Our Double Tree Stay! We stayed from June 26-28. It was the host hotel for our family reunion. First of all the prices were ridiculous. We had over 30 family members that stayed at the hotel no discounts given. Then too charge $20 a day for parking in an open parking lot, buffet prices ridiculous also. Then to top it off on one of the the beds, the sheets were dirty and pillowcases, I proceeded to go downstairs and I believe she was the manager she had to look on her faces in. They can't be dirty da Vinci wanted to know what could she do? She asked when was I checking out? I proceeded to tell her Sunday she proceeded to give us three buffet tickets why we were checking out, so my thing is don't stay at the Doubletree because they do not care the door sticks. You have to slam the door for it to shut tight no consideration for others. read more

I'm giving a 5 Star review not necessarily because of the hotel. But because of the GM, Rachael Hernandez and somebody at the front desk named Christine. (Kristine?). My wife, my daughter and I have stayed at this hotel over 100 times in the last 30 years. We're loyal to it, because it feels like home, the way we have always been treated. The location is perfect when we are visiting our many relatives in town. My wife actually had a difficult time checking in the last time we were there. Due to my own mistake, I did not put her down as an "additional guest". When she tried to check in after a 9 hour, 400 mile drive at 11 PM at night on her own. A new front desk person, wouldn't let her check in, unless I was present. We have never had that happen before in all the years we've stayed there. Normally when we check in, there's always somebody at the front desk who knows us. But this was a new person, and that's not her fault for being new. I will confess that the discussion became heated between this person, my wife and me. My wife felt intimidated and afraid she would have a place to stay for the night. Ultimately, she was allowed to check in and I got there several hours later. The reason I'm writing the review, however, is because when I called to explain/complain, Christine (Kristine?) and Rachael, we're extremely responsive and polite. They didn't immediately go into: "We believe only a coworker's story and not yours." mode. They didn't take sides. They listened and made this loyal customer feel heard. The de-escalated the situation like professionals. This is rare these days. My wife had felt so intimidated by her interaction with the front desk clerk, we actually ended up canceling our next three stays at the hotel. BUT talking to Christine and later Rachael changed everything. I'm impressed. We will be back. read more

Hotel is just out dated and dingy. Im more upset because I accidentally left AirPods. I tracked it to the hotel. It had to be the housekeeping because I know I left it under my pillow which is how I forgot and didn't notice when leaving. I called to see if anyone turned it in and of course it wasn't returned. They denied anything was found in the room. Never coming again. Dishonesty is a shame. read more

Nothing here really stands out. It's a solid room. Solid experience. Solid bed. The pillows are extremely soft and your head will sink in. Not a fan of it. I had to double up on it. I was on the 8th floor and had a view over the pool and part of the city. There's only 8 floors here. No microwave in your room but there's a community one on each floor near the ice machine. The bathroom comes with lotion, soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. I always find the shampoo to be not bad but the lotion is too thin. It's the lotion that's in all the Hiltons and all of the lotions suck. I was in a queen size room and on each side of the bed there was a night stand. The one on the left hand side (if you're facing the bed) had an outlet and lamp and phone, the other one had the alarm clock. My room had the old school / motel style AC unit. There was a thermostat on the wall but the AC unit was the one blasting when I came in. I had dinner my first night at the downstairs bar. I went with a handful of colleagues. The table ordered the Mongolian beef, Margherita Pizza (which came out a bit doughy for my colleague's liking), Field Green Salad with cherry vinaigrette (which my colleague said was pretty basic and that the salad she had earlier in the day which was the Caesar salad was big and delicious), Fish n Chips (which I had and I thought was too bready and not enough fish. It came with fries and those were decent but never enough. The slaw didn't have a lot of flavor), Chicken wings (which weren't as crispy as we typically like it). We washed all of that down with some beers and tequila. The conference room was standard as well as the fitness center. If there's not a ton of people in it (it feels full with about 4 people in it), you might get a decent workout in but nothing like what you'll get at your home gym. There's a pool as well on the 2nd floor all the way in the back. You need your key card to enter. As soon as I got off the freeway, it was right there so its a pretty nice location. There are a few bars, markets, and restaurants certainly in walking distance and a quick drive away. Parking was free! read more

This location is conveniently located next to several eateries, a grocery store, restaurants and coffee shops (including Starbucks right across the street and a local cafe 6 minutes walk). The area felt relatively safe when I walked to get coffee in the morning and afternoon. The staff was friendly and efficient upon check in and check out. The room itself is spacious and basic. There's lots of counter space in the bathroom and on the TV table itself. I'm happy there is a mini fridge and iron with board. A microwave would've been great. My room was clean and the A/C was strong. There's several outlets conveniently located through out the room. And of course the warm cookie and bottle water was much appreciated. So far .. it is just a regular room .. nothing fancy. It has good space, although, the shower and soaps / toiletries leave something to be desired. Some of the built-in lamp outlets don't work, but the air conditioning is cool and relaxing, as the puppy seems to like it ! The bed is a tad hard, but the bedding and general smell of the room seems fresh. The decor is fairly updated, but the reading chair is not comfortable at all. Unfortunately, there is no side table to rest a book or coffee, so the ottoman will have to do. Room lighting is a plenty and the business desk / chair will do well .. not over-complicated. The view is ok .. all things considered. However .. one aspect that I missed in my review, which was not actually discovered until late last evening, is the fact that the air conditioner, even though it keeps the room cool, seems to be extensively leaking water into the room and soaking the rug underneath the unit and out to the business desk. The carpet is of a dark colour so it was not noticed until I walked on it barefoot later last evening. Truthfully, I would stay here again, despite the issues, because, frankly, this is the first time it has happened in this hotel during one of our stays, and is not hard to overlook. If we were going to be staying longer, we would, most likely, check to see if we could get our room changed. Reparations, could take some time, I'd imagine. Cheers !! read more

Very nice and efficient hotel close to Dignity Sports Park. Helpful staff and clean, well appointed rooms. Plenty of parking available and a few dining options within walking distance including a Starbucks. Lobby bar and dining room served up an ok cheeseburger and fries and the wait staff was attentive. It's not going to "wow" you but friendly, clean and reliable, when you're on the road, is a great thing. Good place to lay your head. read more

My wife and I got invited to a few family get togethers this past weekend and we were looking for a place to stay for a few days. We chose the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Carson because of its super close proximity to the 405 freeway (Carson Avenue exit) and because they are dog friendly. I booked the room on the Hilton app and when we got to the hotel this past Saturday (around 4:30 PM), we were told that the room that I selected (standard King Room) was not ready yet. They offered to cover the cost of the pet fee ($50) which I was happy about so my wife and I picked another room and we unloaded our things. After a short time, we realized that we left a few things at home so we drove to Ralph's grocery store a mile down the road and got what we needed. So nice having a grocery store so close to the hotel! When it came time to take my dog out, there is not only plenty of grass around the property, there is also plenty of light which comes in handy at night. The security guard at the Carson Community Center across the parking lot also makes things feel safer. In the event that you are hungry and want something to eat, there is a Jack in the Box next door as well as a Subway and Starbucks across the street. You can also have DoorDash deliver food to your room (like I did one day). Thanks Doubletree for the excellent stay that we had. Got in around 11pm after a long day of traveling, just wanted to sleep. Woke up at 4am all itchy. The back of my legs, ankle, and butt are all bit up. Only thing it could be is bed bugs. I recently traveled to Southern California for work and stayed here, and it was, quite possibly the worst hotel experience I've ever had. For starters, the deposit hold was more than 10x what was quoted and shown on the approval screen. I only found out when American Express informed me two days later. Given that I was still waiting for a previous trip's expense payment to clear, this put me in a very tight position when it came to food and transportation. I was on the phone with AmEx daily, negotiating temporary credit limit increases, as it was now a holiday weekend. I talked to the front desk twice daily and kept being lied to every time they claimed to have fixed the issue. After four days of this, I finally lost my cool, and they threatened to throw me out without releasing the hold. On top of this, on about half the days, they forgot to service my room. I don't even care about having the bed made, but if I'm have to get up at 4AM to work 10-12 hours days, at least restock my coffee, especially if breakfast costs $26 (and isn't even available until 6AM). There is more, but this paints a picture of how absolutely awful this was. For my next two trips, I'm staying with another chain altogether. read more

Her name was Martha, we ordered Hennessy Margaritas, she returned and told us that they were out of Hennessy and suggested a Courvoisier Margarita, and baby let me tell you it was everything. I ordered the chicken Cesar salad and unfortunately I had to send it back because the salad was swimming in dressing. I recently selected this property to host several work colleagues and I for a few nights while working nearby (and I'm so glad I did). I worked with Olga R. to coordinate the contract and she was INCREDIBLE to work with. She was extremely responsive, detailed, and accommodating to our needs. I also worked with other members of her team who were just as lovely to work with (Queennetta P.). The hotel is located in a great location and is extremely well maintained. They have a restaurant and bar inside, as well as a small convenience store. (There is a Ralph's within walking distance if you need anything further.) I also need to shout out Kenneth at the front desk for awesome customer service. He brought my luggage upstairs when I forgot it after putting my parking pass on my car (and even brought up a warm cookie and bottle of water). He went ABOVE and BEYOND to make my check-in process so smooth. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay here again myself when I'm in the area. read more

We booked a day-long Cabana rental through ResortPass. It was $100. I think we stayed about 2 hours. Best things - there is free parking. Check-in was easy and the front desk woman was very kind. We were handed a basket with water, some snacks and some cookies. Then the bad started... there was no bar or restaurant service until 5 "because it's Sunday"... But I wouldn't have booked this if I knew that. My visions of cocktails by the pool quickly faded. That just wasn't going to happen. So... we go to the pool area. And a family is already in our cabana. Even though there was a sign saying "Reserved"... it was full of wet kids. They vacated. But every seat in our cabana was soaking wet. So we can't sit down. We did this thing where we started grabbing seats from other cabanas to somehow find a place to sit. But the "luxury cabana" was really just filled with a few chairs and a table... no chaise. And no privacy whatsoever. Also no electricity. Now I know... maybe you don't think relaxation... power strip. But I only do this thing so I can actually WORK on my laptop. That's important to me. Let the boyfriend swim while I'm working. But NONE of the outlets worked. Turns out the power was turned off. We had to call for assistance. They turned on the power. But I think the power was on for the other guests who didn't pay the money for the cabana rental but were staying in the hotel and wanted to have a *Party* in the pool area for us all to enjoy. They took over two of the cabanas next to us and brought coolers, weed and a sound system. This place is NOT restful or relaxing in any way. We only stayed at the pool for maybe two hours max. We were chased out by the music and partying. That isn't what I paid for. There is no one monitoring this situation. I actually had another guest come up and ask if she could take our towels because there weren't any towels to be found in the pool area. STILL - no ... you're not taking our towels... we need them to sop up the soaking wet seats and floor. And who comes and asks to take someone else's towels?? Also - listen... I know it's a pool area.. but this place was so poorly designed. There is NO SHADE. The pool is in direct sunlight and the cabanas also don't offer much cover. Basically a canopy with no privacy whatsoever and no coverage from the sun. This area was designed without much thought as to sunlight and there is NO escape from the scalding sun. Just poorly situated. Bad design all the way around. Skip this if you're looking for a relaxing retreat. It was really just a miserable few hours in the heat with no wifi. Overpriced hotel! Rooms go for over $200 a night! In addition to this they charge a $150 deposit for incidentals at check in! The bath tub is clogged up and takes long for water to drain off! Decently priced Hilton property that is less than 5 miles away from LAX but doesn't have the price tag of other properties in close proximity to the airport. I stayed for one night waiting for my fight out of LAX and was able to do late check-in as I wasn't able to get to the hotel until 1am. I had to wait at the glass doors entrence for about 5 minutes as I waited for the attendant to finish whatever he was doing, but the check-in process was less than 10 minutes total. There is a room deposit of $150 at this property, which isn't advertised when you book, but it is fully refunded as long as you dont damage any property. As with many other double tree properties, you get complimentary water bottles and cookies if you want them. The amenities were also a gym and indoor pool on the 2nd floor, both of whixh i didnt uae because i was only staying for a few hours. The room itself was very clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and was exactly what we needed for one night I would definitely recommend this to others staying near the carson area. read more

Fitness center is 24/7 I'm impressed with the quality and service of the on-site restaurant it always looks busy. Pretty rough place to stay. They're mid-remodel so the upper floors are done but the lower ones and lobby are not. Don't think that being an Honors member will get you an upper floor, it won't. The good: Pool and jacuzzi look very clean. Food is good. Bar staff is great. Thalia at the front desk is great. The bad: At check-in time, our room wasn't ready. We waited an hour to get in. I think that must be pretty common because I see people sitting in the lobby with their luggage all the time. Ants in our room. They sent someone up with a can or Raid. Didn't offer to switch our rooms or anything, just sprayed. OK. The AC has a weird smell when it runs, very musty. And you can't even crack the windows for fresh air. The construction noise is 9-6 so if you were wanting to get work done during those hours-think again. The ugly: The real icing on the cake though is that there was an electrical fire today around 11:30. The alarm went off, everyone evacuated. We waited outside for hours (in August) as the carbon monoxide levels came down. When we were allowed back in, they mentioned the power was out and would be back on in an hour. Here we are, almost 2.5 hours later and still no power. No AC, no hot water, no refrigeration. So, yea. Definitely switching hotels ASAP and wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Stayed in this hotel for almost a month. There's one person that stood out for me the whole time I was there, it's the front desk clerk named Kristine. She's really awesome! She made me feel very welcome every time I see her. Any simple request I make, she doesn't have second thought, but extend her helping hand especially knowing I'm coming from a 12 hour shift. Couple of hotels nearby, but if I was to stay here again, it would be because of her. Hotel itself if ok. Rooms at the 6th floor is more modernized than the 5th. It's were the honors club member stay. Pool and gym not open yet , but there's a small cafe where you can order breakfast at the lobby. Free parking and friendly staffs. Mask is still required. No one helps you just keep getting the runaround and different numbers to call and nobody has no answers. I call for three straight days talk to 5 to 6 different people than nothing if you forget a shirt in the room or a wall chargeror anything you should be able to get it back I guess not after they get there money it fuck you they have no Answer for you and they all say I will call you back at the end of the day and no one called or emailed me the shirt is just gone and nobody knows nothing Update :: a whole week of me calling everyday and leaving my number because they said they will call me back and still nobody knows nothing it been a whole week and no one that took my number with the Promise to call me right back hasn't called or texts or email me at all so I guess my little 80 dollar shirt means nothing to Doubletree/Hilton so sad it even come to this thank you so much for not even trying to hello me or give answers please don't waste your time and money they don't care after you check out read more

nothing stands out about this hotel. room is standard, spacious enough. there's a little market in the lobby with snacks, drinks, and medicine if you need. breakfast buffet is $26 for adults, nothing special about the options. they don't tell you a couple of things upon check in that they will tell you about at check-out or if it causes an inconvenience to you. they did not inform us about parking fees during check-in, only asked if we needed a parking pass. i would think they'd mention the nightly fee of $15, not a huge deal since we stayed 3 nights but would've appreciated the information. we had a dog and the fee was $50 that we also weren't informed of, but it made sense. the hotel is across from the civic center and seemingly shares a parking lot. i guess they don't and the lot across from the hotel belongs to the civic center. we parked in the lot across from the front of the hotel because the closer lot was full. the day we checked out, we noticed our car was blocked in by a line of cars lined up towards the civic center. we called the front desk and were told it's a food drive and that we shouldn't have parked in that lot "like we were told when we checked in." i can assure you that we weren't informed of that either. we were actually told TO park across if the front lot was full. the food drive volunteers were nice enough to let us get our car out. didn't appreciate the lack of information from the staff most of all but overall not a horrible stay, but debatable if we would stay again. read more

On the positive side the employees do work hard to help customers! The room seems to be clean even though it's outdated. Some simple things could be done to this hotel to bring it up to modern times. This hotel is not worth it at all. They are rude at the front desk. They were rude to my fiancé at the front counter as soon as we walked in. They treated us like ghetto trash. After we got our room. We went upstairs to find our room lights didn't work, tub was clogged and we had no towels. Called to the front desk, they were rude like it's our fault our room was crap. They have an $150 room deposit hold, which is triple price of a NICE HOTEL IN OCEANSIDE, CA. This hotel is right outside the ghetto and has the nerve to charge this much. Hold or not! On top of that I went to go complain to front desk about everything her rude (bad word self) was snobby towards me. Before I got to the counter to complain I noticed she gave the single white gentleman in front of me two water bottles and two cookies. My spouse and I received no water at all. She acted as if she barely wanted to give us the cookies at all. It is taking everything in me not to call corporate! You know what? I just might! Continue... so housekeeping never brought any towels. We had to get them ourselves. I plugged my phone in and the bathroom light stopped working all together. The heater was loud and dirty. My experience here at the Double Tree was exceptional from the booking to check in to information and the room. I was so excited to walk in the building tell you the truth. So nice, check in went smooth even though they thought I wanted two rooms other then that it was perfect, I'm sad I did not check in exactly 3p. My room was on the fifth floor and it was nice. The room was clean. The floors was flawless, I was excited about that for some reason. The bathroom was a good size nothing special but nice. The shower had a nice flow towels was thick, enough counter space for products. My bed was super comfy and I had to check make sure it was as clean as I thought. The pillows was nice and firm good for all position sleeper ( I'm not a professional). Cookiessss can't forget the cookies, I miss those. They give it too you warm so good.
