I will start with the positives: Fantastic bed! Typical Hampton Inn fashion with the most comfortable duvet. The breakfast. Amazing!!! Best hotel breakfast other than Embassy Suites made to order omelets I have had in awhile. That's it. The building itself seems really old and decor is extremely outdated in the rooms. The place has a weird odor and the couch was like a gym mat you put on the floor to practice tumbling. Upon check in 3 young girls were there and none of them really were very friendly. I tried asking them questions and they could have cared less. They said I couldn't use my Hilton rewards because I booked through an outside service. I have never , ever had a issue with that before. I booked a room with a golf view and got a view of a tree and a green moat. The golf course was on the other side. I liked the tree so I didn't say anything. I couldn't find the remote so I called down and asked them if they knew where the remote is. She said I don't know where yours is but I have one here. I told her I was in my pajamas and she still said I had to come down and get it. Once again, there were 3 people at the front. I finally did go down and get the remote and it only worked on volume and power. No channels. I was over it. The shower took forever to get warm and the toilet didn't flush correctly. Stains on walls that needed magic eraser and just gross. The Hampton Inn In Morehead is SO much better! This place really needs to get better customer service, update the hotel immensely and represent Hilton brand better.

This is our 3rd visit to Atlantic Beach/Crystal Coast/ Emerald Isle. This beach is between Nags Head and the coast in Myrtle Beach. each time we come to this beach we stayed at this Hampton Inn Suites with a fridge, microwave, and a sofa and wet bar. The room is suited like a studio or a small apt. Our room today overlooks to the beach which is a walk across the street. We checked in at just before two and our room was ready. It was almost seamless and I would have given a 5 if not for the staff, in the middle of activating the key cards, when she took a phone call that lasted longer than necessary and seemed she forgot about us, and she could asked the caller to hold while she concluded with us, I felt like we waited longer unnecessarily so I held out a star. The hotel is clean, AC kicking well, I turned it to 68 from 70, it is working well, the bathroom was tidy with all necessary towels and toiletries(i bring my own dove soap and Kerastase shampoo and body lotion). TV is a 32-inch okay, I chose 2 beds ( i use one for laying out my clothes, the other simply for sleeping) typical Hilton bed with down pillows 4 in each beds. It also has a writing desk and ergo chair and a long leather sectional sofa. Overall a very good hotel for when we are coming to the beach, not as tourisy as the Outerbanks so the drive here was easy. The sister DoubleTree hotel is right on thr beach and just across the street but booking is always tough as it is always sold out at preferential price. Anyway, either Hilton brand is comparable and is perfect when you are coming to Emerald Isle!

Not the best value for the $. But let's talked about it. We have never stayed on Atlantic Beach. We selected this location solely because of the beach access. The beach is just across the street and down a boardwalk. The lobby is inviting, the check in clerk was friendly. Our room was comfy, it appeared clean. I will post pics. Because of the location of the hotel, we couldn't find a lot of opportunities for places to eat, grab a treat, or dessert. The iron in the room didn't work. The layout was a bit awkward. The vanity being in front of the bed. The bathroom was incredibly small. Barely room for the door to close past the toilet. The appearance of a clean room was quickly dashed when I went to grab a shower. There was mildew out the wall and on the ceiling. Sooooo not clean, not clean in the least.

Our stay was pretty good. The breakfast is good and they keep it well stocked. The breakfast options are sure to please a variety of eaters. Fruit is kept out for the taking throughout the day. Treats are available in the afternoon and early evening. They have a coffee and tea station, as well. Plenty of dining space inside or out. The staff is friendly. Good customer service and not afraid to speak in passing. It's actually nice to get a "good morning" and be acknowledged. My favorite staff interaction was when one young man mentioned that he too was a Lions fan. I happened to be wearing a Lions shirt, the guy isn't a stalker Anyway I may be biased on that one. The room was taken care of everyday when we were out. They even have a cute way of folding their towels when they leave them on the bed. It was so nice coming back from the beach to a clean room. The downfall are the facilities. Nothing real major just things that could be done to help with aesthetics. The furniture in the pool area was broken down. Mainly, the lounge chairs were the worst. I'd rather they weren't there than see them broken and unusable. The other furniture looked fine. The cement around the pool had long cracks. They weren't deep cracks, so to me they seem like an easy fix. The closest working ice machine was on the second floor. We were on the fourth floor. So, that got old. And finally, the freezer door inside the fridge would not stay closed. Every time the fridge was opened it was a battle to put the freezer door back on. The walk to the beach wasn't bad. It's no worry crossing the 35 mph "highway". Cars will stop and let you cross, usually. Fort Macon State Park is just a short drive away. It's a nice area to look for shells or possibly see cruise ships come into port. Very enjoyable!

It's Christmas Eve and I need a place to spend the night before visiting family in the morning. I was merrily greeted by the lone desk agent (Alexis C.) who was very welcoming and efficiently and professionally checked me into my room. After taking a few cookies she showed me their gym which is about twice the size of gyms in higher rated hotels. I also got to see the pool but it's nighttime. I'll update my review in the morning when I've tried their breakfast! If you're in the area during the winter, the cost-benefit of this hotel makes for easy decisions. Come summer this stretch of beach gets super busy and the prices adjust accordingly.

A cockroach found in my hotel room

My family and I loved this location. We came multiple times until this time when we found cockroaches in our room. With COVID I understand, but cockroaches crawling around a Hilton hotel room is not okay. I went to the front desk, and they offered me "bee killer" and told me someone could come by tomorrow to spray. I called corporate, and was left on the phone for 40 minutes. There were no orooms available rooms so we were forced to sleep in a cockroach infested room. Disappointed because in the past this hotel has been amazing.

It's ok. But for the same price you might get a better hotel near the beach. Rooms are bit outdated.

The TV is a very small and not smart TV. The bathroom is small but manageable for a couple. Another thing is the WiFi is bad and I have been completely disconnected to just be on my phone. Other than those minor complaints the hotel is nice and I would recommend staying here. Could use some minor cosmetic touch ups in places. And another complaint is the chairs they say are complimentary for the beach, most are broken. And majority of people claim them before you can get down on the beach, so I recommend bringing your own chairs.

We were so excited to visit Atlantic Beach and looking forward to staying at the Crystal Coast Oceanfront Hotel, because the photos of this hotel were amazing. We almost drove past the hotel when we arrived. The color of the building looked faded and dingy. Beware that the images that they display on their website don't show the filth. I shrugged and decided that it's close to the ocean and although looking weathered, I was going to enter and make the most of this time away from the office. We approached the front door and the glass was dirty, the handle to the hotel felt dirty and gritty in my hands as we entered. We arrived early and they told us our room wasn't ready and that check-in time was at 4:00. The couple that arrived just after us were allowed to check in although early and went to their room. We went back into the hotel at about 3:45 to get in line to pick up our keys, because the foyer was full. We were told at approximately 4:30 that our room wasn't ready and that they were short staffed, had over 80 rooms to get ready and that we would just have to wait in the lobby, the restaurant or we could go to the pool or the beach. We were traveling with our dog and had over $12,000.00 dollars worth of bikes on the bike rack. The options that she presented for us wouldn't work. We moved aside and let the people behind us go, since they might have better luck. We got back into line and made it to the check-in desk at about 4:40-4:45. We explained that the options that she had presented wouldn't work for us and we asked to have our money back so that we could go elsewhere. She refused and we asked to speak to the manager. She said that the manager wasn't available. I told her that we would get our money back, because we made a reservation for a room, paid in advance and they didn't have the room that we reserved. At that moment, we felt like we were in the Jerry Seinfeld episode...You can take the reservation, but don't know how to hold the reservation. She told us we would have to came back later and talk with the manager. We went after dinner at around 7:00. The front desk attendant was missing in action, so we rang the bell on the counter. She finally came into the office and smelled as thought she had been smoking a cigarette. She said, how can I help you and she had completely forgotten what had happened just a few hours earlier. We explained that we had tried to check in and our room wasn't ready and we wanted to speak with the manager. We were once again told that the manager wasn't available. We asked her to give our money back or to call the manager so that they could process the refund. She told me to quit screaming at her. I looked around and the lobby was full. I told her that I wasn't screaming and that she simply didn't want to hear what I had to say. I told my supervisor what the front desk attendant said about me screaming. He said that he has worked along side of me for the last 19 years and has never heard me scream at anyone and didn't even think that I could scream. My nickname is mouse, because I have a tiny voice. We tried to call the hotel throughout the week and nobody would answer the phone. We finally made our way back to the Hotel on Friday. They refused to offer a refund and told us we would need to call Expedia. Our reservation was made through booking.com. We called booking.com, explained that our room wasn't ready and that we had to secure another last minute reservation for the week. The representative placed us on hold and called the hotel to request that they refund our money if the room wasn't ready on time as we had stated. The manager said that she was declining the refund. The booking.com representative said okay, but I have just 1 more question before you hang up. Was their room ready at 4:00? The manager said that the room wasn't ready and hung up the phone. Booking.com got our money back with 24 hours after we made the call. They also paid the difference that we paid the Crystal Coast Oceanfront Hotel and the hotel that we were able to secure a last minute reservation.

As you enter, you notice that the trash cans by the door are clean and empty, the glass doors clean and a woman is mopping wet footprints off of the floor each time someone walks across the lobby. The staff comes in early in the morning and you see them arrive with clean, pressed uniforms as they are talking and entering the building. They are a team and everyone knows their job and takes pride in their work. The pool deck and walkway to the beach are cleaned every morning. The men that take care of the outside amenities empty the trash, pick up items left behind and straighten the patio furniture before anyone comes to use the amenities. The groundskeepers then show up and mow the grass with a battery powered mower and weedwacker so that it doesn't disturb anyone that is still sleeping. They have coffee by the restaurant as early as 6:30 in the morning. It is hotel coffee, but this is a hotel and not a barista fixing your cup of morning joe. The restaurant that is on site and serves breakfast is very clean and offers seating options inside or on their patio. They are a little slow to get you seated, but once seated you are taken care of and don't need to ask for anything. Our cups were full and so were our stomachs as we got ready for a day at the beach. I don't like buffets. However, this buffet very clean and the food was good. We did sample the menu 2 of the days that we stayed. Th

DoubleTree by Hilton Atlantic Beach Oceanfront…read more I used electronic check-in, though I did stop by the front desk briefly to ask where the restaurant was before heading over for dinner about 40 minutes before closing. I'll cover that experience separately. Overall, the hotel delivered a solid stay. The room--707, oceanfront--was clean for the most part and well-equipped with everything you'd expect: refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker (filter-style pods), ironing board, hair dryer, and a television. Lighting is excellent, with plenty of lamps throughout the room, and there are ample AC outlets along with modern USB and USB-C ports, which is a nice touch. One feature that stood out was the small table with two chairs. It made a big difference since I ended up bringing dinner back to the room, and having a proper place to sit and eat comfortably is something not every hotel gets right. The room itself was spacious with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The view was great, and the setup made it easy to relax and enjoy the beachfront atmosphere. There was nothing wrong with the room--it was a solid, comfortable oceanfront stay. Parking is plentiful and free, which is always a plus in a beach area. One thing to keep in mind for this stretch of the coast: it tends to stay windy. Be prepared for strong winds and quick temperature changes, especially if you're spending time outside on the balcony or walking along the beach. Overall, a good, reliable oceanfront stay with the conveniences you want and a comfortable setup for relaxing by the water.

We were able to check in earlier than the 3pm time given online. The girls and I went into the cutest room with whales painted on the walls above painted waves. We chose a double bed room. There were two beds, a small wooden table with two chairs, another wooden bench, a dresser, small fridge, and microwave. There is a vanity with a large mirror, and a tiny bathroom with a shower/tub and toilet. The room was clean, and very neat. We had plenty of towels, as well as extra blankets for each bed. The air conditioning was working great! This hotel has two different picnic/outdoor seating areas. One is outside the area where most of the rooms are. The other outdoor area is down at the other end of the property. They had chairs, picnic tables, a grill, and even bbq tools ready to be used. The girls played with beach balls, and we were able to just sit back and relax. Their hotel also has boat slips in a little gut out back. If you choose to bring your boat, they're ready for you! The lady/owner got us into our room and was so nice. She explained the layout, and rules of the hotel. (No pets, no smoking, quiet time began at 10pm). She was so sweet. This is definitely a family-run business and is geared toward families. There is beach access directly across the road, but we took the short drive down to the Fort Macon beach area. The Caribbe Inn is close to the Morehead bridge, many restaurants, stores, beach shops, and other places you might need while at the beach. We had such a nice stay, and enjoyed our time away. We girls ate out, played on the beach, slept very well at night, and had a great stay at the Caribbe Inn! We will be back!

The owners still forced us leave immediately 2. We, two adults and two dogs, were given 20 minutes to pack and leave the property - with no place to stay for the night. 3. We were charged in full for the remaining nights 4. A $200 "smoking fee" was added to our bill Seahawk permits smoking on balconies and outdoor areas, where guests can often be seen smoking at all hours. We did not violate this rule (as confirmed by police) and there was no justification for how we were treated. We did not break their rules - so we're still trying to understand what happened. Did we look different? Did we dress differently than other guests? We don't know. Upon arrival, before we even unloaded the car, owner Gina Nanine (Albritton) Bunn entered our room while Frederick Moye Bunn attempted to repair the broken sliding glass door we'd discovered upon check-in. Her greeting to us: "Y'all ain't smokin' in here, are y'all? 'Cause if y'all are, then y'all gon' hafta leave." That was the first thing she said to us. I've stayed at the Seahawk for over 15 years - often multiple times a year. Never had an issue. Never expected that I'd end up trying to protect my family from the very place I once called my peaceful escape. This experience was, and continues to be, traumatic, humiliating, and deeply disappointing. This review is not written lightly. We share our experience so others can make informed decisions and stay safe.
