I love this hotel! The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious with big walk in showers & I love the look of the gold! The staff is friendly and the location is super close to bars and restaurants! Yes, we will return & yes, I recommend this place! Cheers!

Historic Charm, Thoughtful Service -- A Standout Stay in Baton Rouge I stayed at The Watermark Baton Rouge for a recent work event, and while it started off with a hiccup, the staff handled everything with such care that I ended up even more impressed. When I arrived, my room wasn't ready due to damage from a previous guest (ah, Mardi Gras...), which could have been a disaster considering I was in town for a professional event. Instead, the hotel quickly booked me a room at another nearby hotel at no additional charge--a classy move that kept my plans on track without any extra stress. When I was finally able to check into The Watermark the next night, I was greeted with a sincere apology and a thoughtful welcome: an amazing wine and cheese spread waiting in the room. That level of attention made it clear they understood how important my trip was, and they genuinely wanted to make it right. Mission accomplished. The room itself was worth the wait--clean, spacious, beautifully designed, and filled with character. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious, and the overall vibe of the hotel blends historic charm with modern comfort. Special shoutout to the staff, who were attentive and kind throughout. The downstairs restaurant, The Gregory, was also fantastic--great food, creative cocktails, and a warm atmosphere. Hopefully next time, the Mardi Gras crowd will go a little easier on the rooms--some of us are here for business! But regardless, The Watermark showed they can handle anything with grace. Highly recommend.

I never give hotels reviews but this place was so accommodating as I'm in a wheelchair. Pictured roll in shower with grab bars.

We stayed at the Marriott Watermark in Baton Rouge, in town with family and friends for the National Bowling Championships. Literally from the time we got here until we checked out was the most fabulous hotel experience EVER! We love our Marriott stays but this one!!!!!!! Wow!!!!! 5 Stars is an understatement! The building/hotel is coming up on its 100th year anniversary and the history alone is breathtaking. From Valet to room check in to housekeeping and room service was exceptional and the lounges downstairs are roomy comfy and perfect to congregate and enjoy food and drinks with your group or quiet time alone if you prefer. Beautiful room on the 11th floor overlooking the i10 bridge and the striking shimmer of the Mississippi River. The rooms are pure luxury and spacious and the shower is amazing and fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash that will certainly last anyone their entire trip. "The Gregory" is a fine restaurant choice downstairs near the bar and serves anything from a burger to fine steaks and seafood. The chef created every dish PERFECT!!! The servers are all good but I must say we had Elana for 2 different meals and I feel like I know her! Very personable, kind, fun and just an overall beautiful young lady inside and out oh!!! and make sure you meet and spend time with Mr. Bill he will help you in any way you may need and he will change your day, make you laugh and does some amazing tours of the property!!! We are planning another trip to the Baton Rouge area and this Hotel is the only choice for us!!

The people are the only thing that saved this hotel. As most of the other reviewers have said it has potential. But there's a lot wrong. Things That Need Improvement 1. They have these cool looking shades but they do not keep the light out at night. AT ALL. Look at my pictures and see how well I could take pictures. I took those lying in bed. That's from the light on the street. 2. The shower faucet turns the wrong direction. This shouldn't happen in a high end hotel; just in old houses. Today, there are ways things are done. 3. When I got out of the shower I was toweling off my hair and my fingers went through the towel. Check out there pictures of the towel; this wasn't a new hole, there are multiple holes in the towel. 4. Their business center is a joke. You stand up at the computer, they only have the Microsoft Browser (E) and gmail won't let you login. Ymail only gives you limited access, so I can't pull up an attachment. This was a waste of time. NOTE: I shared this with the front desk and they printed it for me. Nice people. 5. Since you have to stand at the computers in the business center (it's really a corner) the computers are not handicap accessible. 6. I can hear the water running next door. This isn't completely abnormal, but it sounded so close I checked the toilet and sink to make sure it wasn't running in my room Things That Are Good: 1, For a hotel, the rooms were roomy. 2. They are decorated well. I was impressed. I especially liked the glass sliding door to the bathroom and the shower area. 3. You can't go upstairs to the rooms without a key. This is becoming the norm and I'm summer places this has been a serious pain because their system needed work but this works perfectly here. 4. The internet is excellent. 5. The employees sees very helpful and friendly. At least there employees you see. The only reason I say this, is that the behind scenes employees let an extremely hole-y towel go up to a room. SO NOW I NEED TO CHECK OUT AND FIND SOMEWHERE TO PRINT. GRR.

I absolutely love this hotel! It has a really modern boutique feel. Got a great rate on a Sunday..less than 100 bucks. I have stayed here before and the staff is always jovial and efficient. The room was clean and had a decent view of Downtown. The elevator looks like the original one that came with the bldg which i really like. The building has a lot of old charm with modern features. They have valet parking but you can easily find street parking or use the paid parking lot less than a block away. There are a few bars and eateries within walking distance. I especially like the hug walk in shower and there is a curtain that seperates the room from the sink area. Defintiely my top pick of places to stay in the Baton Rouge area.

Very nice staff. Beautiful hotel. Nice rooms. Restaurant had good food including a great chocolate cake. Some cons. I couldn't find much to eat around the hotel. Most eateries were closed. Not sure if it was the time or day but it didn't seem there was anything open. The one that was open and the hotel recommended was packed and wouldn't allow take out when they couldn't accommodate my party. It was a popular hotel with several weddings the day we stayed. Pricey valet parking. But there is a lot close by if you don't want valet.

She is so sweet and so polite. We asked her for many food recommendations, and all of the spots that she named were phenomenal. Now, we are not from here. So, maybe our idea of what is phenomenal to us may not be the same for others. But I can guarantee you one thing, The food places that were suggested to us not only served great food, but also they served up GR8 service. Everybody's attitudes were so enthusiastic and positive. Not to mention, we are in the south, everyone was so polite. There really is such a thing still as southern comfort and southern hospitality. We received both by staying here, at this hotel. This hotel was definitely clean and comfortable, well lit, and not super modern, but definitely not at all close to being outdated. I like that the pool area is open fairly late into the day and that towels and things are removed constantly. The restroom and icemaker areas are clean and kept that way all throughout the day and evening. The breakfast varies day-to-day. For example, yesterday there were waffles and breakfast sandwiches, eggs, bacon, sausage, patties, cereal, bagels, and other bread items available in addition to four or five may be different types of milk, and two kinds of yogurt. And today, many of the same items were offered along with biscuits and gravy. Nothing about this hotel has disappointed us one bit. All of the appliances in our room are in working condition. Dish, dishwashing detergent and sponges, coffee, utensils, some basic flatware, and other dishes of various types are available. There's also a long listing of different appliances and things that are available to be borrowed from the front desk. The one that really shocked us was a rice cooker. Room rates were definitely reasonable. And even more so now that I've seen the hotel, the room that we were given, all the things. You definitely get what you pay for. I have stayed in rooms that have costed four or five even seven times more than what I paid for this one and in comparison, while this one may not seem as fancy, it definitely offered more to me and was more valuable to me because I had all the things I needed to keep my family comfortable during this trip. Oh, and did I mention? Parking here is absolutely free. The hotel is very close to the freeway on ramp as well. That makes it very nice, on and off the freeway as we please very easily. Ever you were looking for a hotel in Baton Rouge I would stay here again, without question or hesitation !
