My go to hotel when in BTR. Location is ideal as its near several good restaurants, shopping and LSU Common areas of the hotel were renovated several years back. Hotel has a gym, full scope dining and bar area and above all GOOD service especially when you've been traveling all day!

I wanted to take the hubs on a weekend trip for his bday. I searched and searched, we'd never been to Baton Rouge so I thought it'd be fun. We needed the room with the pull out bed for our kid. I looked at the reviews and the pics and the reviews and the pics, as well as the price. Wasn't too much but wasn't cheap either and you'd figure it's a Doubletree so it should be nice. Welp, not so much. When we arrived the lobby smelled like overwhelming cheap stripper vanilla. The woman at the counter although very sweet and kind had what seemed to be her personal clothes on ( sweater or hoodie) and it was stained all down the front....ok whatever, but this is a Hilton brand so you'd figure they'd be pretty on top of first appearances. The elevator smelled like BO. There was trash on the floor in the elevator, when we exited our floor, the trash can in the hallway was over flowing and there was soda stains down the front of the can as well as on the floor. Oookaaay. Preview to a movie I don't want to see. We get to our room and it's small and dank and dirty a.f. I was pissed and embarrassed because I wanted to get a nice room for us for the weekend. The carpet was stained with either vomit or urine or both. The privacy glass between the 'living area' and the bedroom was so greasy and finger printed, I didn't even want to touch it. The bathroom sink when the water was used smelled like sewer. The couch and chair were stained as well. Once we popped open the sofa bed the mattress had some disgusting stains on it and no linens for it. The phone in the room didn't work so I had to go to front desk to ask for linens. I got two fitted sheets (to cover that nasty stain) and a top sheet and blanket. The girl at the front was quick and helpful to get them for us at least. If you want some cheap stale breakfast it's an extra $15. I'll drive to local diner - thanks. Over all I was pretty disappointed at the money spent on this tragedy. Don't be fooled by the pictures or the 5 star reviews. Maybe they've never stayed at an actual nice hotel. Idk, but this was not good at all.

I paid a ridiculous inflated price because of some sporting event (I was just traveling through) but usually Hampton inns have a quality I could count on. Nope, not here. First bad sign. Parts of the elevator found on the floor of the elevator. The room was not good. The bathroom floor was uneven. To the point of tripping me. And a drain in the floor was covered by vinyl flooring. The furniture is literally falling apart and the mattress was thin and noisy. The fridge which was barely cold ran constantly and had a hum that was loud enough to assume it was broken. I unplugged it to get to sleep.

Rooms are spacious, but the Tv's are so small. My eyes wanna come out of their socket, because I'm straining and squinting to see from the bed. Also I'm Asian, its worse for my itty bitty eyes. Everything seems clean. We're Honors card holders, we usually get free breakfast which isn't free here and free water or snacks upon checking in, we didn't get any of that. We had to go downstairs and asked for it later. Indoor pool is small, Jacuzzi is a good size. Gym is so dimmed, looks depressing. I asked for another set of towels to be delivered to my room, took them an hour. I waited for so long, I gave up and jumped in the shower. I kid you not, they were determined to get my towels to me. Knocked every 2 minutes, about 6 times, 4 hard knocks each time. I couldn't get to It! Finally they left it at my front door. Oh boy, now comes the breakfast buffet ($13, free for HHonors) let me say, thank God I didn't have to pay for it, or I would've busted a Gordon Ramsey move. It's worse than the free buffets at motels. Save your money!! My fruit had mold on it, bread felt like day old bread. Yogurt and condiments are almost non existent. Never had chewy overcooked, dry eggs before. I asked if there's cheese at least, nope no cheese. My options for meat was bacon that looks like it's made out of plastic or shribbled up sausage. A sad sad sight to have witness. The fire alarm also went off, I stayed on the 4th floor. I was about to evacuate, but looking outside my hotel room, only one older lady was leaving lol I called them right away and the girl goes "Well I'm on the first floor and I don't smell no smoke. Probably an accident." That's reassuring! Other than that, it was an okay stay haha

Worst hotel experience my family has ever had. Entered our room 511 and was hit in the face by strong Oder of mold. Upon further inspection mold was found growing in closet. Front desk then switched us to room 534, at first seemed better, but shortly after I developed a headache and felt ill. At 2am we contemplated leaving and heading back home to Florida. No rest to be had!

They upgraded me to a much better room, and the experience was good from then. Except, when I came out of the bath, there was a lizard on the wall. I am from California, I screamed! I am not used to anything but spiders! The pools downstairs also did not look the cleanest, so I did not even unpack my bathing suit. It was an average experience. Next time, I think I'll book an air b&B and skip the hotels all together.

She is so sweet and so polite. We asked her for many food recommendations, and all of the spots that she named were phenomenal. Now, we are not from here. So, maybe our idea of what is phenomenal to us may not be the same for others. But I can guarantee you one thing, The food places that were suggested to us not only served great food, but also they served up GR8 service. Everybody's attitudes were so enthusiastic and positive. Not to mention, we are in the south, everyone was so polite. There really is such a thing still as southern comfort and southern hospitality. We received both by staying here, at this hotel. This hotel was definitely clean and comfortable, well lit, and not super modern, but definitely not at all close to being outdated. I like that the pool area is open fairly late into the day and that towels and things are removed constantly. The restroom and icemaker areas are clean and kept that way all throughout the day and evening. The breakfast varies day-to-day. For example, yesterday there were waffles and breakfast sandwiches, eggs, bacon, sausage, patties, cereal, bagels, and other bread items available in addition to four or five may be different types of milk, and two kinds of yogurt. And today, many of the same items were offered along with biscuits and gravy. Nothing about this hotel has disappointed us one bit. All of the appliances in our room are in working condition. Dish, dishwashing detergent and sponges, coffee, utensils, some basic flatware, and other dishes of various types are available. There's also a long listing of different appliances and things that are available to be borrowed from the front desk. The one that really shocked us was a rice cooker. Room rates were definitely reasonable. And even more so now that I've seen the hotel, the room that we were given, all the things. You definitely get what you pay for. I have stayed in rooms that have costed four or five even seven times more than what I paid for this one and in comparison, while this one may not seem as fancy, it definitely offered more to me and was more valuable to me because I had all the things I needed to keep my family comfortable during this trip. Oh, and did I mention? Parking here is absolutely free. The hotel is very close to the freeway on ramp as well. That makes it very nice, on and off the freeway as we please very easily. Ever you were looking for a hotel in Baton Rouge I would stay here again, without question or hesitation !
