I would give zero stars if I could. Amber seemed like a nice person and I wanted to support a woman-owned business...that is until she sent a bumbling handyman to my house. He arrived an hour late, told my wife my system was broken but couldn't tell me what needed to be done and then kindly took a $120 check from her for the 10 minutes he spent at our house. Nice. When I contacted Amber she said she would rip check up but that never happened. When I contacted her again after check was cashed she said she would send a refund. Yeah right. I got the same jive from her about a 'flood destroying her office' several times. Yeah right. In my opinion, 1st Choice Sprinklers are scam artists. Avoid. read more

I would not recommend this company because, in my experience, it has very unethical business practice. Before the appointment, I took a picture of exactly what I wanted quoted and confirmed via phone that they could offer this service. When the technician arrived, I was told that wasn't my problem and refused the quote. I also had inquired about installing a French drain which when the technician arrived, also refused to quote. Finally, at the end of the day, was told that my system couldn't be fixed and that the whole thing needed to be ripped out and installed (which they don't do). The cost for all this useless information: $95. Yes, you read that right - they charged ME to waste my time and not do anything I asked them to do. In their defense, I was told it would cost $95 dollars to have someone come look at my system. However, I was also told that cost could be applied to the cost of any of the projects they performed, so I agreed. I honored my agreement to pay the guy as agreed, but I asked for a callback to discuss this situation. 2 weeks later, no callback and they just cashed my check. What a ripoff. I would not recommend you work with this company because I have no confidence you will not be ripped off also. read more

I contacted 1st Choice from a referral - neighbor on my street. I had a leak at the connection between the city pipe the exits my meter and my pvc pipe connection to the rest of the system. I had another sprinkler repair come out, "do the repair" and demand immediate payment. I did -and after an overnight "drying period" and it leaked as bad as before. They won't answer my calls- Fernando arrived the next late morning after I called. He dug the leaky part back up, found the leaking joint, repaired it. I turned the water back on the next day and this time it holds pressure with no leak. Fernando was neat, pleasant, and best of all knew how to properly repair my problem! Great company. In April i had to get a complete overhaul on my sprinkler system. FYI this was my fault; didnt know you should get a tuneup/checkup yearly on you system. Chris the foreman did a great job staying in contact with me and setting up a time for the tech to come. Francisco the tech was a saint. No fault of Francisco's but the job was more of undertaking then we thought it would be. Francisco should up early Friday afternoon. The job was still going on at 5. I asked Francisco several times if he wanted to call it a day. He repeatedly told me; "Matt I am staying till the job is complete". Needless to say he was true to his word. On a side note my 6 year old son was completely infatuated with Francisco and asked about him for 2 months. Since April they have come back twice to "tweak" the system. Both times it was a nominal charge which is greatly appreciated. Highly recommend this company. read more

I realize that telling me Thursday and putting Friday in the calendar is a clerical error, but when I'm sitting here for hours, nobody shows up and the company phone number is busy (they told me it was out of service for 15 minutes) it is a really bad customer experience. I took a day off of work for this. After looking at the Yelp messages between me and the company, I found this, "Thank you so much for reaching out to us we will see you this Thursday at 10 a.m. sharp". We have lived here for a year and last year we needed sprinklers reset because they were spraying in the sidewalks and patio. This year, we had sod laid and needed pop-ups installed on many heads, as well as one repaired. Wow! They sent Jonathan over to repair my sprinklers and they did an AMAZING job in a few hours. Another company quoted me $10k a few years ago, so I figured it wasn't worth my time or money to fix my sprinklers. I was wrong! I decided to give these guys a call after seeing reviews on Yelp and see what they could do. I have a corner lot and now my 50 sprinkler heads and seven valves are all back up and working. It ended up that they were outdated and roots had grown into the system. I'm so happy I called 1st Choice and had the repairs done. They give me quotation 90/hour on Yelp, but when the technician came, it became 126/hour for first hour...They replaced my several sprinkler heads for 406 USD...The worst thing is, main pipe of one sprinkler has leaking issue after they swapped the sprinkler head, it's not leaking before the repairing...I seek for another company after this. read more

I have used this company twice for some minor leaks with my sprinkler system. Both times, they showed up during the scheduled window, were nothing but professional, and able to get the job done in a timely manner. They tested the entire system to make sure their repairs were thorough and complete. To better attest to the attentiveness of this company, I had run the sprinklers one evening recently and when I went to shut off the system, I noticed water kept running. It was almost 10 p.m. on a Wednesday, and I didn't realize the extent of the issue until I stepped out front and noticed my front yard was a rushing river. I tried to shut off the water but to no avail. For my third experience with this company, they made an emergency stopover at my home nearly an hour later to assist me. We were able to finally get the water shutoff and the next day, they came back out in the daylight after the water drained away to further assess the issue. There was a two foot section of pipe that had broken from the main line in the street to the sprinkler system. They were able to replace this piping and the faulty valve that caused this 'flood.' I am forever grateful for their outstanding service, professionalism, and follow-through! I will definitely use these guys again in the future! I chose 1st Choice Sprinklers after reading their reviews on Yelp. I'm glad I did. I had two sprinkler heads that were functioning as geysers instead of sprinkler heads. While kinda cool, that's not what we were going for. The crew scheduled an appointment to come out to my home in Sachse the next day (on a Saturday) and called me 30 minutes before their arrival. I showed them what it was doing and they saw another sprinkler head that was watering the street more than the yard (I hadn't noticed that before). They replaced the two bad sprinkler heads and replaced a cap on the street waterer and turned it into a lawn sprinkler again .... and they adjusted a couple of other heads that weren't spraying properly. They were friendly, they showed up promptly, did their work, charged very fairly, and went on their way. A perfect customer experience. I'll absolutely call them again the next time I need help with my sprinkler system. read more

Awoke early July 11 about to leave town for a week. Sprinkler pipe was broken, valve was stuck and water was gushing down my alley. Got great help, cooperation and repair from Brandon and his expert technician...and got it all done long distance over the phone!!!!! These guys are really great and reliable. 1st Choice was amazing. I worked with Jonathan and he made sure everything was just as he said it would be. He was so nice and helpful. He really understood what we needed. His crew was on time and worked really fast and did a great job. They installed a French drain system for my boss and you can't even tell where they worked. They installed new grass in the back yard, separated two stations for drip that shouldn't have been on the same station, and installed new pea gravel to line the driveway which looks so much better!! His crew was super nice and they picked up after themselves for the most part. A few water bottles and little pipe pieces but I didn't mind picking those up. He had used a plastic bin of ours and made sure it was washed out. He also made sure the whole system worked before leaving and showed me what he did to re program the system. The next day he returned with the rest of the grass.. (my fault for not getting enough). He installed it and it looked great. The morning after that we noticed a huge leak in one of the lines from under the grass. It had accidentally been cut while installing the grass. Jonathan was out the very next morning, right on time again, and fixed it without hesitation and without any problems. He sincerely apologized. Of course it was ok. It was a simple mistake and made it right. A lot of contractors I've met would claim it wasn't their fault and try to charge me for the repair. I wouldn't definitely recommend Jonathan and 1st choice sprinkler for your lawn needs. They aren't technically landscapers but they did a great job with our grass install and were able to give me a number for another landscaper. Would happily call Jonathan again for any work needed. read more

I normally don't write reviews. I usually leave that to the wife. However, Alex and his partner just left my house and they were simply awesome. I thought I had a broken valve due to a marshy spot in the yard near where a valve should have been. On a day where the weather was not the greatest, they took the time to troubleshoot it and found the issue was not my system. He was honest and rather than doing unnecessary repairs, explained to me what was likely going on. Which makes perfect sense now that he showed me. He also took the time to teach me things about the system that I didn't know including how to verify if the system is leaking. Before leaving they also verified all was working and cleaned up. They were professional, hardworking, and honest. Also, I had the opportunity to speak with Christina a couple times. She was also a great. She made sure I was well taken care of and very friendly to work with. I highly recommend them for any jobs you have. I have hired several sprinkler companies in the past several years, but they are the only company (especially Alex, his partner, and Christina) I felt strongly enough to recommend and will be using again. They are definitely DFW's top sprinkler company. read more

The control panel for my sprinklers wasn't working (not an emergency). When I called, they were nice on the phone, and told me it would be $85(I think) to come out--that was what I expected. Their next appointment opening was within a few days. That was really great. I had called others but would have had to wait 10-days. When the technician came, he said it would be $350 to replace the panel, and I agreed. When he finished, he asked if I wanted him to check all the sprinklers--I said "sure" (thinking it was part of the deal/part of the $350-it's a lot of money, to me. He cleaned the mud off one sprinkler, so it would spray properly. And he replaced one "head" (it is the 1-inch price which screws on the top). When he was done, he handed me an invoice for $463.50. So apparently the installation of the "head" and cleaning the mud cost me the extra $113.50. I felt he asked me if I wanted him to check-out the sprinklers, and I had agreed, so I felt I had to pay it. I liked that I got a quick appointment. But I'm sorry to say, I won't use 1st Choice Sprinklers again because of the invoice/pricing (extra $113.50). read more
