Awesome day. We had a trip scheduled two weeks prior with a different guide, he was a no show. Nijal saved the day, booked us and we had amazing time fishing Lake Tahoe! 10/10 would recommend!!

Hands down the best fishing trip ever! Had a great time and caught some fish! He was professional but felt like family, there were laughs, master Baiters, pole holders, fish bras and just a plane ol' good time. Will definitely be telling friends and family about Double Down and will be booking with him again soon hopefully before the season ends!

Such a great experience thank you sooo much!

My husband and 3 kids went out with Nijel on an AMAZING fishing trip at South Lake Tahoe. To begin with.. from the 1st phone call he had amazing customer service and very quick response. I let him know my boys were all about being hands on and want to be sure he was VERY kid friendly.. He said of course not to worry as he has a couple of young children himself. They right away started catching fish, But the best part was how he treated out children... he let them do everything and I mean everything on the boat and dedicated all of his energy toward them I can thank him enough for such a great experience our kids will never forget.

We had a great time fishing with Nijal. He's the best captain on the lake and worked hard to make sure we had a great experience.

We were trying to find the perfect spot to take our 7yr old fishing. Since we were staying on the north shore, it was a 1hr drive to get here. We drove here on a whim and it worked out. FREE parking. Low key. Mellow. Not crazy busy. Secluded feeling. Plenty of shade. Pets on leash welcome. Nice outhouses. We saw a bear at the pond just 40 yards in front of us. August 2026. He was minding his own business. Everyone was very friendly and shared their worms with us. We didn't catch anything but that's okay. We had fun. We spent 3.5hrs there all for free. Better than blowing money at an arcade.

I discovered this pond last summer and am so glad I did. My kids (5, and 8) have taken some sincere interest in fishing and Sawmill was the perfect place to teach them some basics. There's a large parking lot and easy access to the shoreline of the pond with some quality shade opportunities to fish from. During the weekday afternoon we were there, the traffic was light and we had a lot of choices on where to fit. Sadly the time of day probably didn't help us get bites, but we had some chances to catch and a lot of quality time together. I imagine if you hit this on the right day near a stocking, the bite could get hot and really hook a kid on fishing. This is a great community resource that is largely frequented by locals. It presents a good opportunity to get your kids out fishing and I highly recommend you get it on your radar for a future visit.

The booking process and attention Lyndsay gave with feedback and answering questions was professional and quick. We appreciated the honesty and couldn't have asked for better value in the investment of these memories made! Both charters we were lucky enough to have Captain Heather. When we went out with the kids, she was very patient and kind in helping them learn how to wakeboard. The water was a bit choppy that day, but Captain Heather was gracious enough to find the best possible spots for the kids to have fun! She gave some fun facts as we passed by various locations. When we went out again several days later with our friends, we were happy to have the same level of professionalism and FUN with Captain Heather. She really meshed with our group's vibe and offered us a fun mix of enjoying site-seeing, wakeboarding & tubing, and even a quick stop in at Chamber's Landing! I would absolutely recommend Lake Tahoe Boat Rides and will most definitely book with them again. Thank you to Lyndsay & Heather for being a part of these memories created!!!

After we called around all other businesses, such as this, we realized that Lake Tahoe boat rides was the most professional and upfront about their prices. Many companies didn't let me know that fuel and captain fees would be tacked on at after the ride as well as a certain gratuity. Sneaky! Once we arrived at Lake Tahoe, Boat Rides, Lindsay, the owner and everyone else was super friendly and helpful. They have a store with food/drinks, towels etc.. but they tell you in advance that you can pick it up elsewhere. They helped us carry our bags over to the perfectly clean and well maintained boat complete with our own captain who was incredible!!!!! Ask for Steve-O!!!! I do believe no matter who you get as a captain that you will have an amazing experience as we did. Steve-O was friendly and great with our 4 1/2 year-old. He provided just the right amount of history and information as we rode along and also took us to less touristy places that were also beautiful and so worth seeing. We cannot wait to come back and see Lake Tahoe boat rides next summer, and we will definitely be asking for Steve-O.

Everyone was very friendly. The campsite is very level and perfect for riding bikes. The bathrooms have real toilets and showers and we're pretty clean. We loved our stay! The only weird thing is that we purchased a parking pass for the parking lot to be closer to the lake since we had kayaks to bring in. The lady that sold us the pass told us that she sells unlimited passes, despite there only being about 20 spots. We asked if that meant that even though we purchase a spot, does that mean there's a possibility of not getting a spot? And she said yes! I don't understand this method of selling parking passes. They should find a better way otherwise they are just taking peoples money for no reason... we bought a pass at 7:30 am and went up to the lot at 9am and we got one of the last spots. That's a big bummer for anyone else buying a pass.

Five stars for Capt. Andrew and The Professor!…read more I've lived in Reno since 2008 and never knew anyone who really fished Lake Tahoe. As my kids have come to enjoy fishing, I've found myself looking for new experiences we can share, so when we found ourselves in the area for Spring Break, my wife and I booked this trip for all of us. I'd been following Andrew on social media for about a year, so he was my first call. From his consistent presence online and catches, I could tell that he knew the lake, ran a tight ship, and knew how to get on the fish, so we booked individual seats (nearly had a private boat) and met him at Round Hill Pines for a 7:30am departure. Andrew had the whole boat ready to roll with a well full of live bait, rods rigged for a variety of approaches, and a game plan on where we'd be going and what we'd be doing. Upon my request, he gave us a deep dive on what we were doing, how the fish would react, what to look for, how to fight them and anything else you might want to know about the lake and fishery. We trolled live baits and caught big lake trout. It was fun to tend the rods under his command and even more fun watching the kids faces light up as these large freshwater fish took the baits and eventually came over the rails. Andrew was awesome at making sure everyone had a great time and got on the fish. The kids really loved his high energy and fed into helping him "run the boat". The icing on the cake was eating the fish themselves. I had heard these lake trout weren't good eating but that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, this is THE reason to get on this boat IMHO. I'm stoked to have a few more meals left in the freezer and looking forward to another trip for more. BEST OF ALL... if the fish aren't biting you're still getting a cruise on Lake Tahoe, which can run about the same on one of the larger yachts!
