Hubby had some troubles getting the battery swapped. I'm not very savvy about cars, so I can't tell you exactly what the trouble was. Something about the battery having been drained and the electrical system not allowing us to do ...whatever was needed. So Hubby went back into the store to see if the clerk had any ideas. Not content to simply stand behind the counter and offer suggestions, the clerk came out to our car and spent several minutes trying different things with Hubby. Ultimately, the solution involved some sort of safety switch hidden someplace no sane person would normally think of looking. While the clerk located and pushed the safety thingie, Hubby was able to get the car started. It seemed easy, but only if you know about the super-secret button. The clerk was very kind, very generous with his time, and very patient. Automotive stores all seem to be pretty much the same, really. But employees who care and are knowledgeable and patient are what makes this one stand out.

No one else was in the store and there were 2 people she could see working there. They told her "WE COULD NOT DO AN INSTALL at this time". She needed the battery to ensure she has transportation to the hospital when the time comes. Needless to say the two working in the store COULDN'T HAVE CARED LESS! I went into this O'Reilly store and looked for any kind of smell neutralizer I could find. I chose 3 different products and took them up to the counter. Both employees looked straight up at me and said "So your car smells." And I smiled and said yes and explained the situation. They asked me if I had checked the cabin filter, and I asked the what? And they explained that no amount of smell neutralizers would help if the filter was dirty. They explained kindly that they weren't trying to upsell me, and I felt very at ease that they weren't. So without hesitation, the one (I believe his name was Rob) went outside with me in the cold and helped me remove my old cabin filter, and lo and behold it was super dirty. We tossed it, went back inside and I bought a new one, and then he offered to go BACK outside with me to install the new one!! So incredibly helpful, in the cold, and without hesitation! I went in for assistance because I had a jammed headlight that needed replaced and was having a…read moreheck of a time trying to get it out. I had the replacement headlight in hand, the cover to the unit off for easier access, and the connector disconnected prior to stepping inside. The place wasn't busy. I was the only customer for a few minutes until another couple came in. An older lady greeted me and I explained what I needed. There was a guy who was helping someone outside. She ask him when he came back in if he would help. You wouldn't even know the guy worked there. He was in jeans, a grey t-shirt, and a ball cap looking like a regular customer. She asked him, and with his head down doing something else said "no, not doing it". I looked at him and said "really?!" I got ignored, no acknowledgement, only flat out refusal. She gave me this look like as to say "well, sorry I tried" . Didn't even attempt to try anything with her nonchalant stance at the counter. Customer service was absolute bs. I know O'Riley's offers free bulb installation. I've gone to this location plenty of times with no issues, great customer service and assistance, top notch effort Even a response such as "Yes, let me finish what I'm doing and I'll help you out" or " No sorry, I won't be able to" would have been nice. At least something else rather than a complete disregard for customer service.

I went into this store today looking for some cleaning supplies for my car. I was on the phone with…read moremy mother and just walking around trying to look for anything I needed. No one greeted me, i didn't even see any employees around in the store. The prices were higher than my liking so I decided to leave. When I got into my car, there was an employee that was standing directly in front of the door of O'reilly staring at me. He literally had the meanest look and just watched me the whole time leaving the parking lot. It made me feel really uncomfortable and confused because where were you in the store and why are you trying to seem like you're guarding the place. It was a very odd situation and I felt like he thought he was doing something by watching me from inside the store. Like what was your purpose?

My Brother-in-Law swears by this place. I have been here several times and the service is top…read morenotch. I took him here today because he thought my sister's alternator was bad. Had it tested twice and it passed. They then tested her battery, it was bad. Even though they had ordered an alternator for him (which arrived in 20 minutes) he finds out he just needed a new battery instead. Great service! Make sure you know how to get to this strip mall before you come. You have to turn off Maple to the west of this mall to get there.

Watch out for the manager Bob. He thinks he owns the place and makes his own rules on return…read morepolicies. We went in there to see if they had a part we needed, we asked if we could try it and then if it doesn't work simply return it. (We've done this numerous times with AutoZone as they are notorious for selling the wrong part.) He told us no, that we cannot return the part once purchased. I called up there to ask what their return policy is, and he could not give a clear answer. I asked if this is his policy or corporate policy and he would not answer my question. Finally, he agreed to letting us come back and purchasing the part and then return if it doesn't work. We won't be returning because for all we know he could change his mind again and not let us return. He probably shouldn't be managing a team if this is how he treats customers.

The passenger side had no shims and makes noise. Contacted the store, they didn't want to fix it as it was too close to closing time, but purchased another caliper from Autozone, so I fix the car myself after paying $480. The general manager said they would refund my payment and that did not happen. I could have done this job myself the first time for under $200 in the daytime instead of having to break it down to avoid an accident.

Purchased a 5 year battery that only lasted 2 1/2 years and took it back to get a new battery but,…read moreInterstate battery was closed. I had to purchase a new battery from another supplier but returned to Interstate the following day to get a refund on the remaining warranty. I was told the warranty was no longer valid since I did not purchase the new battery from them. I had to purchase a battery from somewhere else so I was able to get to work that day. I even asked for a store credit and was denied. The manager told me that the warranty is only good if I continue to purchase batteries from them. I paid $169.99 for a battery that only lasted though 1/2 it's life and was there is nothing they could do. This is very poor customer service and I will not recommend or ever return to Interstate battery again! Update: After talking with a represenative from the main office in IA and the business manager they determined that there will be no action taken for the warranty left on my battery. DO NOT PURCHASE AN INTERSTATE BATTERY...IT DOES NOT COME WITH A WARRANTY!
