Ralph did a couple of jobs for me today, and I'm pleased with the outcome and the price was fair. He was very responsive at every step, worked hard all day, and adapted the plan as needed. The new light fixtures I asked to have installed were sticking out of the wall because the prior fixture box was not in all the way, and cement had been put around the box to cover it up. Instead of completing the installation of the new fixtures on the old poorly done box and having them stick out, we discussed it, and he suggested that he could chip out the cement, which was not a simple task, and replace the boxes with "half boxes" that I would need to purchase. In the end, he was able to put the original boxes back in properly and install the new lanterns flush with the wall. Looks really good! read more

I negotiated a price for a bunch of dry wall repairs and reframing my front door. Because it was in theory rotten and needed to be reframed. Turns out it needed better screws in the hinges. This didn't result in a discount. I didn't fight it because he spent about 12 hours 'fixing the dry wall'. Promised that it would be paint ready, which to me means excess dry wall cleaned up textured, and seams smoothed. Several spots were missed the first day, but addressed by revisiting the provided the second day. At the end of the second day when he finished the same cracks were still visible with just a massive amount of dry wall going away from the cracks. Along with that things were patched that were on the list with so much mess I had to remove the spackle and do the spot again. He also didn't texture anything during cleanup so things are not paint ready. On top of the amount of mess left behind, I spent hours this weekend cleaning up dust and starting to correct the work. I was hoping this would save me hours of work cleaning and sanding drywall myself. This is not the case between needing the work redone and the cleaning. I wouldn't recommend them for dry wall work. read more

Ralph and his crew just completed some difficult work for me. I'm in a Center City townhome with steel studs and a concrete ceiling but they were able to work with it to remove half of a wall to open up the kitchen to the dining room. They hung a barn door in my bedroom, made and hung a gate to my patio, hung multiple light fixtures and ceiling fans and repaired an exterior door frame that was rotting. The also did simple things like hanging curtain rods and towel racks. It is nice to have someone who can get it all done. They took their time and made sure that I was happy with the work. Ordered a new fridge from Lowe's. No water shut off valve behind the fridge so Lowe's couldn't install it. Ralph hooked up the water via the water shut off valve that he found in the basement.
