texted the number on their website, they reply quickly and were able to get me in early the next day. I really appreciated this because I've had to book tattoos weeks in advance at prior tattoo shops. I was paired with The Doctor, who was very nice throughout the tattoo session. He was very mindful of making sure I liked the placement and sizing of the tattoo or if I needed a break throughout the session. You can tell he's very passionate about his work. Let me start off by saying that Academy is beautiful! It's very vintage-girly with a touch of goth and I'm obsessed with her designing. The academy is well kept, throughly cleaned, and frankly a pleasant environment. However, that's just a bonus, the classes are spot on. Angela is very detailed about the learning process and she isn't just someone is going to take your money and send you off. She continuously checks up on her students and their progress and she there to contribute to help even after class is over to make sure you succeed as an beauty artist. I came in on a Friday night and had a really great experience. David and Marisela were super helpful Marisela helped me right away and she even put my favorite music (she could tell I was nervous) I showed him what I wanted, and he gave me exactly that. His work is very detailed, and you can tell he really knows what he's doing. The whole experience was smooth and comfortable. I came in to get a piercing and I had the pleasure of being pierced by Luis. He was so kind and patient with me! The piercing looks great too. I ended up getting tattooed my him multiple times.
