I think I just found my new little hidden gem. I'm usually a Starbucks girl, but I finally tried this adorable café and absolutely loved it. The warm natural light, cozy lounge area, outdoor café tables, pastries, and wholesome food options make it such a welcoming little spot. The owner made my drink and surprised me with something SO delicious! The young lady at the register was incredibly sweet and friendly, too. Everyone was so warm and down-to-earth. I can already see this becoming my little place to set intentions before the day, slow down, or have a coffee date with my teenage daughter. All pastries are made in-house! We stopped in yesterday for berry,strawberry scones,croissants and coffee. The food was sooo good but my sister and I didn't care for our lattes. A nice place for a quick breakfast or lunch. Food: (5)They serve a variety of breakfast sandwiches & avocado toast. We got the berry scones. I intended to eat half, but devoured the entire thing. (Scones tend to be dry but these were nice & succulent.) The croissant was okay, pretty greasy though. Coffee: (3) the coffee unfortunately wasn't as good some of the better coffeehouses. This was my last visit here. The male owner has consistently been rude, but today was the final straw. I have a one-year-old, and he let out a few normal toddler screams, nothing excessive or disruptive. Within less than a minute, the owner came over and essentially told us to quiet our son down. The way he approached us was incredibly rude and inappropriate. This is supposedly a family-friendly coffee shop. Children are going to be in and out, and a coffee shop is not a silent environment. If you are going to operate a family-oriented establishment, you should understand that toddlers occasionally make noise. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've witnessed this man being rude, and today's interaction was enough for me to decide that we will never return. The wife and the girls who work there have always been kind, and honestly, they are the only positive part of the experience. But unfortunately, good employees don't make up for consistently poor treatment from the owner. On top of that, the coffee is overpriced and, in my opinion, not particularly good. There are plenty of other coffee shops where I can spend my money and feel welcome. Save your time and money. There are much better places to go. read more

A fantastic locally owned coffee shop in El Dorado Hills is Double Shot Coffee Shop. My wife took me there as she had visited several times and really enjoyed it. The coffee is really good, their sandwiches are fantastic, and excited to go back and try their croissants and other items. The owners are quite a team and have made a great place to visit, socialize, and get some great coffee and food. They are very friendly and responsive to questions and service needs. My all-time favorite local coffee shop! The owners, Kat and Brendan, are amazing, friendly people, and the quality of their drinks and food are great. I love how cozy their shop is, and how comfortable it is to be able to sit in there and go in coffee dates with friends. I notice a lot of people get their work done here too, which is so nice. One of my favorite items to eat is the Mom's Coffee Cake, which I believe is Brendan's mom's recipe. It's delicious! We hit this local coffee shop at least once a week for delicious coffee, Kat's amazing baked goods, and a really wonderful friendly vibe. You can customize your breakfast sandwich just how you like it and they have a great selection of spicy sauces to add more kick. The scones and muffins are freshly made and delicious, often we get there and there are some just coming out of the oven. I love the ambiance especially the curated music selections. We like the coffee so much that we buy the beans to take home too. read more

Stopped by here on the way to a friend's house on a weekday morning. It has a very home-y and welcoming feel with plenty of seating inside! It's at the end of a shopping center and parking is super easy. I was greeted upon entering and the two girls working were so nice. I liked that they had several seasonal drink options and they answered all my questions about them! I had the Caramel Apple Pie Latte which they said has apple syrup and caramel syrup. I really didn't taste much of the apple at all but it was a good caramel latte. I love apple flavored coffees so I was just really looking forward to the apple part of it! Finally we have a neighborhood coffee shop! We came to this place because we just needed that coffee fix but didn't want the drive through experience. We were greeted and welcomed in. We were also asked if we had visited the shop and we let them know it was our first time. Everyone was so sweet and they walked us through the menu. When we were told the breakfast sandwiches were made in house, we couldn't resist. While we waited we relaxed on the couch and Jair took everything in. You may not be able to tell but the counter was decorated by the art of kids and other visitors of the shop. The coffee was amazing and our sandwiches were delicious. OMG! This place is sooo cute and the staff are soo friendly and helpful! They have delicious fully customizable breakfast sandwiches and lunch pizzas and pulled pork sandwiches they season for 9 hrs.. I have just been here once and had a breakfast bagel sandwich that was perfect and hot melt cheese deliciousness. My iced vanilla latte was amazing and flavorful. Didn't want Starbucks since this was literally right next door to try something new. My cappuccino was like a heavy latte no foam so that's where the 4 star comes in. Cortado looked super good prob should ordered that looked way more cappuccino than mine lol. Oh well. I decided to try and support a local business, so I decided to stop by Double Shot on my way to work. Little did I know how bad it would derail my entire morning. I entered the shop and as I was about to order a vanilla latte, I heard some commotion in the back. The owner eventually came out and was yelling at his employees and who I presume to be his wife. He then began to try and complain about them to me, which I found to be incredibly unprofessional. It became extremely uncomfortable so I tried to diffuse the situation, to which he began SCREAMING at me, saying I was trying to break apart his business and steal it from him. I was dumbfounded and asked to just get my latte, to which he said no and promptly kicked me out. Awful experience, I feel so bad for anybody who works here. Double shot coffee bar is tucked nearby a Safeway in a newish little plaza in El Dorado Hills, it has a relaxing ambiance and the service is polite and kind, our server(I think the owner?) spoke in almost a whisper that added to the calmness of this location. Their drinks and food were delicious, we got two scones and although I am biased for loving blueberry scones I actually liked the pumpkin scone better they aren't like your typical scones where normally they are quite crusty making them hold up to dipping into coffee, these scones are actually quite fluffy with a bit of crunch on the outer rim and we're textual delights. We also got a veggie pizza as a savory option this was a solid bit of pizza where it had a nice thin crust and a strong (good) mushroom flavor. Had a heartbreaking experience at Double Shot yesterday. I am a loyal customer who loved going here. I brought in my son (4 yrs old, autistic) in with me and was waiting in line to get a coffee. He has vocal stimming as part of his autism and was making some happy sounding vocalizations, when suddenly the owner SCREAMED at me and my 4 yr old son at the top of his lungs in an extremely aggressive manner in an attempt to shush him and humiliate us. I gathered my son right away and put him in the car because I was scared for his safety. I started to cry. Then I went back in to explain to the owner that vocal stims are involuntary for those with autism, he shouldn't be aggressively yelling at a 4 year old, and that he should treat those with disabilities with more respect and the owner was DEFIANT in his ignorance, rolling his eyes at me, etc. Extremely disrespectful and a horrible way to treat others, especially mothers and a young child. Never going back, keep in mind if you know or love anyone with a disability. read more

Super rude male server. Ordered tea and the lid wasn't fully on. I was trying to secure it and it spilled on the counter. The gentleman was obviously angry, muttered under his breath that the lid was on. He wouldn't speak to me besides rolling his eyes and muttering under his breath and hastily remade a tea and slammed on the counter while stating "the lid is secure". He was rude from start to finish. Obviously I did not spill on purpose and obviously if the lid were on, it would not have made the huge mess that it did. Food was good. I decided to try this place based on the reviews, but quickly was disappointed! I order an iced latte whenever I go, but have never paid $12.25. They nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING!!! I ordered a 16oz in a 20oz cup for extra ice and the cashier said, "I can't do that". So she charged me for the bigger size even though I asked for LESS milk and more ice. Not to mention they charge $1.75 for each additional shot; not to mention for flavoring and milk. That's how I ended paying over $12 for a quad shot iced latte. Not even the best coffee shops charge that. Will not be back. Cashier could've easily accommodated my request on the cup, but decided she "couldn't". Coffee was not any tastier than places that charge $8 for the same drink. read more

I kind of wished I had more- that's how good the pairing was for me. Good customer service- the barista was mildly having a bad day but everything still came out nicely. My muffin was warm and tasty.
