Trust me when I tell you--look elsewhere…read more Over the past year, we've had a lot of work done on our home, including a new fence, replacement windows, a new solar system, and a new storm door. Every contractor we hired did outstanding work--except Mr. Handyman of Cherry Hill. We purchased a top-of-the-line Larson storm door and hired Mr. Handyman to install it, along with repairing a few sections of our gutters and soffit. Hiring this company turned out to be a huge mistake. The installer completed the work on April 30. During the first major storm on June 19, the entire storm door blew completely off the house and landed in our driveway. I gathered all the pieces and moved the door onto the porch. I contacted Mr. Handyman immediately. For nearly a month, I received nothing but delays while they claimed they were communicating with Larson. From the very beginning, I told them I believed the door had not been installed correctly. A properly installed storm door should not completely detach during a storm. During that waiting period, I contacted Larson myself to better understand what could have happened. I was told that a properly installed door should not simply blow off. They also explained that the installation should have used five mounting screws--three 3-inch gold screws and two 2-inch red screws. Those screws were nowhere to be found. Instead, I found what appeared to be shorter silver screws, some of which were broken off in the mounting holes. The brick molding around the doorway was still intact. After weeks of waiting, I finally received an email stating that Larson allegedly determined the door had been installed correctly based on a few photos I had submitted. I completely disagree with that conclusion based on what I found after the door came off. My experience with this company has been extremely disappointing. Based on what happened to me, I cannot recommend them for this type of work. As I explained to Courtney S. and Meredith R., I had hoped we could resolve this without legal action. Since the company maintains that the installation was done correctly, I will pursue the matter through the courts and let the evidence speak for itself. If anyone else has had a similar experience with this company, you're welcome to contact me. Happy 250th, everyone--and be careful when choosing a contractor. Regards, Mark Romano Mark@RomanoIT.com

I feel…read morefortunate to have received excellent work, craftsmanship and professionalism at a very competitive price. So the very least I can do is share the news of this great service. I called Ronnie on a Thursday and he started (and completed) work the following Monday. The project was tearing down and building a new stair rail on my third floor. Things he did well: 1. Communicated efficiently with texts and emails and a thorough discussion over the phone. 2. Gave me options and ideas I hadn't considered without trying to influence my ultimate decision. 3. Promptly provided a detailed estimate. 4. Confirmed appointment the night before. 5. Arrived on time with materials. He actually went out of his way to give me a last minute suggestion to change the style of the materials after I had already made my decision and he purchased the materials. We decided a different style of spindle would look nicer. Therefore he had to make an extra trip to Home Depot and it made his day run extra long. 6. He took extra pains to not dirty the house. (A floor covering at the door and he had plastic shoe coverings so he would track mud through the house). 7. He also cleaned carefully before leaving and removed all debris. The house was likely cleaner when he left than when he arrived. 8. The work and craftsmanship is beyond what I was expecting. The cuts and routering and trim work were very professional and neat. He had some particular challenges to work with since my house is old and lopsided to begin with. He made adjustments so the finished product looked even and uniform even if the walls and the floors that he was working with are not. We have several larger house projects to complete (a aster bathroom & backyard deck) and Ronnie has already discussed options and is preparing an estimate now. I'm glad to have finally found someone who is responsive, professional and within our budget. I was very hesitant since there were no online reviews on yelp (but I could look to google, Facebook and his website to get an idea). I certainly feel like we took a chance and won!

Turns out it needed better screws in the hinges. This didn't result in a discount. I didn't fight it because he spent about 12 hours 'fixing the dry wall'. Promised that it would be paint ready, which to me means excess dry wall cleaned up textured, and seams smoothed. Several spots were missed the first day, but addressed by revisiting the provided the second day. At the end of the second day when he finished the same cracks were still visible with just a massive amount of dry wall going away from the cracks. Along with that things were patched that were on the list with so much mess I had to remove the spackle and do the spot again. He also didn't texture anything during cleanup so things are not paint ready. On top of the amount of mess left behind, I spent hours this weekend cleaning up dust and starting to correct the work. I was hoping this would save me hours of work cleaning and sanding drywall myself. This is not the case between needing the work redone and the cleaning. I wouldn't recommend them for dry wall work.

Stop right here. Look nowhere else. I have done the legwork for you!…read more In 2018 we had Steve and at least 5 other contractors come out to give us a quote on our kitchen remodel. After meeting Steve, there was an authenticity about him that none of the other contractors possessed. Every question that we asked him, he was up front, honest and listened intently to our wants and needs. After receiving many quotes, unfortunately then, we knew we had to save up before we could afford to have our kitchen done. Fast forward to the end of 2019 and we were ready to take the plunge! We knew that Steve was our guy. We gave him a call, he came back out several times to take measurements, design, etc. We had a start date of March 2020. Surprise... COVID! Everything was in limbo and we decided it was best to wait. Finally come August 3rd, 2020 Steve and his helper started demo work. Our final completion date was mid October. During construction time, I had two other friends getting their kitchens done as well. The horror stories they told me of their contractors being late, not being honest, charging more than what the contract stated, etc. had my husband and I feel like we hit the jackpot finding Steve. Many contractors now a days sub everything out and don't lift a finger. Not this guy! He is there every day, doing the work, and is passionate about his craft. He is meticulous and will not cut corners, leaving you a project that you are proud of. Steve is arguably the hardest working human my husband and I have ever met. When you hire Steve, you don't just get a contractor, you get a friend...that turns into family. My husband, my two children and I fell in love with Steve. He brought us joy daily during the two months he was with us and has become part of our extended family. We miss seeing him frequently, but now get to enjoy the work he did on our home daily. All of our friends and family that have walked into our home think we hired a high end contractor and designer for our project. We hired an expert handyman - the name says it all. Expert work at a fair price. Future customers, you can thank me later. ;)
