I called at 8 AM to have them fix a sprinkler system that wouldn't shut off. They said a guy would be out between 3 pm and 5 pm. I received a call after 3 saying that their truck broke down and they couldn't make it. After explaining my situation the guy came in his own car but couldn't fix anything since he didn't have any tools or supplies. He then called his boss and they said another guy would come out. Four hours later still no one arrived. I called the first guy's cell phone and he gave me their emergency number. Called it and no answer. I left a message and no one ever called back. After calling back a few times I gave up and called someone else. I'd think twice before calling them for service. They left me hanging all day with a sprinkler system that would not shut off. I could've called someplace competent that could've had it fixed in an hour. Buyer beware. read more

This is the third time we've used these guys, and they're great. Very nice and easy to book over the phone, and no trouble getting a convenient appointment. They also tell you who will be coming, which is nice. The first time, they did a full system checkup and made sure everything was working efficiently and programmed correctly. The last two times they came our for system repairs, it was nice because they already had all our information in the system - felt like they remembered us and valued us a repeat customers. I was impressed with the water conservation they touted so I called for an estimate on a new install and was quickly called for an appointment. The salesman was friendly and seemed to know irrigation. I accepted the bid and gave half payment in September of 2015. It was relayed to me my project was 4-5 on the list and they are about a 4 weeks out. Texas saw lots of heavy ran which delayed the install but I never received ANY calls to inform me. I gave the benefit of doubt and waited ANOTHER month. I called assuming I had been taken, but the owner/manager(?) confirmed they are delayed do to weather. I explained if they could contact me to keep me up to date. Another month goes by and I make another call and hear the same story. They are behind and I am still in the same spot. I mentioned I feel like I'm getting the run around and worried my money is gone. The manager/owner explained as in the previous call they still have to get the permit and I will get an email when they come to 'flag' the property for utility lines. Fast forward to Jan 2016 from September (still no communication), but this time I noticed some irrigation supplies left on the property. I had no clue. I never got a call. No email and no contact of when they will install. A few days go by and surprise! I get a knock on my door. My weekend off where I have many things planned is ruined. The crew is here to install. I know it couldn't be the install crew's fault but now I was forced to reschedule all of my appointments and sit home for two days. The crew worked hard in the cold and at the end explained how to function the control panel. I hope the company follows up on warranty work as it came with 3 years, but based on the lack of communication - the office is not being manage properly. I feel like I could have also gotten better value afterwards and I didn't even get a follow up call to see how the install went and/or if I had any questions or problems. Bad customer service for being uncommunicative. I hope I don't have problems in the years to come. read more

Just had a French drain installed by DES. I am so happy with the service and how professional this company is. Chas came out to give me an estimate, I didn't have to wait a few days he wrote it right there on the spot. Mario is an amazing crew leader, the job was done in half a day! Called to make an appointment for sprinkler repair estimate. First phone call went fine, then I received email confirming appointment, it did not have the time originally requested. I called back to correct to desired time, after some clarification, later appointment confirmed. Shortly thereafter, I received another email, confirming yet again, the wrong time frame. I promptly responded to email, in the hopes that a message would clarify desired times. As I am home waiting, I call company to ask if someone was coming, because it was 20 minutes until end of time frame and had not received a call. I was put on an extensive hold, only to find out that estimates are not free. (Not an issue, I was willing to pay for the estimate.) I was then told, it would be 35-45 minutes before someone could get to my house. I canceled, and no, I do not want to reschedule. After that phone call, I received an email from them stating that their person canceled my 1 pm appointment (I requested 3-5p). I made initial phone request by phone 5 days prior. Very unreliable, disappointing, and a waste of my time. read more

I filed this formal complaint with the BBB against Robert Coleman and his company, Double Eagle Sprinkler Corp. for failure to complete the sod replacement project that I contracted them to do. In addition, I would like to make the public aware of their unethical business practices of trying to charge me extra money for work they did without providing any notification that there would be an additional charge for that work. On top of that, I experienced the absolute worst customer service I can ever remember from the owner of this company, Robert Coleman. The owner! During this ordeal, he instructed me to purchase two separate herbicides to apply to my lawn in an attempt to save it from being overrun with weeds and my old lawn coming up through the sod. He told me that he would reimburse me for that purchase which ended up being $44.32. Not only have I not received this reimbursement, he wrote in an email that he refuses to reimburse me unless I pay him the extra money I referenced above AND an additional $300 for warranty work. To top that off, he blamed the poor sod installation on bad sod from the sod company and got them to send him new sod. Robert's guys came and tore out the old sod, and put in the new sod but came up about 20 yards short. Now I have a bare area in my yard with no grass and he wants me to pay him extra to complete the warranty work to replace the grass he originally installed! I have no complaints on the sprinkler installation, but I would still proceed with extreme caution if you plan to do business with this company. And if you want new sod, go with a company where it's their primary business, not something they do on the side like this one. read more

More impressively, 18 months later when I called about a slightly related plumbing question, they went above and beyond to help me when any other company would have written me off and told me to talk to a plumber. It showed me that they care about keeping their customers happy, even years after the customer's only purchase. That type of long term commitment is invaluable when trying to find vendors for various home related needs. Not impressed at all . . . I had a valve get stuck on my system in February. I had this company out and they suggested that I replace my cut off valve (which made sense - the old one was REALLY rusted) and get the system winterized, which I did. Part of the winterizing package is to have someone come out and turn the system back on and check the sprinkler heads. I had the person out to check the system and everything was fine. So you can imagine how surprised I was when a sprinkler head was broken next to the house and nearly flooded my kitchen through my back door the next time the system ran. I called the company and they sent someone out who actually found two broken sprinkler heads (I'm not sure how the first guy missed them). He also found that the valve, which is what I had originally called about, was still leaking. So I had to schedule that repair for a few days later. I work until noon every day, so I chose their 12-7pm time to have a tech out and was very clear that it would have to be afternoon. My confirmation email said that my appointment was 7am to noon. I called to correct this problem and got to hear about all the scheduling woes of the company, none of which are really my problem as a customer. The day of my appointment, which was a Friday, I received a call that the techs were behind and I'd have to reschedule for the following Monday. That did not please me as it hadn't rained in a while and my lawn unhappy, but I didn't see where I could do anything about it. So I rescheduled. Monday came and the tech came out, confirmed that it was indeed a valve problem, and dug the valve up, and left a good three foot hole in my lawn. He then said he needed to get to another appointment in Coppell and would return with the part later in the day. He never came back. I called the company and again got to hear about the scheduling problems that they seem to be plagued with and was told that they would work me in 'sometime this week'. At which point I told them that they would need to finish the job that day or the next or I'd hire another company. They did FINALLY come out and complete the repair the following day. However, there is no way on earth I will ever use this company again. Unless you have infinite patience to deal with their inability to schedule and keep appointments and apparent inability to do a proper sprinkler inspection stay a long way away from this company. read more

They didn't show up for an afternoon appointment, but called to say they wanted to re-schedule for later. They scheduled an appointment for Saturday between 11- 1. They did not show up or call. I emailed them and called them, leaving a message. They did not respond at all. Don't waste your time like I did. read more

Fine job with repairing sprinklers. Although they didn't show up on the date we originally scheduled. They did a sloppy landscape job for us...planting, stone work, cleanup, mulch, etc. Make sure to get a writen estimate from these guys as they added "extras" to my bill that they said we included in the job. Great service on line and First visit was very quickly done and very fair One month later one of the sprinkler heads shot up in the air and water was shooting 10 feet in the air. I called and was told that they would have a repair man out. I was not home but my adult son met the repairman. I wasn't really expecting a charge since work is suppose to be guaranteed. My son told me that I was charged a service charge fee and charge for sprinkler head. Oh well - I was taken aback but sprinkler is fixed. We requested service from Double Eagle in October 2015 to cap a couple of heads and address a couple of sprinkler heads I was concerned about. Paul, the Technician came out and promptly identified and addressed the issues and also capped the requested heads . I have also used their services in the past for system maintenance and to change from spray heads to rotary heads. First , I will give this company credit for arriving on time. The purpose for me hiring this company was to repair a few broken heads. The service guy pointed out other things he claim needed to be repair. I okay the repair and paid him $230 on 6/4/16. I was instructed not to turn on the sprinklers for an hour. Before the guy began the repairs on 06/04/16, all 6 stations were working properly. However, the repair guy did not perform a walk through after the repairs and a week or 2 had past before I realize that station #5 was not working at all. I call this company for the service guy to come out to address this problem. On 07/02/16, the service guy tells me it will cost me $300 to repair a part that was working just fine before he began the repairs. I explain to the service guy that this is the area in which he repaired the broken pipe. I became very upset because he had had to many excuses as to why station #5 was not working. I call the company and spoke to Robert Coleman, Owner. Mr. Coleman is very, very very rude. I was told to shut up, stand down, be quite, and hung up on numerous times. I express to Mr. Coleman that I will be contacting an attorney for this botched up job his repair guy did. I do not recommend single females to conduct business with this company.
