I just called to set up a termite inspection. WHY are they advertising as termite control when they DON'T offer it!!!???? Bait and switch??

I saw tiny black ants in a rental property we have in Dunedin and called Doug the Bug. I was met on the phone with a gentleman who gave me some very valuable information on critters and was able to squeeze us in later that afternoon. Our technician was Kyle who proceeded to investigate the area of concern and then treat that area as well as all other room perimeters. Unfortunately it was a soggy day so outside had to be postponed for a couple days. Kyle was VERY INFORMATIVE on all types of Florida critters & bugs and gave us great information!!!!! We had Terminix for about a year but it didn't seem to help at all. We finally decided to do it ourselves and found this place and so far we're very happy. We did our first treatment a week ago (instructions were super easy to follow) and we're definitely seeing a difference already! Just wanted to write a quick review about my experience with Doug the Bug. We had a bug problem at our house and I went to the internet to find someone other than one of the big companies. I usually look for someone with their name on the truck as it seems that they always give better service b/c it's their name on the side. This proved more than true with Doug. He was VERY knowledgeable about his trade and provided us with a sense of comfort that he would be able to take care of the problem.....AND HE DID! I had possibly a flea situation in my apartment. Which was weird because I have no pets and I clean like a maniac. So I wasn't 100% sure if it was fleas. So I found one and put it in a baggy and brought it to Doug the Bug. They have a magnifier that blows it up hundreds or thousands of times and they show you so you can see what this bug looks like. They also have one of every Florida bug so you can see what they look like and inspect your own home. They instruct you on every part of everything. So when I went back home with my amazing flea spray I knew exactly what to do to handle each part of the life cycle of fleas. And that was that. They educate you so you are in control of the subject. And that's so much more valuable than just coming out and getting rid of fleas. Yes, it's more time consuming to do it yourself. But I like learning a new subject and feeling smarter and having more understanding. To me that's way better. read more

I have been using Doug the Bug Pest Control for 11 years now. I have used him in my own home and in all three of my rental homes. He has done everything from subterranean termite control to rats to German cockroaches to plain old nasty Floridian cockroaches and I've even used his "do it yourself" products. I've been having a slight issue with my apartment and can't seem to rid these flying gnats. I called and spoke with Bob, he was very nice and took his time explaining a way that I could potentially eradicate them myself. I am so happy that I finally called Doug the Bug to rid my kitchen of disgusting Palmetto bugs that had resisted my over the counter attempts of removal. I was worried it would be too expensive to call an exterminator, that they would have to get into all the nooks and crannies of my kitchen to find them, etc. Boy, was I wrong. Doug sent his tech, Kyle, over earlier this week. Kyle was very nice, answered all my questions and sprayed a much more potent form of the chemical I had bought at Lowe's. I have to say, less than a week later, I am bug free! Doug charged a fair price and Kyle arrived promptly, as promised. Kyle told me that Doug will sell me the same strength chemical so that I can do maintenance myself. Very happy. read more
