But unfortunately I never got the estimate this owner claims. I did actually call and I was told "we're working on it and will have the estimate to you within the next week" - this was 2 weeks after the estimate was supposed to be emailed to me. Fortunately I did find wonderful contractors who did actually come to my house twice, once for the initial consultation and once more to double check the ascetics before finalizing the estimate- this other company I ended up hiring and was very happy. The job was $47,000 and this other company did a beautiful job.

"Papa" Joe and his crew are a true blessing as they helped us in our time of need. We suffered a minor electrical fire that was compounded by the ensuing smoke and water damage. In the initial hours following the fire, half a dozen "restoration" companies descended upon us looking for business. FDNY had just entered the premises as two competing reps approached us on the sidewalk to give us their sales pitch. I've never had the misfortune of swimming in open water and being encircled by man-eating sharks; but there is a relatable feeling when sales reps come knocking as firemen are breaking windows to vent out smoke. I cannot attest if those other companies are good or bad; I just know that Joe and his ServiceMaster team are a blessing! They were recommended by our insurance co., but God ultimately provided.
