HOLY! I didn't think that my decision to stay at this inn was that bad. I had the worst night ever here. Couldn't even sleep peacefully actually. People were stomping all night long above our room, banging on doors, and had to sleep through people having violent sex/moans in the room next to us. Well, cheers to that happy couple. Also, my room was crawling with roaches. I needed a place to stay while doing business in town, and so from time to time I needed work to do. Cracked open my laptop to do some things and what do you know, a roach was crawling across my laptop. I thought, wow, how did this thing get to my laptop...next thing I realized, the place was actually infested with roaches. Truly upsetting. HORRIBLE!! -As soon as we entered there was a stench of smoke. I booked a non-smoking room. -The door hinge was broken, -graffiti on the bed frames, -neither the phone nor the clock were working, -the smoke detector was left open without batteries. Apart of the hotel room being unfit for guests, it was unsafe. I had talked with the gentleman at the lobby, he assured me a full refund. My deposit was returned right away. The place itself is bad. The blankets are soooo itchy! I complained and they gave me a sheet to put over the bed to sleep on.. I got little bumps right after on my arms and legs and the back of my neck afterwards. I kept scratching myself three days AFTER checking out.. I'm pretty sure I got scabies or something There was also stains all over the floors and they were very skimpy on how much towels they give you. I had a total of 4 towels and no more. Asked for more and it wasn't available. Also- safety. I chose this place because in the pictures it looked safe because the rooms were over a garage and I could choose to be on a higher floor... but the entire time I felt uncomfortable and unsafe. guy was rude at the front desk tells me rooms is $190 plus tax but then later matched it to Priceline. eneded up being $175 for room with jacuzzi tub filled it up while taking shower and we came out and it smelled like feces and I'm not sure if this review will let me post pictures but there was like brown shit all over and around the tub idk if it was actually feces but we were so disgusted with it we wanted our money back but instead they gave a new room with a jacuzzi tub that just didn't work all thought that room. The room we stayed in was questionable. There was mold on the bottom walls, no trash bin, a messed up couch, and the bathroom was interesting. I spent a lot of time, figuring out how to turn on the shower head. If you are reading this, the one in room 210, you need to turn on the water and pull the noodle on the pipe for it to turn on. That was my first experience with something like that. If it isn't your first time, you got no problem. I also noticed a prescription label of a previous client, was left on the scratched up door. I threw this away off the door. It was used to cover up the peep hole. That's strange. read more

Hmmm, location was out of the way. But, I enjoyed the Queen room with spa for $140 for one night. My friend said that was too steep and I agreed. I'd give zero stars if I could. I know this place is cheap, but sleeping in my car is even cheaper which I ended up doing after laying on the bed. I ignored all the cosmetic flaws because of the price, but as soon as I touched the bed, I felt itchy all over. I was just laying on top of the comforter, so I thought maybe that was the problem, nope the top of the blanket is even itchy. Not sure if it was bugs or cigarette burn stains. Oh yah, I forgot to mention the room smells like a casino. Back to the bed, I got curious and started unwrapping the bed. I found dark brownish stains. Not sure if its dookie stains or maybe blood stains. I stopped unzipping there. I get there might be mattress stains from multiple uses but I'm sure you could buy new sheets... On to the next... the kitchen. Just kidding there isnt one. Okay the bathroom is cool I guess. Toilet is clean which is cool but im not touching it... not after the bed. The bathroom base boards and the back of the bathroom door were competing on which could be dirtier. The back of the door seemed to have a bloody booger stuck to it or something. I have stayed here a handful of times. Each time it seems that the condition of the room gets worse while the price goes up. After this most recent visit, I will most likely not stay here anymore. The room smelled like pot the entire time I was there. It wasn't the room itself, but it was coming from nearby rooms. Maybe that's a plus for some, but not for me. There was a couple arguing very loud at around 6:00 am. I didn't hear anyone get hit - but I thought it was going there. The bed was hard, the walls were dirty, the hairdryer was broken, the bathroom door looked as if it had been kicked a few times and the smoke detector was missing. Gardena Terrace Inn is a great hotel! My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 weeks and the lovely couple that own it are very accommodating. They let us store our things there when we went away for the weekends and even brought us hangers and ceramic bowls/plates because they knew we might need them! Gardena Terrace Inn is a great value! You can't beat the price or service. The rooms are equipped with a fridge, microwave, and heater/AC. They're very clean and have a nice view of the "terrace." There is always plenty of free parking which is an added bonus. And fast, free WIFI! Finally, it's located near good food and is right off of major highways. I would definitely come back and stay here when I'm in the LA area, especially since the owners provide such great customer service! read more

How does this place get such a high rating?? We stayed in a basic king room for $160. Owners are really nice, but this hotel is so run down. Even if I wanted to overlook the frayed carpet, scary access door above the shower, or the nightstand that needs its top secured, I can't overlook a DIRTY TOWEL. I mean, really? A towel with yellow stains all over it? Yuck. Mildew on the shower curtain, huge amount of dust on the A/C unit. This place just isn't getting cleaned, anywhere. Add to that, the bed was like sleeping on a board, it was so hard. And they don't provide ice buckets??? I've never even heard of a hotel that doesn't have an ice bucket for their ice machine. Had a good stay here while on our way to a conference. This motel was just renovated in February 2013. Our rooms were pleasantly appointed with minimal ick factor. The neighborhood seemed safe and it was close enough to the freeway to get to where we wanted to. The breakfast was a little disappointing. There was coffee, juice, cereal and milk and some danishes. They had miso soup and cold rice for us Asians, but while we were there the hot water for the miso soup was on the blitz so you couldn't make it. Beware misleading listing. Half of the ammenities didn't work (shower head, ac, lights etc.). Bed was uncomfortable, room had a horrible smell and plenty of stains around the room. The walls are paper thin and everything can be heard. The bed sheets had holes on them. The smoke detector was missing. The service attendants are kinda rude and were yelling at me because I had a friend with me who wasn't even staying at the motel we were just meeting up to go to an event. So fair warning that they are strict on headcount for the room. Overall the experience is what you pay for, an affordable stay but has it's downsides. read more

The only reason this did not get 5 stars was due to the not so great but not too terrible location. PROS: Definitely the nicest motel I've stayed in. Free covered parking, free in-room wifi, free refreshments in the morning. The rooms were recently renovated with a modern yet comfortable design. The rooms have large comfortable beds, a great working air-conditioner, large mini-fridge, microwave, flat screen TV, large closet, small dining table with chairs and basic bathroom toiletries. I said that I saw online for $80 she rudely told me I had to book online if I wanted that price. We scheduled for a 3 night stay here and I got to say, I do not like leaving negative reviews but this place pushed it. We asked for extra towels and pillows after the first night we stayed here and called the front in the morning, the man said " there should be enough towels and pillows for your room" I said " but they are dirty already" he proceeded to tell me "who is staying in your room?" This was the worst place I've ever stayed. We checked into our hotel at 3 and our room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Stains on everything; walls, pillows, curtains. We had to switch rooms because our toilet was broken, the wall outlets did not work, the refrigerator did not work and the place was absolutely dirty. We checked into our second room and it smelled like complete smoke. The filth was completely shocking and the rooms were not cleaned at all. I feared that the beds had bed bugs.
