This hotel is conveniently located right by the interstate with lots of restaurants close. Freddy's next door has tasty ice cream! The hotel itself is very dated, but it was clean. The beds were super comfortable. The pool was pristine and beautiful. We watched him take care of it daily. The parking sucked. There really isn't enough, and the customers this hotel seemed to draw were workers and lots pulled trailers, so they would easily take up 3 or 4 parking spaces for their one vehicle and trailer. We had to constantly drive around several times to find something that wasn't so far away you would be afraid to leave your vehicle. This is definitely one of the best Quality Inns you will find around for a continental breakfast. There used to be a restaurant attached to the hotel, now they just use it for their breakfast. Eggs, sausage, gravy, pancakes, etc., were hot and fresh every day we went down. Plenty of cereal and fruit to choose from. Could not complain at all! The staff was very attentive and kept the tables cleaned as people would get up to leave. I particularly loved being able to eat on an actual plate with a real fork. EVERYTHING!!! The staff (including the manager) treated me like an ignorant vagrant when I tried to check in a little early. Apparently, this is the only hotel in the world that gets all their rooms ready at EXACTLY the same time. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! We have 4 rooms reserved but I only need 1 early. I asked for 1st available, any type, but was told that there is NO WAY that one will be ready before the others. So now I sit on a hard wooden old church pew and wait for what will probably be an extended time now that they are pissy! Front desk staff were not very helpful, no direction to our room, asked for a map of the grounds and was told they were out of maps. Staff finally found a photocopy that had been copied many times and the room numbers were hard to read. No help in locating our room on the map(had to find it myself). Softness of tissue and towels. AVERAGE 8. Friendliness of staff. PLEASANT 9. Noise. Road noise, adjacent room noise, air conditioner noise. QUIET 10. Price. I stay at choice hotels at least 4 times a week, every week. So I have a lot to compare this place to. The desk staff is unfriendly and lazy. When you ask them a question, you feel like you are really inconveniencing them. The WiFi went down which is extremely important to me. I was told to call tech support my self. Tech support told me that the hotel needed to do a hard restart and would call me. They did not call me and were unapologetic that it was not fixed. The rooms have old worn furnishings. TV's are old style. Beds are not very comfortable. The walls are thin and I was woken several times. This place is not worth $100 a night. They would not do a AAA discount. Checking in was easy and quick. The front desk people were nice. We got to our room and the air wasnt on, so it was pretty warm. The sink was outside the bathroom and inside the bedroom part. Which was right beside one of the beds. We did find a bug on one of the beds, there was a roach in my coffee from the night before, there was also a dead roach on the dresser under the tv. Which was disgusting! The pool was nice and outside. Not many people out there. There were tables and chairs around the pool. We went to breakfast which came with staying at the hotel. It was packed and the one cook couldnt keep up with the food. There was NO hot food the whole 30 minutes we waited. They did have oranges and apples, and three cereals. The orange juice, apple juice, and water were all out and needed refills. They did refill everything but the water. But only when we asked. I'll get the one negative thing out of the way first, it's an old and not-super-sound building, so the walls are kinda thin and floors kinda rickety. One night I heard ladies just having a normal conversation through the wall from the next room, and kids running out in the hall will rattle your bed and furniture on the upper floors. I'm still giving it a good score tho 'cause it's otherwise a gem for more budget-end places. One of the best breakfasts I've had at a hotel period, not just in this price range, with a nice spread of hot stuff every morning. Rooms are a good size and have plenty of outlets despite the building age. Great WiFi. Staff I talked to were professional and on the ball. Coffee is out 24 hours in the lobby, or at least seems to be put out early (before breakfast) for us early risers that like it right away. Just a couple other minor things that could use work. Technically there's a fitness room, but it's a tiny thing with one stair-stepper machine and dumbbells. Dumbbells are fine for me but the bench seemed dangerously loose, too unsafe for some exercises. The TV guide menu also doesn't line up with the actual channel numbers, but it turns out it's just -5 whatever's displayed. I dunno about a longer stay with the noise issues but great for a night or two where you just plan to crash out. read more

Old and run down building. Our room smelt musky. The tile and grout in shower were cracked. Same with the tile & grout on the floor. Walls were dirty. The full dumpster in the parking lot didn't help with the terrible smell either. Free breakfast consisted of coffee, one type of cereal and yogurt. You know the old saying, you get what you pay for? The preceding 4 nights of poor to no sleep due to horribly soft, uncomfortable beds at other properties, led to an almost desperate call on our part to this property to check on the firmness of their mattresses. Elisia, the front desk employee, was very pleasant and helpful. She went the extra mile to confirm whether their mattresses were not memory foam and that they were firm. Indeed, the mattress was perfect and we slept soundly. The shower was excellent - good water pressure and consistent temperature. Internet speed & network range were very good. Physical plant upkeep and cleanliness were excellent. And last but not least, the included breakfast was a hot buffet - the scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage links were cooked perfectly and tasted like home cooking. (The hash browns were not perfect as I would have fried them a little longer). Like the front desk employees, the buffet attendant was pleasant and helpful. Overall a wonderful stay! The staff was alright but weren't super welcoming & the lady who checked us in didn't give us the WIFI password... wtf! This is our third time staying at this Quality Inn in Grand Junction. They had no problem matching the rate listed in the choice hotels App(Their App) and giving us a good rate for the next night too. We paid about $75 for one night and $67 for the other. The room was spacious. We stayed in room 331 with one king bed. The room also had a fridge and microwave and the TV worked fine. We had a view of the golf course. One of my favorite things about this quality inn is the breakfast. They have a hot breakfast and the eggs are real eggs! They also had sausage and really good sausage gravy. They have waffles, and other types of breakfast food too. Very nice seating choices. Real coffee mugs and metal utensils instead of the usual disposable stuff in a lot of hotels. We stayed here in the middle of moving from one state to another and the clerk got us the best rate she could, and made sure our room was near an exit so taking care of our pets needs was easy. Was terribly disappointed with the front desk once I realized I had made a mistake with my Priceline reservation. She seemed irritated at the fact that I booked a reservation online and not through her front desk. Priceline called to ask if they could cancel and rebook me and she refused to help. Don't waste your money. We found a BED BUG in our room. We checked in on the March 23rd after a long drive from Las Vegas, NV. We chose this location because it seemed to be a clean establishment.The bug could've came from a tenant that's at the property but regardless I was instantly freaked out. My first thought was ok I'll discreetly let management know. The guest customer service agent told us it wasn't a bed bug then went on to say it was nothing she could do. I asked for the managers (who name was Rick) contact information so I could tell him about the incident. I called today to speak with him. I emailed the pictures that we took as well. Rick didn't even acknowledge their fault in the situation and told me it wasn't what I saw. I can't believe that in so many words he called me a liar. My stay at this Quality Inn was mixed. This is a decent hotel at a good price. The décor was nice and the room was comfortable. Unfortunately my stay was marred by an issue with odors. I initially was placed in a room that had clearly been used by a smoker despite the non-smoking policy of the hotel. The front desk staff were accommodating and moved me to a different room. Unfortunately the second room had a distinct odor of aerosol disinfectant. Given the late hour, I stayed in the room. After four hours, my lungs and throat burned. I eventually checked out early to get some fresh air. If you have sinus trouble, this hotel may not be a good choice. I've amended my review and downgraded it one star. The breakfast is terrible! Cold, rubbery eggs, cold pancakes and French toast, and woody coffee. They do have a nice selection of fresh fruit. Update: I contacted Quality Inn customer service and they comped me 6000 points which is enough for a free nights stay. I'm pleased that they handled my issue well. read more

I thought that QI in Grand Junction was clean and comfortable at a very fair price. The front desk was very polite and helpful. Nice stay from my perspective. But here is an major issue that I ran into when calling the 800 choice reservation line. I assume that this is with all Choice reservations now. The reservation went fine, but I was asked if I would listen to a 'new choice program' after completing my reservation. It took a few minutes to determine that this had nothing to do with Choice Hotels, but was a full sales promo for Bluegreen timeshares and vacations. I had been on the road for nine hours with three more to go before stopping for the day. But I was stuck on the phone listening to a vacation promo with the agent wanting me to give him a CC number at that time. This is not what I needed nor wanted from Choice. We've been staying at this Quality Inn 12 or 13 years now, driving to and from our family vacation home on Keystone, CO. It is always just an overnight stay and it gets four stars (Yay, I'm a fan) because I am. We wouldn't stay here several times a year if we weren't fans. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff has always been very gracious and accommodating. I am an early riser and appreciate the coffee in the lobby and free newspaper. I can sneak down to the lobby, read the paper, drink coffee and wait for the rest of the family to join me at the included breakfast. The pool is nice in the summer and as an added bonus, there is a self-serve car wash in the parking lot next door that is handy as we come out of the mountains in CO and my car is filthy. We've tried another place or two, but keep winding up here. It is right off I-70, close to the airport, but still convenient for downtown. read more

Got a good deal on Priceline.com. So the price matched the room. Room was really big and clean. I appreciated that they had Queen size beds and that they were comfy. Down fall. The floor in one spot felt like there was broken wood below us. It felt like we were going to go through it and land in the room below. Staff was very friendly and accommodating we needed two beds and priceline reserved us for on bed. Needless to say they changed our room to one with two beds. Overall very satisfied.
