That kind of genuine kindness really meant a lot to me, and he truly made my night when I needed it most. Next Door is such a great neighborhood bar. It's perfect for a date night, but it's also a really comfortable and safe place to go on your own. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff make you feel like you belong. I literally bartend up the street and came here after work because I was tired of my bar and wanted a new environment I was literally disappointed like I mean I know I'm black but this is out of line like who wants to be a Karen but this place is totally racist wouldn't recommend at all literally as I am making this I'm looking at the reviews and it seems as if this is common. So warning if you go here and it's a kind of big white guy as they say in the reviews, please don't have face tattoos or nose rings or have your skin darker than white because you will not get any service. As a bartender and a former business owner this is nowhere you want to spend your money like I agree with the guy in the comments. How did you guys get four stars? Me and coworker go to jumps after a hard days work to unwind and have a few drinks. We both have our work uniforms on and even safety glassware. We proceed to sit down at the bar, grant you have been to this establishment on numerous occasions and are greeted by a stereotypical racial profiling man named Maury. He asked my fellow coworker what he'd be having then turns about pondering for a second then without hesitation tells my coworker I'm sorry but there's "no facial tattoo's " allowed. This is 2023 in Alief, Texas and am appalled and disgusted by this kind of racial profiling. He skipped right past the fact we are wearing work clothes and are ready to spend money at his establishment yet has the audacity to judge my coworker on his appearance. 2/6/2021 between 1am to 2am. Me and my two friends were racially profiled by the DJ. A Caucasian lady tried to show off her taser to her friends, at to table behind us. The DJ had the confidence to aggressively run to our sofa, even when the bar tender told him that we aren't the ones. He stated, "Ow it's definitely them".
