O No!A sprinkler head busted beneath my brick garden landscaping. I didn't even realize it was there it's been under there for years and never leaked. I called several local companies only to be told April as quick as they can get out, until I talked to Thrive Outdoor Solutions who to my surprise could be out in a couple days, WooHoo! They scheduled for 10am this morning and John and Josh showed right on time at 10am and got right to work and within normal time had the problem repaired and replaced and all was good once again. Update: The owner commented on my review with platitudes and explanations that they don't do repairs (as if I'm dense), but that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that I called asking to have a *new* irrigation system installed... Review stays at one star. I found this company on Yelp and called them based on their mostly good reviews. I purchased a home that previously had a drip line irrigation system, but when the owner passed their adult children didn't know what it was and pulled up the drip lines. The lady who answered was very polite, but when I first explained what was going on and asked if they did foundation irrigation systems, she said she didn't know and would have to ask. No big deal... Until she clarified by telling me that since they're in the busy season, my job wasn't big enough for them to do and that they're only doing jobs where they install complete sprinkler systems right now. Umm okay. What's hilarious is that my sprinkler system is completely jacked up and I would've given them that business as well if they'd considered me important enough to take my money and help with my foundation irrigation. Called Thrive Solutions to move/repair 2 sprinkler heads next to a retaining wall I am building. Consulted with Alex about another zone that I feel was not being properly irrigated. He recommended that I add another sprinkler head to help cover the zone better. He had it installed in about 30 minutes. He also adjusted a couple of other heads. The rates were reasonable and the repairs/additions are working great. Even gave a one year warranty. My customer experience was excellent. read more

Shout out to Chris and Aaron with Thrive Outdoor Solutions. My Hunter Pro HC 24 zone controller died last weekend (21 months old). I sent a service request to Thrive via the web on Sunday, August 14. Chris called early next day, Monday morning, August 15. I told him about issues and that I had rebooted controller and it never came back. He said someone would be out Tuesday to resolve. Got message taht someone would be out at 1:30pm. Aaron texted Tuesday and had cancellation and asked if he come out early, then showed up at 8:30am and replaced the controller with a brand new one, back in business. Can't do any better than that! Many companies install irrigation systems. I'm betting few provide such excellent and fast warrany customer service. Good job guys! read more

We used thrive fixing a sprinkler leak, adding additional heads, replacing heads and just a once over on our existing system for better coverage. We called to get an estimate date and the employee Manny showed up on time. We went over everything that was to be done and he offered some suggestions but was not at all pushy. the estimate was very reasonable considering what was involved. we agreed and the appointment was was made. Manny arrived exactly on time. He was very professional and courteous. We went over again what was to be done and he got started. he stated that there was an area that already had a line so he wouldn't need to put one in and he stated that would bring our bill down, which it did. when we did the end walk through I decided i wanted another sprinkler head and he said no problem and went to work putting it in. and yes that did bring the cost up again but not to the original amount. our sprinklers have super coverage now, no leak and all is in great order! Manny did a great job! since we have lived in our house some 20 years we have used probably 8-10 difference sprinkler companies and we were disappointed with all of them. Not sure what's going on there. They repaired an issue a few months ago, I was super happy. When my drip lines needed fixed after some shrubs were removed, I thought I knew who to call. I called on a Thursday morning and was told someone could come Monday afternoon (they are closed weekends and the following day was a holiday). No big deal, I can wait a few days. Monday I sat home all day waiting. And waiting. And waiting. I finally called at 4pm and got vm. I left a polite message, thinking maybe I had misunderstood something. I never heard back. Called and had them come repair my sprinkler system. They came, figured out the problem, and gave me a quote. I told them to go ahead and repair my sprinkler system. They said, okay, and they would email me the invoice. They left without repairing my sprinkler system and I never heard back from them. I called Superior Sprinkler Services, and they came out same day, and fix my sprinkler system within the hour. I got quoted $300 by BNC lawn care and paid $135 to Superior Sprinkler Services, for the same repair. Don't waste your time!!!!! Update**** Chris, the owner contacted me today and apologized several time for the inconvenience. He sounds like a stand up guy. Sucks that this happened, because I typically use the same companies for all my work and let friends and family know when I have a great company doing work for me. read more

Where other companies said that they could not meet with me for 2 weeks, Thrive Outdoor Solutions came to see me the next day. Everything was clearly explained to me, and they have a state-of-the-art customer communication system. The installers did everything in one day, and accommodated a couple of my special requests. The sales engineer showed me how to use the system the next day. This installation was for my mother's house. I am jealous that her system is 10 times better than my own. Thrive did an ok job installing my sprinkler system. They walked through the job after installation, every thing I pointed out I thought could be better there was a reason that it was that way, not ok we will address that. When it came time for payment they took the final payment out of my account without a phone call or anything. Still haven't received a receipt. I actually told accountant and fieldman that I wanted to pay part credit card ,part cash. Since they had my account info from down payment they just took it with no call or warning. Good thing for me I had enough money in that account or could have bounced bills or caused a number of problems. They are good at communication when they want your business, but after they are not as interested. read more

We used Thrive to install a new sprinkler system. This experience was fabulous from beginning to end. We were putting in a sprinkler system in our very first home. I called and spoke with Chris and he gave me a general idea of pricing over the phone. I then got quotes and estimates from 3 other companies. Thrive was not the best price, but I was looking for a company that would stand behind their work and I felt I could trust. I decided to hire Thrive and they exceeded my expectations. Chris listened to my concerns before he did the design and then sent me a perfect sprinkler design that addressed the issues in the yard. The communication during the process was amazing, I always knew what was going on. The crew arrived on time and the system was installed in 1 day. Very sad. I called BNC because of their great Yelp posts but I unfortunately did not have a great experience. I sent a request to schedule an estimate, they were fast and courteous when scheduling. The owner showed up and performed a very detailed assessment of my system, he was very well spoken and very well informed on irrigation. He said it would be a day or two before he could write up my quote. Several days later still no quote. I had to call and send an email just to get the quote. When I finally got the quote I called and requested that the owner call me to discuss but he never did. A week later I sent an email saying I wanted to schedule the work but needed payment options, they never called back. So they were five star service up till presenting and quoting. I tried to give them money but they never called me back. I still think it's a great company. They just need more follow up and follow through. I wish they could have done my sprinklers I would have preferred them over the company that is doing the work. read more

Chris came back out today to fix a problem I should have probably called a plumber for. I trust this guy so much, I knew if nothing else I could get an honest evaluation of what I would need to do. We just moved to Texas a couple months ago and bought our first home. Needless to say I am a complete noob when I comes to all things lawn care. After a couple weeks I started to notice my irrigation system wasn't working very well. After I had broken two sprinkler heads I decided to call an irrigation specialist to educate me on my new to me system and fix the broken heads. Chris had aaa minute cancelation and was able to come by. He showed up on time and was super cool and straight forward. He did a full inspection of my system and broke down everything. He gave me a no pressure estimate that was fair given the level of service I was provided. He let me follow him and his helper around while he fixed all the problems and showed me how to do everything he was doing, while educating me on lawn maintenance, watering cycled ect. The sprinkler system in one of our rent houses was not working. I left messages for several other companies. They NEVER returned my calls. Chris called me back in less than 5 minutes. We set the appointment. He called me when he was on his way, and he was on time. I met him at the house, he told me up front what it would cost. I had to leave so he continued to work on my rent house while I was gone. At various intervals, he would text me pictures of the problems he found and the work he was doing to fix them. Once he found the problem, it was more extensive than first thought. Chris took the time to call me and give me the updated estimate before he did the extra work. Well worth it! While doing a weekend project of removing and redesigning our front flower bed, my husband cracked one of our irrigation pipes. I found Chris' information on Yelp, saw his stellar reviews, and called to see if he was open and available on Sunday. Being that it was a Sunday afternoon, we were worried no one would be able to help. Chris immediately returned my call, was very helpful on the phone, and for an extra fee, since it was Sunday, he came to the rescue. He fixed the cracked pipe with ease and, as a part of his standard service, checked our irrigation system to make sure it was all working properly. We had a few short sprinklers and nozzles facing the wrong way. He adjusted them and even taught us about our sprinkler system, watering for spring/summer, etc. Chris is professional, friendly, efficient, and wonderful! I can't say enough good things about this company. Chris was very professional. He obviously takes a lot of pride in his business and his customer service is unparalleled. I'm selling my home and of course, as luck would have it, the sprinkler system decided it would stop working just before the inspection. I called Chris late Tuesday night and he came out to inspect the problem the next day. He repaired the system and replaced my rain/freeze sensor all within an hour. He provided options to me throughout the whole process and even told me I could always replace the sensor myself if I wanted to save a little money, but I chose to let them do it for me. He emailed an invoice and even a receipt before he left. This day and age when it seems like customer service is a lost skill and businesses care more about their bottom line than their clients; it's refreshing to know there are still a few good folks out there who treat their clients with respect and integrity. After my failed attempt at digging a hole resulted in severing the sprinkler line I decided we werent going to have another summer without the sprinklers. I called Chris after reading his reviews on Yelp. He was completely up front and fair on pricing, every step was my decision before the work was done. It was discovered that with my impeccible aim I have taken out the main line and the electrical wiring in one fail swoop. He stayed late and fixed that then came back to finish some more work that I had damaged the prior year trying to dig in the backyard. I have no hesitation giving BNC Lawn Care 5 stars (I would give them 6 if I could). Chris is very genuine and honest, and I will go to BNC if I need their services in the future. I had a drainage problem in my backyard which required a french drain. I got a phone call from Chris while he was working on the project, and he told me that he figure out most of the problem was coming from a leaking gutter. A much smaller french drain was required saving me $700. So it's clear that his interest is in being honest and saving the customer money wherever possible. It started to rain heavily in the middle of the project. He normally would have left the project and came back the next day, but he didn't want an open hole present in the backyard since I have dogs, so he decided to finish the drain in rain and crazy mud. At the end of the project, Chris gave me another call and told me the sod at the store he went to wasn't very good quality. He could've just used that sod, put it down, and been done with the project. Instead, he used man hours the next day to find a better quality sod to put down in my backyard. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone facing sprinkler or drainage problems. I had never dealt with a sprinkler system before, and I recently moved into a house with one that I knew had one or two issues based on a home inspection. Thrive came out and fixed the sprinkler issues I called them for, which was great. When they were done fixing the issues I knew about, I asked if they could take a look to see if they could identify any other problems with the system. Then, with me watching the entire time, they showed me how the system also had 11 cracked/leaking heads, a 2nd lateral line break, and a mainline break caused by a tree crushing a junction box. They fixed it all for me, and I now have a sprinkler system I have confidence in. In addition to helping with my sprinkler system, they also helped me address an issue with my retaining wall. My home inspector and structural engineer pointed out water had been building up behind the retaining wall directly behind a notable crack and lean in the wall. The inspector and engineer recommended redirecting water from the gutter downspouts to the street instead of being directed towards the retaining wall. I called Thrive and they said they could add that drain line to the street (which included drilling a hole in the curb). However, they also pointed out how the ground level wasn't reaching the top of the retaining wall and explained how that was also a huge factor in the water buildup behind the retaining wall. Water is supposed to flow over the top of the wall. So, I also had them add soil, sod and graded it so water would run over the top of the wall like it's supposed to. read more

Chris showed up the next morning after I called...determined that it was a bad valve instead of a leak... he checked the entire system and adjusted heads as needed and fixed the valve. We've had drainage issues in our back yard for a couple of years and decided to have a french drain installed. We were also in need of a sprinkler system installation, but first things first. We were referred to a company, Santos Lawn Care, who were supposed to be a cheaper, but good alternative to their competition. Unfortunately, we learned the hard way that you get what you pay for. Having known BNC to be a little more costly, I avoided using their services from the start. Big mistake. To make a long story short, Chris and his guys at BNC not only fixed the job that was done incorrectly by the previous company, but they did it in record time. When paying thousands of dollars to have your irrigation and drainage issues resolved, trust me, BNC is worth every extra penny you might pay. Great customer service, probably the best I've experienced. Chris was so detailed in explaining the problems we were having with our irrigation system and breaking down the costs. He even suggested ways for us to save money by encouraging us to complete the minor work ourselves, then wrote us notes on where and how to fix the minor issues. He needed to take up a small patch of sod and when he was done he replaced everything like he was never even there. So professional and pleasant to work with! Chris came out to give us a quote on what I thought was a drainage problem. He took the time to carefully explain to me what could be the source of the problem BEFORE trying to sell me any services. He was very knowledgeable and wanted to make sure we checked on the the other possible sources for the water leak BEFORE we put in an expensive french drain. The other company that came out the day before was ready to get started right away on a $3220 french drain.
