Avoid this place. The place is impersonal and irresponsible. We will not be returning as our pet is no longer with us.

Waggin Tails Dog Boarding

I wanted a boarding that was close to home and welcoming to me and my dogs. Gracie is our 5 year old Catahoula and Dallas is our 5 year old Texas Healer. Both dogs and I were able to see and meet the owner and property. My dog was very happy when I picked her up from Brady. Gracie would run to the jeep jump in then run back to Brady. I am very pleased with the attention Gracie received while in Wagging Tails Boarding.

Came across the Waggin' Tails website and seemed like a great place to board our sweet girl. The address is a house set back in the country with a large Waggin Tails dog boarding sign in the front and painted paw prints down the long driveway to the house.on approaching the house and kennel you can hear the dogs barking. Ron, the owner, comes out shirtless to greet us from the kennel. It was hot out so I wasn't as bothered by the lack of shirt as I was his slurred speech which i thought was a little early for as it was 1pm when we dropped her off and not even St Patrick's day. We brought our pup in the kennel and was told to pick one of two kennels, the others were dirty and Ron stated he didn't feel like cleaning them. He never asked for our dogs shot record and did not write down any feeding instructions. When trying to leave he opened the car door without asking to look in the car and talk to our daughter which seemed like an invasion. I let that go but as I sat in the car to leave he continued to invade my personal space with his shirtless belly in my face talking at me in the drivers side door as we were trying to leave. We were all very uncomfortable and felt awful leaving our dog there but didn't have any other choices. My husband went to get the dog the next morning at the agreed upon time and there wasn't anyone in the kennel but it was open. My husband knocked on the door, rang the doorbell but there was no answer. We needed to leave as we had along drive ahead so my husband took the dog and her belongings and left the fee for boarding on the clipboard on her kennel. We had our choice of many other animals as well but decided to only take ours. It is a shame that this place is so poorly run as I can see the need for families to board their dogs as they enjoy the parks in Sandusky. I hope you take heed to this review so you don't have to kidnap your own dog as we did.
