We always come back to this Hotel. The rooms and grounds are clean and the staff is attentive and clean our room each day. As you enter, you notice that the trash cans by the door are clean and empty, the glass doors clean and a woman is mopping wet footprints off of the floor each time someone walks across the lobby. The staff comes in early in the morning and you see them arrive with clean, pressed uniforms as they are talking and entering the building. They are a team and everyone knows their job and takes pride in their work. The pool deck and walkway to the beach are cleaned every morning. The men that take care of the outside amenities empty the trash, pick up items left behind and straighten the patio furniture before anyone comes to use the amenities. The groundskeepers then show up and mow the grass with a battery powered mower and weedwacker so that it doesn't disturb anyone that is still sleeping. They have coffee by the restaurant as early as 6:30 in the morning. It is hotel coffee, but this is a hotel and not a barista fixing your cup of morning joe. The restaurant that is on site and serves breakfast is very clean and offers seating options inside or on their patio. They are a little slow to get you seated, but once seated you are taken care of and don't need to ask for anything. Our cups were full and so were our stomachs as we got ready for a day at the beach. DoubleTree by Hilton Atlantic Beach Oceanfront I used electronic check-in, though I did stop by the front desk briefly to ask where the restaurant was before heading over for dinner about 40 minutes before closing. I'll cover that experience separately. Overall, the hotel delivered a solid stay. The room--707, oceanfront--was clean for the most part and well-equipped with everything you'd expect: refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker (filter-style pods), ironing board, hair dryer, and a television. Lighting is excellent, with plenty of lamps throughout the room, and there are ample AC outlets along with modern USB and USB-C ports, which is a nice touch. One feature that stood out was the small table with two chairs. It made a big difference since I ended up bringing dinner back to the room, and having a proper place to sit and eat comfortably is something not every hotel gets right. The room itself was spacious with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The view was great, and the setup made it easy to relax and enjoy the beachfront atmosphere. There was nothing wrong with the room--it was a solid, comfortable oceanfront stay. Parking is plentiful and free, which is always a plus in a beach area. One thing to keep in mind for this stretch of the coast: it tends to stay windy. Be prepared for strong winds and quick temperature changes, especially if you're spending time outside on the balcony or walking along the beach. Fast forward this a few years. I've probably stayed here on five or six occasions during summer, fall and winter. Like many have said, and it's the truest thing you can say about this hotel, you cannot beat the location and there is nothing in the immediate area which compares to it in that respect. Out the back door and there is the beach along with plenty of parking. Good/Bad/Ugly Time: Good: As mentioned prior, you cannot be the location. Having the balcony door open at night to the sound of the ocean is nothing short of perfect. When they have their outside beach bar open that's also not too bad for the view and the ambiance. No issues with any of the staff here over the years. If you're so inclined you can walk to the bar across the street (The Wheelhouse) or On the Rocks or slightly further is a very well stocked Dollar General that's only a few years old. It's also a short drive to The Food Lion, a McD's, ABC store and a few others. The key is to ALWAYS watch the hours of operation or else you will find out the hard way that McD's will close at 8pm or the better of the two pizza places in town is only open 4pm-9pm. It's not the end of the world as there are far more choices over in Morehead City. Bad: Yeah, the place is definitely dated. I believe it started life as a Sheraton in the late 80's and I think the AB area and the hotel have taken two fairly direct hurricane shots within the past 10-ish or so years. Am I willing to overlook the elderly quirks (although they are on board with Hilton's new streaming TV requirement)? Yes, without question but if you come expecting new/hip/modern, it's not happening. Also, plenty and I mean plenty of people are smoking various things on their balconies or in the hotel's outside courtyard area. If that is going to bother you.......I can't help you on that one. Ugly: Most of the food they serve simply isn't very good and/or it's not uncommon to find they are out of various menu items from their small menus or drinks from their small drinks list. If you have the F&B credit to play with, I guess do what you need to do but aside from maybe a burger at the outside beach bar, don't do it. Overall, whatever, I like this place because I love the area. It's truly a beach/area for beach lovers who want a quiet/pure/simple experience that's 180 of the crap in Myrtle/OCMD or anything in Jerz. Overall, God-willing, I'll be back. read more

Hotel is ok. Staff does a great job keeping the common spaces clean. Front desk staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the onsite restaurants undo any success the hotel achieves. There are three facilities that have the most confusing times and when items are served. Don't ask for coffee outside of breakfast because it's no where to be found. Most restaurants in the area close around 9pm so as long as you're early to bed you'll be fine otherwise, you're out of luck. read more

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Great beach views and access. The staff is all very friendly and professional. I spent 2 nights here off season in December so the rates were great. This is the first place I've been that from the same balcony I can watch a sunset and a sunrise. I had a $17 hamburger in the restaurant and it was good, with homemade chips on the side also very tasty. Of course it was overpriced but they give a $15 food credit for Gold Hhonors members so that made it worth while. Overall I enjoyed my time here. That's the good news. The downside is the age of the hotel. The rooms need renovations and upgrades. The old carpet smells stale. The elevators are sketchy. I definitely would not pay premium prices to stay here in season for the quality of the rooms. read more

The hotel is a bit outdated but was clean and all of the staff I interacted with were pleasant. I booked a beach front room with a balcony and the balcony was small and didn't have any seating (or space for seating). If you're thinking about upgrading to that room type it isn't necessary. There is a small gym, indoor/outdoor pools and 2 restaurants attached. Molly's which is outback has a casual atmosphere, small menu and frozen drinks made to order. Made reservations for a king with an ocean view. Ended up with 2 queen's & a partial ocean view. Had lunch at the beach bar. They took our order, accepted my hubs generous $20 tip on a sixty dollar tab & almost an hour later the server, Sarah was gone & we had no food. My husband inquired at the Bar & that's when the bartender asked if the 2 Togo burgers that had been sitting at the bar for 10min might be ours...we were so hungry we accepted the cold meal & chowed down. If it had been hot, probably would have been delicious & the margaritas wouldn't have eaten my stomach lining if I'd had food sooner than later. No one followed up to check on how our drinks or meal was even after having to go checkin at the bar. Will not book here again & would not recommend their beach bar. Cockroach running through bathroom in middle of the night (7th floor). Pools are not clean, have sand in them, and are extremely cloudy. Hot tub even had sand in it. Carpeting smells musty/moldy and was bothersome to allergies. Rooms are quite dated and carpet needs to go! Breakfast buffet was fair at best. Outdoor bar would not allow us to order drinks one minute to closing. Parking can be challenging especially since they sell spaces for beach parking and also have conferences going on. Horrible--other than the management trying to help with the situations. I really loved Melissa; she might have been the only good part of this place. It's a pretty hotel, but the elevators are scary. One tries to shut you in along with the shutters like it's Final Destination, and the other is the slowest elevator you'll ever wait on. It's not set up for all disabilities--or I should say, it's not enforced. There was smoking by the door constantly, and no one did anything about it. My child has a breathing disability, and we were always having to check if we could even walk through the doors without someone standing there smoking. This place is not family-friendly. Everyone is drunk, and the pool has absolutely no time limits--regardless of age. The outdoor pool is always open and not monitored at all. The security camera that supposedly watches the area doesn't even reach far enough to cover the outdoor pool. There was a cop convention going on while we were there, so we expected it to feel safer. Unfortunately, many of the officers--probably around 12 to 15--were also drinking. A few were just relaxing and enjoying their work trip, but others were heavily involved in the party-like atmosphere. Some were even in the parking lot taking shots out of their Wayne County-issued police vehicles. There were also weed smells lingering frequently throughout the property. We honestly felt more like we had stumbled into Myrtle Beach Bike Week. A drunk man got into a fight with my husband that turned physical. The next day, there was another couple drunk and falling down near the pool, scratched and bleeding, while watching their minor daughter. During the daytime, a different adult couple was making out in the indoor pool. Honestly, the hotel has no structure. My son slipped and bit his tongue walking into the building. He also stepped in dog poop while going onto the beach from the hotel stairs. The toilet stayed clogged, and we had to call maintenance twice and use the plunger multiple times--even if it was just number one. We saw a little brown bug before leaving, and now I have to wash absolutely everything we brought. The balcony is too small to even place chairs on, and the balcony door makes a whistling noise all night long--like something out of a haunted movie. While it's dog-friendly, there should really be regulations; there were fleas outside on the hallway carpet. Molly's--the bar outside of the hotel--had us sit for 40 minutes after ordering an appetizer before even taking our food order, which then took another 50 minutes to arrive. One waitress was very kind, but ours disappeared every chance she got. The blender at Molly's was broken the entire time--even though they're a bar--and at breakfast, they offer frappes. read more

On the surface, this hotel would rate around 3.5/5 stars. It's clean, located right on the beach with easy access, decent parking, two pools, and a restaurant. The room had a mid-century modern decor, and the beds and pillows were surprisingly comfortable. The cleanliness was up to standard, and the balcony view of the beach was a definite plus. One downside is that there's no complimentary continental breakfast for adults, though kids get theirs free. The buffet was decent, offering scrambled eggs, cereal, toast, potatoes, biscuits, gravy, sausage, bacon, yogurt, milk, waffles, and granola, but no fresh fruit--that costs extra. The prices at the restaurant were on the high side; for instance, I paid around $17 for French toast, which didn't feel like $17 worth of food or quality. In hindsight, I probably should have just gone with the buffet, but again, it's not free for adults, so I had assumed I would get something better (with fruit!) The staff was generally nice, but the guy checking us in was clearly ready for his shift to end, which wasn't the best first impression. However, the location is fantastic, with plenty of nearby restaurants and attractions like an aquarium and, of course, the beach. We were already thinking about planning another visit--until day two, when I saw something that completely turned me off: a cockroach in the room! I've stayed in all kinds of places, and I've never encountered that before. It was especially unsettling because it escaped under the vanity, and I spent the rest of the trip paranoid it would find its way into our luggage. Maybe this is more common in the South, but it left a bad taste in my mouth, and I'm not sure I'd return. One more thing worth mentioning: the hotel charges $20 for parking if you're just visiting the beach, which makes parking harder to find for actual hotel guests. The desk is situated in the room where there are zero outlets, the cable TV box is plugged into the lamp outlet and the coffee pot has no plug to use, I guess they want me to make coffee in the damn bathroom. Just dirty and dingy zero effort by this hotel to do anything, especially with all of the bad reviews they have had. Avoid this place like the plague and do a Airbnb or Verbo instead because you will be way more satisfied. And the hotel staff just don't give a crap either, ask them to bring up a power strip and the comment I got is "I just don't know how everybody else has managed to stay at our hotel." The hotel itself was very nice and clean. Pool was a bit small for the amount of people in the hotel. Also, to get to the beach, you have to take 2 flights of stairs with no handicap access and we noticed a lot of people struggling to get their beach gear to and from the beach. A ramp would have been nice. Very dog friendly and we loved that. Our dog was a superstar! 2 issues we had on our stay. Number 1, I fell at the pool/beach bar restaurant because it was wet. I injured myself and stayed in the Hotel's wheelchair the remainder of our stay and did not get to do any of the plans we had. They were not very concerned at all. Now home, having to see an orthopedist surgeon. Number 2, while I don't care if people smoke marijuana, I just don't want to smell it all day and night. The smell permeated our room the entire stay. We complained, they had the police out and said there was nothing they could do. I would have thought they would have offered to move us to a different floor, but they did not. I feel like they probably could have isolated where the smell was coming from. Basically said not their fault, get it, but at least move us. And, I felt like we were the bad guys for saying anything. It was the attitude of basically, get over it and stop bothering us. I am so so disappointed in the service we received at the bar. I have bartended for many years and when I go to a beach bar I expect to get service that I would give my own customers. Two friends and I walked up once to get a round of drinks and the bartender acted like we were an inconvenience when asking for specialty shots. We were happy to tell her how to make them but she acted like she didn't give a shit. I don't know how much she makes an hour but when I was bartending, I wanted to make my customers happy no matter what(even if I had to take a second to google the shot) because I was working for the best possible tip. I am on a mamas day out with my friends and walked up to the bar twice... we were treated like we weren't worth a da** both times. The first time we blew it off but the second time there was a bachelorette party group when we walked up and they were treated like crap as well. Your bar is stocked, you have the ability to please many customers, but with the bartender you have now that is not possible. She acts like everyone is getting on her nerves. I have bartended and done this til 2am in the morning for many nights in a row..... the attitude was not ok. It's summer, babe. Get use to it and know your drinks. I had been to his hotel many years ago when it was the Sheraton at Atlantic Beach and I think DoubleTree has it right. The first impression was with our greeting and check-in at the front desk with Patina. She was genuinely friendly and made sure we were happy with everything - including the hot cookies. That genuine warm welcome means everything at a hotel. Other things we noticed - the DoubleTree has great Bedding, and I have just ordered some of the Pillows like they had - Dream Memories by Envirosleep - so soft and comfortable. It was early season and the outdoor pool was cold, but the indoor heated pool and Hot Tub were just what we needed. How unique is it to have a choice of indoor and outdoor pools? Awesome. This appears to be a well run hotel. We will go back regularly. read more

As others have said, this 'Hilton' is outdated, run-down, and overpriced. The price is based on the location and the fact that there are few other hotels nearby. THE GOOD: This hotel has ocean front rooms and a dedicated pier. Even if your room that faces the parking lot, you can step right out of the hotel and onto the beach. THE BAD: The sixth floor had moldy carpet and heavy cigarette smoke. The shower drain was slow. One of the two elevators was broken, so wait times for checkin/checkout were vastly extended since we had too much gear to take the stairs. We paid $250/night in spite of all this and even though it was off season. Upon checkout, the manager did not ask us about our stay, but was intent only on turning the room. THE UGLY: 2 days in Tijuana... We were treated to loud Mexican music from the room next door for most of the weekend, which complemented the moldy smells, outdated fixtures, broken equipment, and bad customer experience. read more

Read the reviews it all true. The hotel is older. The room with an ocean view is at an angle which doesn't allow for sitting on the balcony. The shower heads are terrible and the water doesn't drain. The indoor pool and hot tub heater is still not working. Seems like this has been this way for a long time. The best part is the easy access to the beach. Would I stay again, depends on the price. After reviewing the reviews. I skipped the breakfast and went to the nearby McDonald's. The area is amazing. I love the In commercialized vibes. We stayed here the week of 4th of July. It's really the only Oceanside hotel that allows dogs in the area. When we first arrived, the lobby was clean and hosts were friendly and prompt. It was checkin time so it was busy. We originally booked through Expedia. Checked in, no issues, and got to our room. Upon entering the room my dogs started sniffing around and found what was either a big roach or one of those big water bugs. My puppy ate it before I got a chance to get a good look at it Later that evening when we got in from the beach, we noticed one of the sheets had stains on them (they appeared to be clean, just stained) and then we found an applicator tip of some kind that appeared to be from maybe a preparation H tube or something similar . After that, we decided we wanted to checkout and either go home or try and find somewhere else. I would have been ok with just switching rooms or having them come clean it again but my husband is a bit of a germaphobe and leaving home makes him anxious anyway. Since I booked through Expedia, I thought I had to request a refund through them but apparently not since I paid for the room at the hotel. Luckily they were able to refund us everything except the night we stayed and they didn't hassle me or give us a hard time at all. Quite the opposite. They were really nice and even said they hoped we'd come back and give them another try. We weren't able to find anywhere else that was better than what they had to offer so here's the funny part of this story, we went back. This time I booked through my Hilton app and when I arrived, I expected some sort of comment but to my surprise they were nothing but nice and appreciative we'd come back to try again. Originally we were in the 4th floor, for the second chance we were on the 8th. What a difference. It has to be the housekeepers because it was like night and day how clean the entire floor was, it smelled good (even for a pet friendly hotel), the room was immaculate. It didn't have that stale, mildew smell that often comes with hotels at the beach either. Sheets were spotless, so was the floor and bathroom. I'm glad we went back and tried again. The location is convenient especially when traveling with pets. The beachside bar/grill has great food too! You can grab a drink and some food and head to the beach or to the pool. It's all right there. You can rinse off after coming in from the beach as well. I'd definitely recommend for anyone traveling with pets and/or kids. Just remember, everyone has off days. Perhaps the housekeepers that were cleaning the 4th floor that week were short staffed or there was a miscommunication. Room is nice, pretty standard the view is amazing, front desk wonderful, bedding nice with excellent towels and pool area. The only problem here is the lack of customer service at the beach restaurant and bar. Bartender made my wife wrong drink, it was grey, and horrible. I told bartender that it was not the blue drink I ordered, and she shrugged it off, drink was for my wife, and she did NOT APPRECIATE THE COMMENT " well it's not your drink, it's your wife's so why do you care. That was today at 2 pm. She needs customer service training and needs to go get training if she wants to be a bartender. read more

Our stay here was definitely not up to our expectations for a Doubletree. This is actually the worst Doubletree I have stayed at. The service was not friendly. There was the impression that none of the staff wanted to be there. We stayed on the Hilton Honors floor in 717 and the room including the door looked really beat up. The beds weren't even finished being made, but just had pillows thrown on them. The room did have a few things going for it though - it was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the ocean view was great. The beach is nice and the pier is great to walk on. There is a playground on site, but the grass around it was covered in dog droppings. This is a pet friendly hotel, but it doesn't seem like the pets are picked up after. There was an indoor and outdoor pool. The water was cold in both. My daughter liked getting to swim in the indoor pool, but the water was too cold to stay in for long. The breakfast experience was pretty bad. Strangely, you're asked to sign and pay before you enter. We charged the breakfast to our room and then entered for the breakfast buffet. It wasn't a good experience because there were not many options, and what they did have they kept running out of. They ran out of plates, bacon, sausage, and eggs. The biscuits were tasty, which was good because that's about all they had. They didn't even have juice or cream for coffee at the buffet. Definitely not worth the $15 price tag. I thought it was annoying that as Diamond members we only got a $12 dining credit when the breakfast costs $15. We didn't return for breakfast the second day. read more

Overall I enjoyed staying at this hotel, you really can't beat the location! I will say you pay a high price for the location vs the quality of the rooms. The bathroom needed a lot of work and was definitely a bit run down. The bed was comfortable and I liked that each room had a mini balcony. I do wish the balconies were a bit larger though and at least had two chairs out on them. I thought the sound proofing in the hotel was great and you weren't woken up at all hours of the night/morning by people in the hall/next door rooms. Parking was easy and the front desk staff was friendly. The place was packed so just plan on that! The pool was always full and the beach area right outside the hotel filled up fast. You just had to walk a bit to get a spot without people being right on top of you. They did have chair and umbrella rentals available if you didn't cart your stuff to the hotel. The hotel has one restaurant with a lounge and then a pier side restaurant right on the beach. I would stay here again, just hope for a bit of a better deal next time. read more

This is a good three star hotel if you are a dog owner, it moves down a notch if you are not. The rooms have no ventilation and they smell like wet dog and sewer. The door to our tiny patio with the "ocean view" was stuck, it took 2 of us to get it open and closed. The patio had enough room for 2 people to stand shoulder to shoulder. The barking dogs serenaded us as they barked to each other in the hallway. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I really hated the lack of daily maid service. This seems to be a luxury that has been discontinued and hotels are using the excuse of the pandemic to save money. We paid around 400.00 a night for the stay, so you can see the hotel is definitely making a profit by cutting staff and raising prices. Atlantic Beach is a beautiful place and you can not beat the beauty of the surroundings. The hotel lobby and restaurant are fine. We were warmly greeted and staff were pleasant. We probably will look elsewhere next time mostly due to the pet and sewer smells. read more

Location is great. You are literally a few steps to the ocean. We were on the top floor which gave us great views from the two balconies. Check in time is 4pm but luckily, we were able to check in when we arrived at 11:30am. The room was a good size with a bedroom and sleeper sofa in living room. Not the most comfortable bed, but after a full day on the beach and at pool, sleeping was no problem. Small fridge and microwave in room was nice. They also have an indoor pool but it was closed when we were there. The outdoor pool was a bit on the small side. There's a pier that you can walk out on, no fishing allowed. WiFi worked great, the balconies are very narrow and small but otherwise no complaints. Staff was friendly and eager to help. read more

I've rated this hotel 3-stars but in fairness, we kinda knew we were booking a 3-star level hotel. It's located on the beach, which is perfect, and the hotel has some beach chairs and umbrellas available for guest use. There are a couple restaurants, a gas station with a barely stocked convenient store, a pizza delivery, and a small bar all within walking distance. The outdoor pool area is very nice and there are plenty of chairs around. The hotel also provides beach towels. There's a poolside restaurant/bar that seems to be closed, but they opened up a makeshift bar right inside of the door leading from the pool to the hotel. There are bathrooms right inside of the hotel, too. Please note - the indoor pool is not open at this time (not sure when it's reopening). The beds were very comfortable. The air conditioner was VERY loud every time it kicked on...to the point that we had to adjust the volume of the TV up & down based on the AC being on or not. The bathroom is VERY old and needs to be updated badly. I'm 5'3" and the shower was a perfect height for me but I knew my 6'3" husband would NOT like it - and he didn't. He had to squat to get under the shower head. The shower and sink didn't drain very well, but nothing too bad. During this pandemic time they serve a grab & go breakfast with very few options - cereal, danishes, granola bars, yogurt, milk, juice and coffee. They have a restaurant that is open for dine in service from 5pm - 9pm, which also provides room service. Overall, we were happy with our stay and had no real issues. The price was in line for what we got and it served our needs. Based on the price and location I think we would book here again. read more

Our company recently hosted an event at this lovely property, which included several meals, meeting & private gatherings. The overall location is lovely - beachfront, close to restaurants and even pet friendly. Warm cookies given at arrival made us feel pampered and special - but nobody came close to the stellar treatment that SUSAN (from the banquet department) gave us for the duration of our very memorable trip! I attest that some of my co-workers can be very demanding, yet this pro of a manager met each and every challenging request with a smile and a solution, instantly. Her team seemed to really enjoy their roles, too, and all worked well together to make our stay a memorable one! Two thumbs up for Susan, for her unrelenting willingness to go far beyond the call of duty to ensure that ALL of us went home extremely pleased with Doubletree by Hilton Atlantic Beach. I'm so surprised this place only has 3 stars! I had an absolutely wonderful time. I feel like so many people aren't considering the heavy use of this hotel. In my opinion, it isn't worn down or outdated, it is used day after day after day! Plus, where there's dogs, there are scratches and whatnot. I also feel like I need to touch on the the balcony situations. If you pay for an oceanfront view, you will get a full oceanfront view. If you pay less for a partial view, you will get what you get. We paid for a full oceanfront view and it was absolutely *stunning*! I also thought the price was very reasonable for what we got! It's definitely not as expensive as it could be. The staff is so nice and the room was extremely clean. I am very weird about the cleanliness of my living space and it passed the test! The fact they allow dogs is HUGE for me. My pup loved playing on the beach and running around the spacey hotel room. The playground they have in the outdoor pool area was also huge for me! It was the perfect size for my 22 month old daughter! Probably a little small for bigger kids, but perfect for toddlers and alike! My only complaint is that there wasn't a freezer attached to the refrigerator. Our ice packs stayed decent in the refrigerator itself but didn't keep our cooler cold for the 6 hour drive to our next destination. I highly recommend this place! read more

My husband & I visited Double Tree Hotel 2717 West Macon Rd, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512 this past weekend (Nov.8, 9, left on the 10th 2024). I was there to celebrate my birthday on Nov. 9th. We arrived that evening on Saturday, Nov. 8th. We were going to check in & my husband, an elderly U. S. Marine Corp Veteran, went to the vehicle to get the bags. He fell outside on the concrete hitting his head very hard on the curb. His head was bashed some, and we had to go to hospital by ambulance. It was very scary for us. Your staff, your hotel manager (Ms. Cindy Patton), and the patrons were all so very kind and helpful. I mean they were really amazing. Someone called the ambulance for him. I am so grateful. We were able to return to the hotel many hours later (from the hospital). The stay was nice and the food at your restaurant was amazing. read more

Beautiful beach, beautiful views from the 6th floor. Friendly responsive staff. Love that they allow dogs - pet fee was reasonable and our pup loved it too! Def some older flooring and sleeper couch was not great as a couch, but it was clean with comfortable beds and small table with chairs to eat at. We had a two room king suite, had two balconies with oceanfront and city views, that was awesome and good room for the dog to roam. Great big pool area. Only prob was the tiny standing balconies with no chairs, two small beach chairs barely fit and they were sideways. Restaurants on site weren't great and don't stay open late - good for drinks but uber charred (burnt) burgers, bland steamed shrimp, bland food in general. Weird system for ordering takeout/room service, hard to figure it out. Overall nice and peaceful though maybe little overpriced. read more

Avoid! We have stayed here several times and the condition of the place continually gets worse. This is unfortunate because of the great location. We do not plan to stay here anymore and it sheds a treble light on the Hilton brand. The first floor/entrance is well maintained but the remainder of the hotel is very very shabby. Carpet are stained and appear dirty. Most door surfaces are badly chipped, scratched and/or the finish is peeling off. Windows are dirty. Etc. Secondly, on our last stay we were there for several days and had the check out date incorrect, our calendar had us checking out Wednesday but only booked until Tuesday. (Keep in mind this is the winter and the hotel is at 10 to 20% capacity). When the staff contact us to bring this to our attention that we should have checked out they were extremely rude to my wife. As a result, instead booking another night we checked out and went elsewhere. Will not be recommending or using this hotel again. read more

I'm a Hilton junkie, and always book through their app. I booked this location over the summer when my sister and I went to the coast for a long weekend. DoubleTree is one of my favorite of Hilton's brands, but this one missed the target. They had only one person working the counter and it took FOREVER to get settled. I'm an Honors member so I'm used to a separate line for that. Anyway... The room was only okay, and I don't remember that we got the waters for being Honors members and they were out of their fabulous cookies. The place wasn't all that clean either. I wouldn't stay here again unless I had to, or unless it's improved. read more

Price gouged and duped by the Hilton name and reputation. Liked · The adjoining restaurant Mollies had very good food at reasonable prices. The location was acceptable to attend the NC Seafood Festival. Disliked · Hilton should remove their name from this establishment. The room was filthy. There isn't enough space or time to describe the disgust and disappointment in this establishment. All of our concerns have been photographed and documented and as per Booking.Com will have to be taken up with Hilton. The use of the term "Ocean View" in this case was a joke. Our view was the parking lot and the street unless you went out on the balcony and looked down the side of the hotel. I paid less money at the Opryland Resort in Nashville for the same three night stay. Find anywhere else but here to stay when visiting Atlantic Beach. Don't be taken in by he Hilton name. read more

Dirty and run down hotel. Roach in the tub and the lock on the door to the room was broken. Dirty carpet. I would avoid this hotel. The location is good....just everything else is not! read more
