Customer service matters! I have been going here since I was a child like most of the AV. Since moving back, I've spent a lot of money here and their prices have definitely increased. I ordered the hot wing dinner, as I have done before, thru the drive thru. Checked my bag everything was inside. Got home opened the container and saw a fucking mess. Half cooked chicken wings with hella sauce on top of fries so of course my fries were soggy and they didn't add my onion rings. A female gets on the phone and says she asked the cook and she said she put the onion rings inside because they are made to order. I said you're saying I'm lying and she was like no but she said she put them in the box. So then why would I be calling you? To get three onion rings for free? I ordered the chicken strips with fries meal for 9.99 and the chicken stripes came burned and very small. More like chicken nuggets. I took a bite and I can't even get my teeth though the chicken strip without great effort, they are dry and hard. I'm very disappointed in the quality of the food having paid over 10 dollars for it. Anything else would have been better then this. I also ordered an unsweetened ice tea and they gave me raspberry at first but then corrected it and reused the raspberry tea cup so my unsweetened tea tasted like watered down raspberry tea. I ended up throwing it away. They also through my side of fries in the bag upside down and it was spilled all at the bottom of the bag, just very poor etiquette and customer service. Definitely NOT like it used to be many years ago. This place was our family once a week lunch/dinner, it really didn't matter what time of the day to get the BEST order of Zucchini ever! I moved to San Francisco and craved and raved about Doublz I moved back to LA and had to take my out of town guest last weekend here for their Amazing zucchini. Unfortunately to my disappointment we had ordered a Double order and when we got home I opened the container and what was inside was half the size of the single order... Greed at its best. I got two combo meals when the food was ready and got called to the counter to pick it up. I asked for 2 ranch containers, given that was 2 combos. I was told. It is 1 container per order. (I would love to see a family of 5 all sharing the one container.) I told the employee: I just paid for 2 meals and you are trying to charge extra for a second ranch. Food is usually good, but last time I went they messed up the toppings on my burger. No problem, mistakes happen right? I asked to get it fixed and they said okay, but I noticed them scraping off the toppings I couldn't eat. Not cool. I told them to make a new one because I couldn't eat the old one at all. Worst experience I've ever had. I order chili cheese fries and small fries and they couldn't even get the order correctly. I like within minutes and called them back to tell them about my order... I've been going to this place for years and the food is always great. Unfortunately last night will probably be my last time visiting this place. One of the cooks sang a homophobic song in Spanish after seeing me and my partner order, and the rest of the staff just laughed. He probably didn't expect myself to understand, and normally while this stuff doesn't bother me in the streets it does when it's someone at their job representing an establishment. Quick fast friendly service. My go to is the Chili Cheese Pastrami Fries. #THEBOMBAYYYY I get the large for $10.00 and it covers me and my two kids 3yr and 5.
