Little Kettle That Could: Double Good was founded in 1998 and is located in northern Illinois near Chicago. They offer quite a few interesting flavors (Caramel-Diem, Easy Peasy Caramel Cheesy, My Main Cheese) but the one I got my hands on as a freebie for nurses while at work was the kettle corn. Before I share my thoughts, let me clarify what kettle corn actually is. It's a sweet version of popcorn that is mixed with refined sugar, salt, and oil. Historically it is made in the cast iron kettles that share its name. Today other types of pots and pans are often used. Double Good's version is lightly sweet, a little salty, has hints of butter, and has a nice crisp to it. The pieces coated with sugar are amazing, but some of the plain pieces leave a lot to be desired. Munching on a piece that contains both sugar and salt creates a euphoric combo on the taste buds. This company is a small company that I imagine is doing the best they can, but year after year we order around the beginning of December (for Xmas) and rarely do they fulfill my order on time. The lack of communication, the use of bots instead of real people shows they do not have the infrastructure to sustain their business from a customer service standpoint. I have never done a fundraiser but my wife and I love their popcorn. When we get it, it is amazing. That's why we come back. I wish they would fix their years long epidemic of shipping and order fulfillment whoas. If they could sustain an excellence driven customer service model when it comes to fulfilling orders, it would be an easy 5 stars for me. My great grandson was having a fundraiser. I was excited that it was for my favorite snack, popcorn. A tiny box was shipped to my address which contained the popcorn. When I finally opened it I was appalled by the size of the bags. I've always tried to support my grandkids fundraisers but this is ridiculously small in size. My daughter was asked to participate in her high school cheer fundraiser so I bought more bags of Double Good popcorn than I should of to help the team. I ordered 6 bags of my Main Cheese, 1 bag of white Cheddar, 4 bags of Sweetie you salty and one bag of Caramel-diem. Each flavor was good. I really appreciate that most of the popped kernels are big (they must limit the amount of broken pieces) which I prefer. All the flavors we bought were tasty. The two reasons I did not score them higher was they were slow shipping the popcorn and the bags were incredibly small.
