Cool bar, lots of pool tables, GREAT food. BUT.... This bar has sooooooooo much drama! The bar "manager" is soooo mean and hateful and incoherently drunk more often than not. There's a couple of regulars that are constantly fight and screaming and also.... Falling down drunk. Quarter machine is usually broken and the atm is usually empty..... so if you come to play pool, come prepared. read more

I used to go here. Not as a customer, but to drive my friend home who was constantly overserved alcohol. That was nearly 30 years ago. I was a teenager then. I'm 50 today. She passed from alcohol poisoning years ago. Shocked this place is still open to be honest. I only ever had one beer there. They served it to me when I was 17. read more

All I can say is you cannot beat the personality of the bar staff they're wonderful their friendly. As far as the food goes it will please your palate the cooks here try very hard to cook just about whatever they can for you if they have it in stock or on the menu I should say. The customer's here are very friendly easy to get along with and it just makes a wonderful atmosphere so come out and try it you may like it. read more

We went to lunch here today and we had the chicken fried chicken and it was moist and juice. I love Scotties mashed potatoes and white gravy. And the peanut butter swirl brownie is delicious. Scott is a good cook. Yall go see him. read more

Sprained my ankle and I thought I'd give yelp and grubhub's delivery service a shot. Found out this place delivers near me and they had a good rating and I was craving a really good Patty Melt so I decided why not. The delivery service was actually fast, the driver found my place super fast and I was happy that the food came steaming hot still. Opened up my to-go box and found the Patty Melt with a couple of fries and a container of ketchup. The sandwich was great, too much onion for me but I just removed some off the sandwich. Kinda greasy, but this is a patty melt and not a salad so you're going to be expecting that. The fries however was kind of disappointing. Tasted old and frozen and just thrown together into the box with the sandwich. Maybe I'll try another item on the menu and actually go to the restaurant next time. I'm definitely a fan though! read more

This place could have gotten 4 stars but one thing messed it all up....the wings. The best word to describe the wings is mangled. The bones were literally mangled and crushed. All of the chicken, not just one or two wings. The sauces were fair but having to spit out bone pieces made it unbearable. If I'd hadn't taken it to go, I'd would have sent it back. The southwest egg rolls and chicken avocado bacon wrap were pretty good. Overall, I doubt I'd eat here again. read more

I got dragged out to 'Double T's Bar and Grill' by my father who was merely supporting a former co-worker of his who was singing at this little hole in the wall bar. Ever seen that scene in a movie when the patrons walk in the front door and the entire bar stops and looks at them? Haha, well, i kid you not that happened to us. Since there was NO reviews on this place online i had no idea what to expect and had no idea what we would have encountered. Being downtown and in the heights i have grown used to the no smoking law. At Double T's bar, if youre not a smoker, this will be your first and chief complaint. From the moment you walk into Double T's the first thing that hits you is the wall of smoke. It lingered all night, we all had to shower to get it off of us, my eyes were watering and my throat changed a couple of octives lower and it even remained and lingered on some purses an entire week after the experience. We ate before arriving at Double T's so we did not have the opportunity (thank god) to try their entree of chicken fingers, french fries and other stereotypical bar type foods. While parking was easy and had its own parking in a parking lot the parking lot for 100 cars only had one light which made it a very sketchy place as there was bi-standers lingering around the parking lot which made all of us feel unweery. The live music we had was great but that was because it was 'Brenda Guy', local entertainer who should be on tour with tina turner instead of in this smokey bar. There is a small dance floor and patrons dance and had a fun time, there was slot machines (didnt know that was legal, hell, it probably wasn't). Cleanliness, well, lets just say that the word clean should never be used in a review for this place, ever. Keep your hand sanitizer close. I ordered a budlight and it came in a dirty worn out koozie which looked like it had been used daily for the last 17 years. Was stained brown on black (is that possible, well, regardless, it happened), floors in bathroom were practically standing on top of your urine as it seems there might have been a target on the floor before i came in there because i found myself manuevering around puddles of urine which ended up later in the night being on the entire floor around the urinal. I cannot imagine the amount of urine that got trailed out on foot around the doors outside the bathrooms into the main room where the pool tables were. I never saw any of the 6 men i encountered over my 3 bathroom visits ever wash their hands and one of them returned to playing pool and touching koozies. Group of women i was with (who i now owe a dinner to since i dragged them into this monstrosity) said there was women walking around barefoot in the restroom. She no doubt got some of the urine from the mens bathrooms on the bottom of her feet while walking around. I cannot imagine how much of a daily dose of DNA yums and fecal matter that she got on the bottom of her feet and in her body. She'll be blaming the sore throat the next day on the guy she kissed the night before for sure and probably was too wasted to even know she was walking around barefoot. Needless to say when it came time for snacks we dove into the vending machine which was located by the front door. If youre looking for a local bar with zero expectations and bar hags, and getting second hand smoke then Double T's is the place for you. I will never be returning to Double T's. read more

This place is great for a little neighborhood joint. The bar staff is extremely friendly, the drinks are a great price, and the regular customers welcome you into the fold as soon as you arrive. I've been here on several occasions, and have never had an issue. The first time I went, I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I had the potato skins, which were delicious. The menu has changed since then, so I'm not sure if those are still on the menu, but the last time I went I tried the new spinach and artichoke dip, and it was to die for! Their french fries are also fresh potatoes, and not frozen. Each time I've been here, I've also been pleasantly surprised by my tab. The drinks are in no way overpriced, and they're generous on the pour. Double T's does not pretend to be what it isn't. It is an unpretentious neighborhood watering hole, where people go to unwind after a long day at work. It is by no means swanky (although the food is better than your average bar food), so if you're looking for a bar in which you can relax, enjoy watching a game with friends, or get to know some new and interesting people, this is the place for you. If you're looking for a fine dining experience, or a bar where garnishes look like art pieces, try your luck elsewhere. read more

i attend this bar multiple times a month to watch the pool leagues so i go here pretty frequently. to start off the bartenders are extremely rude and aggressive. i have never been to a bar with such aggressive rude bartenders. we have gotten to to various arguments. the bar manager is rude and sarcastic. and the worker there who is there most night is a nightmare of a person. has harassed me and multiple of my teammates. i was sitting at the bar recently and she walked by and told me the cameras were watching me, as if i was doing anything wrong. i order multiple cokes and she yelled at me saying "i'll keep running these 4$ cokes for you bud" and one day i asked for the brush ti brush off the table and she said the camara was watching me as if i'd steal that old ass brush. the services is horrible. she was yelling at people by the bar because THEY DONT TIP HER. who would want to tip her and her shitty ass services. this place is a nightmare and i also got a sinus infection few weeks ago from the smell of cigarettes in this place. read more

I had to write this review after reading the review by Alan Premel. I have no idea who he is but he is an obvious coconut. I have been to Double T's Bar & Grill on several occasions and have never seen anything like he describes. The clientel at Double T's are some of the best people you will meet in Houston. The local bands who play there are some of the best in town. The restrooms are always clean. You should try the steak and prime rib at Double T's and visit with the regulars who eat there daily, about the food. For a small neighborhood bar, there sure are alot of folks enjoying the food. The menu and food are great. My husband and I enjoy Double T's entertainment most Friday and Saturday nights. We highly recommend a trip to this cozy club on the weekend or any other time. read more

I have been to Double T's on many occasions. It is a great neighborhood bar. The customers and staff are very friendly. The food is exceptional and reasonably priced. On Thursday nights they serve steak and prime rib which is cooked to perfection. Double T's also has great specials each day. The various parties they have during the year are great fun.
