I've had nothing but positive experiences here. Located in a plaza that only reads "TATTOO" on the plaza business display name. Parking is plentiful. Okay let's just skip to the piercings & tattoo portion. PIERCINGS: I first walked in to have my tragus piercing (that I got while in Vegas) downsized. Zoe was my piercer and was pretty chill. Cost was the service fee ($10-15, I forgot) + price of the jewelry (~45). I next came in hoping for an industrial piercing. Raven explained to me that my ear anatomy is not compatible with the piercing. She was so polite & cute bc when I said my ear was weird, she responded with something like "your ear isn't weird, some people are just not compatible w the piercing!" The first time I visited, I took photographs of some of the jewelry & was OBSESSED w the silver designed cross. Not having the anatomy for an industrial worked in my favour because I was able to get a "flat piercing" with the cross installed :) Raven was very amicable & funny while we were talking during my piercing. She explained exactly what she was doing. I came back a THIRD time because my labret (done years ago in Chicago) kept slipping off & it was time for downsizing anyway. Raven charged the service fee as well as the price of jewelry. COST: They're posted online I believe, but off the top of my head the service fee is $10-15, & the jewelry I picked was $45-50 each. The flat piecing was $40 + $45 jewelry. They have a wonderful selection of jewelry! There are titanium options ($45-50!) And gold options which tbh I didn't even ask the price of, haha. TATTOOS: They have an extensive "flash" tattoo binder & I believe 1 chosen from the book is $99. There are surprisingly some gorgeous tattoos in this binder, which is rare to see in the pre-determined designs tattoo parlors offer. I would definitely come here for a tattoo. I overheard a male employee talking to a guy who wanted a chest tattoo, and while I didn't get the artist's name, his energy was infectious and kind. I will definitely be back, not only to downsize my current flat piercing, but also to have some other work done. Can't wait to see what designs they have for the next Friday the 13th!!! Second visit after receiving excellent service from Asia on my first visit. I returned after losing my septum ring and was quoted $20 with no separate service charge, which was also reflected on the consent form. The first piercer struggled to reinsert the jewelry and eventually handed me off to another piercer, who completed the procedure. However, at checkout I was charged $40. When I mentioned that I had been quoted $20, my concerns were dismissed and I was told, "We can't just charge you less." I paid the full amount, but the lack of ownership and dismissive attitude made the experience uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. read more

I've been to this shop before and had a great experience, which is exactly why this visit was so disappointing. I made an appointment for a simple jewelry change for my Monroe piercing. The piercer began the process and inserted a taper, only to then realize she did not have the correct jewelry (proper post length and backing size) to complete the service. At that point, the procedure had already been started, which caused immediate irritation and swelling, and I ultimately had to leave without the issue being resolved. This is something that should have been confirmed before beginning any work. It turned what should have been a quick, routine appointment into an unnecessarily uncomfortable and frustrating experience. I've had good experiences here in the past, so I would strongly recommend requesting a more experienced piercer and confirming that the correct jewelry is available before your appointment begins. read more

I visited Mr. Inkwells with the intention of re-piercing my upper lobe which I believed had closed up. Asia took a look at my ears and let me know there was a chance the piercing would still be open and was just blocked by a thin layer of scar tissue which she could easily clear. After examining the hole she was able to clear the tissue without having to create a new piercing. The process was relatively painless, and instead of $50, she only charged me $10! I appreciated her honesty and expertise in saving me the pain and extra expense. I chose a beautiful, classic set of studs from their selection of earrings and was on my way. I came to Inkwells multiple times and the piercers were always super nice and welcoming. When i got my belly button done it went smoothly and there were no problems. i got my tongue pierced not even 18 hours ago and the bottom ball unscrewed causing the piercing to fall out. I called back and they said they would see me for free but for a new piercing ball and the installation (if the hole was still open) would be around $15. I don't see how it was my fault and i should have to pay for a mistake that wasn't my own. I paid $75 + a $5 tip for the piercing and when asking for a full or partial refund I was told I could not receive one even though the installation was wrongfully update: I got a call from who i believe is the owner. and was told to come into the shop to get helped. When I showed up he wasn't even there, he said that what i was told about the extra charge wasn't correct information. when i went in i was told that my tongue was irritated and it wouldn't be the smartest idea to re-pierce it. i was given the option to re-pierce that day or come back when its healed. but after this situation i honestly am hesitant to re-pierce here at this shop since it didn't even last 18 hours. I was offered to get a different piercing, applying the money i already paid as a credit towards the new piercing. but when she asked her boss, the man that called me, he said no. i feel like i wasted my money and my time going in there a second day in a row. the woman helping me when i went in was super sweet and understanding of my situation. she even went out of her way to call her boss to see what options i had. she told me he would reach out to me - but its the next day and i never got a call about the situation. read more

I came to this tattoo studio to get something very special to me--a tribute to my dog who had just passed away the day before. I had a general idea of what I wanted: an infinity symbol, paw prints, and her name. The tattoo artist created a design based on that, and while I appreciated the effort, I was a little unsure about the size and the font used, especially given how emotional I was at the time. Another tattoo artist in the shop gave the design their approval, which helped me feel more confident in the moment, so I went forward with it. But now that several months have passed, I find myself a little disappointed. I love the meaning behind the tattoo, but nearly everyone who sees it can't read my dog's name clearly. It seems to come down to one particular squiggly line in the design that I had second thoughts about from the beginning. If there were a way to remove or adjust just that one part, I think it would help a lot. Aside from the design, the scheduling experience also left something to be desired. I walked in that morning hoping to get a same-day appointment and was able to get one later that day, which I appreciated. I showed up on time, but I wasn't seen until about 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment, which was frustrating--especially since I scheduled the appointment specifically to avoid waiting. Lastly, I noticed that Yelp mentioned a complimentary beverage, but that turned out not to be true. It's a small thing, but still worth noting. That said, the tattoo artist was kind and professional throughout, and I do appreciate the time and care he put into the work. This tattoo will always mean a lot to me, but I wish I'd had a little more time and clarity before finalizing the design. If you're going in for something personal, especially while grieving, I'd recommend giving yourself time and making sure you're fully happy with every detail before the ink goes on. read more

I was able to do a walk-in, but appointments are better. Raven helped me! She was super cool, informative, and did a good job. She walked me through the options for nose rings and placement. She suggested a spot on my nose that would work for hoops later if I wanted too. I felt well taken care of. I had a helix piercing done elsewhere about 8-9 months ago that I asked her to check on. She suggested I needed to downsize my bar to reduce irritation, which made sense. She gave me hope that my helix will heal soon enough! Took my nine-year-old daughter to get her ears pierced today, and it was such a great experience. After reading such positive reviews from parents and grandparents taking children for ear lobe piercing, I knew Raven was the right piercer for my slightly anxious daughter. We were greeted promptly upon arrival. Raven introduced herself and talked us through jewelry selection (very upfront about pricing) and the consent form. I explained that my daughter was very excited, but also visibly nervous. The first time I patron this place was on Mother's Day of this year. My daughter had wanted to get pierced for a while and spontaneously decided that this was going to be the day. Much to our dismay, every place we called refused to pierce a five-year-old. How are parents supposed to avoid the piercing guns at places like Claire's if the legit places refuse to do it?! Thankfully the gentleman that answered the phone stated that they would be able to do the piercing. We arrive and were initially told that the piercer could not do someone that young, but fortunately she reassured us that she could. We could not have asked for a better piercer than Asia, who was so sweet, patient, and kind to not only my child, but myself as well. My daughter tolerated the piercing extremely well without any crying or sudden movements, Asia even commented on how well she did. Asia also pierced my ears and gave us very clear instructions on aftercare. I came back for Friday the 13th specials and got pierced by Angelica, who was equally as kind as Asia. Angelica had a very calming and gentle presence so she would also be a great fit for anyone that has piercing anxiety. I am not certain if technique has anything to do with it or location, but I did note that there was more bleeding with my first piercing, compared to the second, but both seem to have healed just fine. I made a same day appointment because my daughters ear piercing fell out and the hole seemed to be closed. When we got there we waited 45 minutes after our appointment to be looked at for 2 seconds and told they couldn't do anything about it. Apparently their piercer was out. I don't know why they didn't mention this when we first came in or when we made the appointment a few hours earlier. I went in to talk to someone about it because if all it required was a 2 second look I don't know why it had to be such an ordeal. No one greeted me. There were 3 guys sitting in the tattoo section just talking. The piercer was chatting with what seemed like a group of friends and doing her hair in front of the mirror.
