Room floor was so dirty my feet got dirty walking on it. I complained and asked them to mop. They said they did while I was gone but when I came back it still had grit and sand? on it. I spilled something on the bed so I pulled the sheets up from the mattress. When I came back later they just laid the sheets and blanket back down. I again had to go to the desk and ask for service. Went to the pool and some substance was floating in the corner. It looked like vomit. I alerted the staff and they said it was just pollen and suntan lotion. Pollen in late July? Was informed by other guest that 2 days prior someone had been vomiting in the pool and they never cleaned it. It's a bizarre time to be reviewing most things because Covid has obviously thrown off the "normal" into many shades of grey. With that said, take this one with a grain of salt as it's only a brief snapshot in time for how things are now. In another month or two, who knows? Let's start with the good: The location to the beach couldn't be any better. Just a short walk and you're there. The hotel was sold out or near it every night we were there yet the beach area directly across the street was never busy. The same as last year with seeing the same families and people every day more or less set up in the same spot very spread out from each other. All Covidly perfect. Not so good: Hilton Honors benefits at check in are still a no here, just like last year. The beds are extremely squeaky. Any sitting/moving = high pitched squeaking. The hotel is not following the new Hilton/Lysol cleaning protocol that started a few weeks ago. No stickers on the room doors or verbiage anywhere on property. I was told at check in that if you want your garbage taken to have it in the hallway early in the morning so that housekeeping could grab it and that the only way to get fresh towels or any bedding was to stop a housekeeper in the hall with your old stuff or bring your old stuff with you to the front desk since the hotel was running extremely low. Is the hotel's linen par really that low? Is the smell of that much garbage-food in the hallways overnight a good idea? Our room was dusty/sandy when we checked in and the a/c unit was filthy. No way were either cleaned thoroughly in a while. But since there was no daily housekeeping and with the hotel being sold out the day we checked in... If you want a hotel that has a great beach location that is out of the way and quiet, this is it. Past that, things were on the dirtier side in general and I question any place not following the new cleaning protocol. Time to give this one a rest for a bit. read more

I will start with the positives: Fantastic bed! Typical Hampton Inn fashion with the most comfortable duvet. The breakfast. Amazing!!! Best hotel breakfast other than Embassy Suites made to order omelets I have had in awhile. That's it. The building itself seems really old and decor is extremely outdated in the rooms. The place has a weird odor and the couch was like a gym mat you put on the floor to practice tumbling. Upon check in 3 young girls were there and none of them really were very friendly. I tried asking them questions and they could have cared less. They said I couldn't use my Hilton rewards because I booked through an outside service. I have never , ever had a issue with that before. I booked a room with a golf view and got a view of a tree and a green moat. The golf course was on the other side. I liked the tree so I didn't say anything. I couldn't find the remote so I called down and asked them if they knew where the remote is. She said I don't know where yours is but I have one here. I told her I was in my pajamas and she still said I had to come down and get it. Once again, there were 3 people at the front. I finally did go down and get the remote and it only worked on volume and power. No channels. I was over it. The shower took forever to get warm and the toilet didn't flush correctly. Stains on walls that needed magic eraser and just gross. The Hampton Inn In Morehead is SO much better! This place really needs to get better customer service, update the hotel immensely and represent Hilton brand better. read more

This is our 3rd visit to Atlantic Beach/Crystal Coast/ Emerald Isle. This beach is between Nags Head and the coast in Myrtle Beach. each time we come to this beach we stayed at this Hampton Inn Suites with a fridge, microwave, and a sofa and wet bar. The room is suited like a studio or a small apt. Our room today overlooks to the beach which is a walk across the street. We checked in at just before two and our room was ready. It was almost seamless and I would have given a 5 if not for the staff, in the middle of activating the key cards, when she took a phone call that lasted longer than necessary and seemed she forgot about us, and she could asked the caller to hold while she concluded with us, I felt like we waited longer unnecessarily so I held out a star. The hotel is clean, AC kicking well, I turned it to 68 from 70, it is working well, the bathroom was tidy with all necessary towels and toiletries(i bring my own dove soap and Kerastase shampoo and body lotion). TV is a 32-inch okay, I chose 2 beds ( i use one for laying out my clothes, the other simply for sleeping) typical Hilton bed with down pillows 4 in each beds. It also has a writing desk and ergo chair and a long leather sectional sofa. Overall a very good hotel for when we are coming to the beach, not as tourisy as the Outerbanks so the drive here was easy. The sister DoubleTree hotel is right on thr beach and just across the street but booking is always tough as it is always sold out at preferential price. Anyway, either Hilton brand is comparable and is perfect when you are coming to Emerald Isle! read more

Not the best value for the $. But let's talked about it. We have never stayed on Atlantic Beach. We selected this location solely because of the beach access. The beach is just across the street and down a boardwalk. The lobby is inviting, the check in clerk was friendly. Our room was comfy, it appeared clean. I will post pics. Because of the location of the hotel, we couldn't find a lot of opportunities for places to eat, grab a treat, or dessert. The iron in the room didn't work. The layout was a bit awkward. The vanity being in front of the bed. The bathroom was incredibly small. Barely room for the door to close past the toilet. The appearance of a clean room was quickly dashed when I went to grab a shower. There was mildew out the wall and on the ceiling. Sooooo not clean, not clean in the least. read more

Great beach access, decent sized rooms. We realized this isn't a part of the beach where you want to go if you actually care about social distancing. Almost every business here is in IDGAF mode. Employees are doing their part but are not actively monitoring the pool. Its "honor system" as far as in-pool (5) and deck capacity (33) goes. And when you combine this with the IDGAF attitude here, well, you will need to adjust your plan accordingly. They should just close the pool, but I imagine its a business decision to keep it open. read more

Our stay was pretty good. The breakfast is good and they keep it well stocked. The breakfast options are sure to please a variety of eaters. Fruit is kept out for the taking throughout the day. Treats are available in the afternoon and early evening. They have a coffee and tea station, as well. Plenty of dining space inside or out. The staff is friendly. Good customer service and not afraid to speak in passing. It's actually nice to get a "good morning" and be acknowledged. My favorite staff interaction was when one young man mentioned that he too was a Lions fan. I happened to be wearing a Lions shirt, the guy isn't a stalker Anyway I may be biased on that one. The room was taken care of everyday when we were out. They even have a cute way of folding their towels when they leave them on the bed. It was so nice coming back from the beach to a clean room. The downfall are the facilities. Nothing real major just things that could be done to help with aesthetics. The furniture in the pool area was broken down. Mainly, the lounge chairs were the worst. I'd rather they weren't there than see them broken and unusable. The other furniture looked fine. The cement around the pool had long cracks. They weren't deep cracks, so to me they seem like an easy fix. The closest working ice machine was on the second floor. We were on the fourth floor. So, that got old. And finally, the freezer door inside the fridge would not stay closed. Every time the fridge was opened it was a battle to put the freezer door back on. The walk to the beach wasn't bad. It's no worry crossing the 35 mph "highway". Cars will stop and let you cross, usually. Fort Macon State Park is just a short drive away. It's a nice area to look for shells or possibly see cruise ships come into port. Very enjoyable! read more

It's Christmas Eve and I need a place to spend the night before visiting family in the morning. I was merrily greeted by the lone desk agent (Alexis C.) who was very welcoming and efficiently and professionally checked me into my room. After taking a few cookies she showed me their gym which is about twice the size of gyms in higher rated hotels. I also got to see the pool but it's nighttime. I'll update my review in the morning when I've tried their breakfast! If you're in the area during the winter, the cost-benefit of this hotel makes for easy decisions. Come summer this stretch of beach gets super busy and the prices adjust accordingly. read more

My family and I loved this location. We came multiple times until this time when we found cockroaches in our room. With COVID I understand, but cockroaches crawling around a Hilton hotel room is not okay. I went to the front desk, and they offered me "bee killer" and told me someone could come by tomorrow to spray. I called corporate, and was left on the phone for 40 minutes. There were no orooms available rooms so we were forced to sleep in a cockroach infested room. Disappointed because in the past this hotel has been amazing. read more

This hotel was great! The staff was super friendly, the room was clean, the view was awesome, and the breakfast was great and fresh. I stayed here 4 nights. I agree with one of the previous reviews, the signage isn't that great, especially in the dark. You really have to pay attention and know what your looking for. Every night they have cookies and fresh popcorn, and they ALWAYS have coffee out, which was great! I was there for a wedding and the bride was staying with me so we were doing a lot of running around. That coffee was a lifesaver! The free wi-fi was also great--none of my party was from there so we were always mapping stuff on our Ipads to figure out where we were going ahead of time. Our room also had a fridge, microwave, little kitchen sink and counterspace which was great for our drinks and snacks. The room also had a large sectional (&pull out bed) couch that was comfortable and helpful for laying out all our stuff! Very rarely have I used an iron in a hotel (or ever, for that matter! Ha!) but I had to this time. The iron had obviously been used by someone who didn't care about keeping things nice and was kinda rough. The ironing board cover could have also used a good washing but it wasn't a big deal. I'm sure if I would have asked they would have brought me other ones. I would defiantly stay here again if I had the chance and recommend it to anyone going there. read more

First off, what's not to love about free waffles?! Besides the free waffles, the customer service is stellar- the nighttime front desk guy (we think his name was Jordan?) was so friendly and gave us some great recommendations for restaurants in Beaufort, where we were headed. The double rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated- LOVE the green walls- and they have free wi-fi, which most non-chain hotels charge a fee for. The gym is spacious and clean with working equipment and towels. And I love the little sundries shop downstairs- it was so easy to get a snack after my workout. There's a little gas station right down the street that has a pretty decent selection of beer and wine at good prices (I like to know where the nearest booze is while on vacation :-P). Also there's a grocery store about a mile away if you're planning to stay a few days. All in all, this Hampton is a great affordable option for a weekend at the beach, and I will definitely keep it in mind for future trips. FREE WAFFLES! read more

WARNING: If you are traveling, I HIGHLY recommend that you book with someone else. There are some reputable, friendly, clean & competent hotels and inns very close to here. My experience... 16 hours of travel...planes, airports & automobiles. I was SO happy to get to my hotel room after traveling so long! I booked my room directly through the hotel in advance, called twice before my trip to make sure everything was still ok, due to the hurricane. I booked my flight based on my hotel reservation. I was assured that my room was perfect & was told there wasn't anything to worry about in regards to the hurricane damage, as I was worried. I should have listened to my gut. My entire trip was changed due to this hotels incompetence, lack of customer service or even empathy & unbelievable rudeness of the employees.My room was given to someone else per the front desk & they cancelled my 5 day reservation to make this accommodation, while putting in the notes I cancelled it! This is a Hilton affiliate...I really need to remember how badly Hilton and its affiliates have gone down hill. This was the absolute worst travel experience I have ever had. I was exhausted, thankful to be there and in the middle of no where. The young lady at the desk was so catty, it was unreal! When I walked in smiling & gave her my name and reservation #, she told me that she canceled my reservation & gave it to someone else. My phone # & email were in my reservation & this happened w/o any notification whatsoever! I am shocked that this could even happen! I have never in my life had this happen & when I am that far away from home, it's not an easy feeling. When I asked her how that is possible for her to cancel my reservation without my consent, she said she gave my room to someone from Expedia & said all hotels are booked around here, then stared at me blankly. Then her coworker came out talking about her boyfriend & a police officer came into the hotel, oblivious to everything besides flirting & talking very unprofessionally about her boyfriend & what they were going to do when she got home...really? It was like a nightmare but in reality. But I didn't know it could get even worse...When I planned this trip, there were multiple hotels and cute inns available, I obviously did not book a room anywhere else. They literally had nothing to say, but stare blankly and act like it was no big deal to cancel my 5 night reservation, knowing there were no vacancies for a long ways in a car. These employees were messing around, acting ditzy, like they were drunk or on drugs, I'm not sure, but their actions were quite inappropriate, especially during this ordeal. This happened right in front of me & multiple guests in their very small bar area AND the PO that seemed to love it. I am SO glad I don't pay taxes there & pay his salary, there were crackheads on the streets & he is in a hotel lobby flirting & talking inappropriately in front of guests...was this a nightmare? I literally felt like this must be another country or I was in a nightmare. The pictures online really make this place look bigger, cleaner and much different...I wish I took accurate photos to share, but again, I was exhausted! What I had to do...booked the closest room available (without any idea how bad the motel was, it was the closest and only one room available), drove another 2 hours completely sleep deprived (100 miles), as I had no other choice or I would never drive in that condition. Worst motel of my life & 70 bucks down the drain, lucky I didn't get bed bugs, I didn't want to touch anything! It was scary! I am literally shocked/flabbergasted that I have a confirmed email, they have my phone number/contact info & put a hold/charge on my credit card, but just cancel me without any notice?! If I were to cancel, then I would have been charged!My reservation is marked as a late cancel per the manager Judy, who I called when I got home. I was not dealing with this while on what I could salvage of my vacation, I ended up in SC at the Marriott and spent over $2000 over my budget due to this hotels incompetence. That is nothing compared to how it made me feel and how it took 2 days off my vacation! Judy gave me many excuses about hurricane damage, she couldn't find my reservation initially, instead of I'm sorry, how may I help...this is the manager?! I asked for the names of who was working so I can add them to my letter to their general manager and to his supervisor. She said she could transfer me to her GM's voicemail but could not give me the first names of the employees working? Very strange...I left a message about the incident on the GMs vm and there has been no response. Not surprised. Front Desk staff was nice and helpful when I requested a quiet room. The Golf Course view was just fine. Modern sectional sofa, pull out bed. Nice kitchenette. AC worked well. Hotel is clean and is well stocked with fresh pool towels, ice and hot coffee all day. They even offer complimentary popcorn! A hit with all. Pizza delivers right to your door. Clean, family beach a quick walk across the street. Lots of food choices close by as well as dollar store, beach stores, Food Lion just down the road. Hot breakfast was good and plenty of variety. We have enjoyed our two night stay. We used the Hilton Honors app to check in before arrival and to open our room via Bluetooth. It's so nice to skip the front desk after a long drive! When we did go to the desk later the staff was very friendly. All staff I encountered during my stay have been very pleasant. This was true even during the BUSY breakfast rush when the staff tried hard to keep things stocked. We enjoyed little touches like complimentary popcorn and cookies at different times in the lobby. Our room was clean and comfortable. The beach access is literally right across the street. So convenient! This is a great spot for your beach vacation. read more

We had a lovely stay July 9-12. Our room had a King size bed. The room in general was amazing BUT for that size There should have been a little bit bigger TV. Breakfast was very delicious. This Hampton Inn is NICE! It's just north of Emerald Isle in Pine Knoll Shores right off the main road. After staying somewhere less than stellar our first night in town, we checked in on the afternoon of Saturday, March 17th for one night only. I first saw the lovely outside patio that must accompany a lounge inside and the pool with nice poolside furniture and was already impressed with how they presented themselves. We went in the front door and it seemed a little regal with nice carpeting, chairs, and columns in the foyer, lobby, and lounge areas. It also had a personal and family-friendly touch with a popcorn maker machine in the lobby near the elevators. I've heard there is a gym somewhere in the building, but I had no time or interest in that. Our room was on the third floor and I liked how all the room numbers had nice NC-themed black and white photographs accompanying them. As I entered our room I walked into a sitting room with a nice long couch and to the right was a small kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker located behind a nice desk. In between the desk and the next room was a large flat screen tv situated on a dresser. The room had a king size bed with a down bedspread and pillows. The A/C unit by the window is controlled by a digital wall thermostat. The bathroom area across from the bed had a large countertop, sink, and mirror with plenty of toiletry samples. To the right was a mirrored closet and to the left was the standard bathroom. Our room was at the end of the hallway so it was a little more private and out our window we could see across the street past the trees and beachfront houses to a nice view of the ocean. Doesn't get much better than that... ...except their complimentary breakfast is awesome!!! Several juices to choose from, cereals, muffins and pastries, bacon and sausage, scrambled eggs, and a wafflemaker! There were even a couple staff members floating around the breakfast area and lounge to make sure all our needs were met. Plenty of TV's to catch the news and enjoy your breakfast. I highly recommend this Hampton Inn for its great quality and convenience to Emerald Isle, Pine Knoll Shores, Atlantic Beach, and the surrounding areas. read more

This hotel is awesome. The staff is great, the location is beautiful -easy walk to the beach. There is a chorus of frogs singing to greet you in the evening. Beautiful welcoming outside seating, nice outdoor pool. But the best part is the food-hot breakfasts and not just the usual. They had fresh fruit with pineapple and papaya, omelettes, bagels topped with cheese and bacon, hot oatmeal bar. My kids love the hot chocolate chip cookies they have on arrival and the popcorn machine is constantly running. Great coffee too! The rooms are spacious and sleep 6 and the price is great. The accommodations were lovely. New and modern, our king size room had a sectional sofa, microwave, fridge, bar sink, desk. The bathroom was a little small, but the sink was outside, the toilet and tub behind the door. The thermostat worked as it should, the room temperature was great. There was no smell and everything was clean and in its place. What more could you ask? It was a spur of the moment stop for us, but I would definitely bring my family back if we were to come for a vacation. The outdoor pool area was lovely. It's January so obviously not open, but I can see myself out there when it is warm enjoying a book and cold drink. This Hampton has gone down hill and is in desperate need of a re-do. There are so many things wrong and the hotel seems understaffed. We reserved a King room but upon arrival were given a "Queen" room at a significant amount more than told when making the reservation. We did not receive an email confirmation after making the reservation, so could not confirm the price quoted. Make sure you get a confirmation. Our "queen" room was actually 2 double beds and I can assure you they did not have the famous Hampton mattresses. The air conditioner would not work off of the wall thermostat -- and the vents on the air conditioner were clogged with filth from lack of maintenance and cleaning. We set the temp at 67 Degrees and the room never cooled below 74 degrees. And no, it was not in the 90's during our stay. Temps stayed in the 80s. The pool was another area of concern. Never saw anyone cleaning the area or testing the pool water. There was sand and hair and multiple broken toys floating in the pool. Broken chairs and umbrellas were all around the pool and the safety equipment was blocked by tables and chairs. I'm sure this would be considered unacceptable by any agency that does inspections of hotel properties. The sinks in the room did not drain and the "small ass" bathroom in pictures posted by others is in fact true. You almost have to get in the bathtub to close the door. Carpet and Furniture is old and worn - and there is dirt and sand piled up in the corners of the room because of lack of cleaning. It appears that employees are doing multiple jobs -- front desk clerk was wiping down the tables in the breakfast area -- no other employee was seen restocking the breakfast bar in the 30 minutes we sat and ate. Hire some help!!! We paid $287 per night and I can tell you there are better places to stay in the area if you plan your trip. I'll be using VRBO or Home Away in the future since Hampton doesn't seem to care if they provide great quality for the amount you pay. Go somewhere else! This Hampton isn't worth the $$$ read more

Wonderful! Very nice place. Friendly staff, spacious rooms and very clean. Fairly recently remodeled. Okay free breakfast, free popcorn all day and free fresh-baked cookies in evening. Only downfall was having to cross busy road to get to beach, but it was doable. Pool was outside - basically in parking lot - and had little sun cover and often seemed a bit unkept. Good location out of the hub-bub of Atlantic Beach proper, but close enough to everything. Public beach stretched for miles in either direction and was absolutely beautiful and not very crowded. Nice neighborhood behind the hotel, including country club, good for morning walks along quiet, shady residential neighborhood streets. read more

Looking for a great hotel. This place is an excellent hotel. It is very clean .....the staff is friendly and the complimentary breakfast is great. I do like the location being across from the beach. You do have to cross a road to get to it but there is a public beach access right across from the street. The this hotel has a great heated pool and a fitness room that has just enough equipment to get your work out on. I highly suggest this hotel if you need somewhere to crash at the beach and hang for a while. read more

Talk about underrated. This was a long sought gem after staying the first 3 nights elsewhere in a super 8 motel. Of all the hotels in the area, this was the cheapest yet had the best location. Unbelievable. I asked for a quiet room and highest floor I could get and I get awarded an ocean view on the 3rd floor without the extra price. You could walk across the street to public beach access. The rooms are very clean, modern remodeled but not swanky on the douche side. The breakfast buffet in morning is free and yes, you can make belgian waffles. The only gripe? I wish they had an indoor pool. There is an outdoor pool but no spa. I love how they have coffee and tea freshly hot downstairs for you and newspapers, nice gym etc. Its a quiet getaway which is nice and chill if you want a weekend getaway from a trip to Durham, North Carolina. read more

Very nice hotel for the money. Above average hotel breakfast and coffee, popcorn and cookies severed throughout the day. Only downside was the oceanview wasn't really an oceanview, more like a view of some marshland; maybe the 4th floor has oceanview but 1-3 dis not. Beach access was convenient but the path was almost impassable due to the local town allowing severe overgrowth to overtake the path, ride Down to Fort Macon park and use their access there, it's way nicer. As far as hotels goes I will definitely be staying here again, not outlandishly nice but better than your normal run of the mill worn out hotels. read more

This is my second visit to the Hampton Inn. First of all the staff is very pleasant and helpful in any way. The rooms are very nice, clean and updated. Breakfast is very good with a large variety . Popcorn all day ,fresh coffee and baked cookies in the evening. The only complaint I have is that washer and dryer should be updated. It took $6 just to dry a small load due to the fact that the washer didn't not spin out all of the water which cost $2 a load. Clothes were soaked and they had to be rung out. The pool is on the side of the hotel with easy access and comfortable seating. Beautifully lit up at night. The walk to the beach is about 5 min which isn't too bad. You have to cross the road to reach the wooden walkway . It's well lit for the nighttime stroll on the beach. read more

We stayed here after escaping our previous motel. MUCH BETTER!! The breakfast is awesome and the rooms are nice, fresh, and clean. Pleasant and cheerful staff, as well. The beach access is right across the road after going through the crosswalk. Highly recommended!! No complaints whatsoever! read more

This hotel is located across the street from the ocean. The hotel has a nice boardwalk that you can utilize to get to the beach. They have a very nice staff and rooms are large and great for a family traveling for a beach vacation. The hotel offers free hot breakfast and back up to a nice golf course. I got to play a round of golf which the staff was gracious enough to schedule a tee time for me. I will definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again when visiting the area. read more

Worst Hampton Inn I have ever been to! The room was filthy, dirty coverlet, sticky floor, and I do not believe the room had been vacuumed. Breakfast was horrid, only vaguely resembled a typical HI breakfast and the eating area was also dirty. I will say that the housekeeping staff brought a clean duvet and the front desk staff was friendly, but I would definitely not recommend staying here! read more
