Was lucky enough to get 2 road bikes the same day I requested them. Affordable compared to the competition in the area. I think we paid about 90 bucks total for the full day which yes, is expensive overall but it's a tourist town so I think planning ahead of time to pay up is probably the right call. Staff was friendly, helped adjust the seat height, aired up the tires and taught us how to change the wheel or patch a hole if need be. This is my favorite bike shop in Moab! Dustin and his mechanics are friendly, do a great job, and are always happy to teach you something about bikes. I've rented top end bikes from them, had service done, and they really helped me out when I needed my frame warrantied. I recommend stoping in even if you don't need anything, but just to talk bikes with Dustin. They also have a great selection of tools and bikes necessities. read more

There are quite a few bike rental shops in Moab and this is the BEST ONE! We brought our 12 year old in, they fitted him with the perfect bike, showed him the ropes and gave him everything he needed to shred as a beginner. Double Down was awesome for a week-long mountain bike rental. They had good selection even though I was booking pretty last-minute, and their web booking portal was easy & intuitive. Pickup and dropoff were quick, and the staff was super helpful. Started out with flat pedals and got them to switch me to SPD's halfway through, which they were super nice about. Every time I interacted with folks in real life COVID precautions seemed to be taken seriously - didn't see any of the "oh shit a customer's here quick put masks back on" stuff that I've seen in a couple other shops. We were in a bind because we had already scheduled a shuttle for the next day but he was able to find the needed parts and fix it in time! Friendly shop with good equipment and prices. I rented 2 bikes for a day and a trailer hitch bike rack. My son and I weren't planning on hitting it very hard. The girl who helped us was honest and didn't recommend the extra insurance coverage. There were no issues returning the bikes and we really enjoyed the experience, quick and painless. This bike shop is amazing. I needed some shifter cables and housings. Monty quickly made up some cable housings and then installed them and gave me a tune up. It feels like a new bike now. We recently spent a day mountain biking near Moab, Utah, and we rented our bikes from Double Down Bike Rentals. I had reserved bikes online, and accidentally reserved an e-bike for my wife. No problem at Double Down. Dustin bang-snap swapped her the right bike, popped a bike rack on no charge (we had planned to put then in our truck bed), gave us a refund for the e-bike/mountain bike price difference. Dustin also gave us suggestions where to ride for our experience level. We were in and out in 20 minutes. The bikes were awesome and we had a great day. Dropped off the bikes at 4:45, also seemless! Monty saved my weekend by replacing my derailleur cable, straightening my derailleur hanger, switching out my brake pads and checking my brakes. Monty did this all in a matter of hours, allowing me to ride my last day in Moab at Slickrock. This type of service would have taken 1 week back in Denver, CO. We were passing through Moab (enroute from Kodachrome State Park to Arches and needed to get one of the eBikes fixed up, including fixing the broken chain. The trail in Kodachrome had chewed us up and spit us out! The guys at Double Down did a great job of fixing the chain, and adjusting and checking everything on both of our bikes (Surly Krampus frames with Luna eBike parts.) We arrived at 5:30 PM and all was done as promised by noon the next day. Both bikes performed much more smoothly. and better, after the adjustments. Newer shop, off the main strip. Dustin and his team are much more like an old school shop. Laid back, no attitude. Optimized my suspension in the spot. Rented two sweet niners. Great service. Some of the bigger shops in Moab have issues with rude employees (unless you are Danny mcaskill or whatever) and just don't get it. Come check this place out. It's worth getting off the tourist trap strip. read more

Long story short is these guys are fantastic both in customer service and technical ability to resolve issues (quickly). Other shops in town were telling me 5-6 hours to even take a look at my bike, and these guys got me in and out in less than an hour. Not an optimal scenario when you're only in town for a day or two. Another shop in town recommended Dustin and his crew, so I gave it a shot. It was apparent in watching them work, they absolutely know what they're doing and they committed to doing whatever they can to take care of you. I wish they were local to where I live, I'd be a loyal customer without a doubt. Do yourself a favor and skip the other shops in town and check these guys out first.
