Stretch Construction completely redid our kitchen--helping us turn a 1960s nightmare into a gorgeous homeowner's dream. It was not a small job! We had the original, outdated cabinets, appliances, flooring, and windows to deal with. Justin did an incredible job with the demo first (getting everything out with no damage to the house; cleaning up along the way; getting the dumpster delivered and then removed.) Every time I came home, I was delighted to see that the space was swept and safe for my daughter and our dog to walk through. After the demo, Justin quickly moved into flooring, plumbing, and cabinet installation. Every single construction job requires pivots. The key is how your contractor handles unforeseen changes WHEN they come up (because they do.) When our cabinets were delivered with 6" of additional width (our outside cabinet partner's fault!) Justin quickly helped pivot and reflow the layout to fit the space. What would have set us back three weeks was reconfigured and fixed within three hours. The final product is absolutely GORGEOUS. Everyone who visits asks who did the work. It is a joy to recommend someone as detail-oriented, kind, and talented as Justin. We couldn't recommend Justin enough (and neither could the person who recommended him to us). Punctual, easygoing, upbeat, offers balanced advice, follows through on suggestions and requests, and above all does an excellent job. He redid our kitchen - floor tiles, new cabinetry, backsplash. For the floor he took out the (huge) fridge, oven, dishwasher and the cabinets to tile properly to the wall underneath them. We got our countertops from Ikea and he was flexible fitting in around their schedule. And for the backsplash he did a really great job: Everything aligned correctly even though we picked mini subway tiles which were really awkward to cut (see photos). He also went to the warehouse without complaint when it turned out I hadn't bought enough tiles. Oops. Really nice guy, will definitely ask him again if the need arises. read more

I have used Justin numerous times over the last 5 years to fix small jobs like a leaky tub that damaged the dry wall ceiling on my first floor to building out the master closet in my house. Justin is relaible, reasonably priced, honest and exceptionally clean. I did not hesitate to leave him in my house to do the repairs while I was at work. He is my first call for an all around handyman for anything that I need to have done at my house. Don't listen to the first post - Justin was a referral from a friend and has been a blessing to have as a resource. read more

Justin did good work for us. He was responsive, despite his busyness, and was able to schedule our project within a month or two of my initial call. I can't really blame him for being busy, but that would be my only complaint. He installed a new faucet on our sink, a new showerhead, and a hose bib out front. The big project was tiling around our bathtub. He communicated well and delivered on time. Estimate was the same as final price, and he finished a day early. When things weren't perfect, he came back to fix them, free of charge. read more

Justin, of Stretch Construction, is an absolute perfectionist who takes pride in EVERYTHING he does. We have had him do various work at our main line home including roofing, painting, plumbing, repairing a garage door, electric, hanging a storm door. Justin is a straight-shooter, he says it like it is; if he thinks you can save money doing 'x', he will tell you, if he thinks cutting a corner will cost you in the longrun, he will tell you immediately. Mr. Stretch was contracted through two social service agencies to replace my laundry room entry and storm doors because I have little money and am disabled. The work was done in two parts, and Mr. Stretch cancelled once. There were three small things that needed fixing. When I asked for the first -- to tighten one of the locksets on the security door -- he readily agreed, then called the morning he was supposed to come and cancelled. I contacted him several times without success. Then I realized the security door sweep needed adjustment -- dirt was collecting between the doors when it rained -- and the motion-controlled light fixture needed resetting. In frustration, I set a two month deadline for this 15-minute job and he wrote back that he would come "sooner rather than later, if I behaved myself." (Full correspondence available on request.) After a month of my "behaving myself" passed, I sent him another note. He then angrily wrote back that he was going to contact the social service agencies, my doctors (???!!!!), and file criminal harassment charges against me. All of my correspondence, by text, e-mail, and phone, was solely about making adjustments. It was not frequent and certainly not harassing. Mr. Stretch should be avoided at all times. He is the one who is petulant and misbehaves. read more

Mr Stretch is an amazingly talented contractor. I just can't say enough of how fantastic he is. We will be using his service for every repair job we need from now on. We used his services when I became wheelchair bound after unexpected complications during my twin boys' birth. Unfortunately, my home was not wheelchair accessible and we needed to widen the bathroom door so I could get in and out of the bathroom without having to have someone carry me. Mr. Stretch came out the day we first contacted him and widened the door in just a few hours. I can't tell you how much of a relief it was to have it done all in one day especially with the boys in the NICU and everything going on around us. He was truly courteous and prompt. I recommend him to all of my friends and he has done their kitchens, their bathrooms, and helped them install outdoor lighting. He truly is a fantastic contractor. read more
