Disappointing today. Pesto Grilled Veg pasta had Zero, zero taste to it. Rose Chicken Pasta had zero taste as well, tiny pieces of Chicken and not much of it. I went here for dinner with a few friends and we decided to order ahead! We got the Twisted Club, the Electric Avenue, and two four topping custom pizzas! Unfortunately, our order came out late since I believe they forgot to punch it in in their system. They also forgot to put spinach on the pizza pictured in the back, but gave us a side container of it after I asked. They DID give us a 10% off our next order coupon to make up for it though! I don't believe that this is a common occurrence here though, since my friends have gotten food from here a couple times before! ANYWAY, despite all this the pizzas were so delicious, my favourite was 100% the Twisted Club! I am ITALIANA came here to try the wood fired pizza for the first time. From Napoli the Margherita is my favorite. So I ordered the special 2 pizza,pasta and salad. 1st pizza Margherita a thick layer of a ketchup like substance with 2 pcs of shredded basil I presume..and 4 white spots of a white substance presumably fior di latte. 2nd pizza meat lovers, another disappointment. ingredients frozen meatballs, and the sauce was sub par like you get at the grocery store jar quality. Pasta linguini authentic Italian was again covered in red sauce (ketchup) substance and frozen meatballs. The salad was bagged lettuce and had brown lettuce throughout. This was a very disappointing experience. 1st time and Last time. Never again. Cheap quality and cheap prices. You get what you pay for. But I will cook at home from now on..come to my place and I will show you how italian good is supposed to look and taste. This relatively new spot in Hamilton is great! Don't know where to grab food after visiting friends, your university student children, or you just happen to be in the area? This is it. It isn't just pizza and pasta because it's made to your liking, and the possibilities are endless! One of the classic examples of you could make this at home, but do you have all the ingredients to do so? My sister brought me here telling me it's similar to other fast-fired pizza places that've cropped up in various cities. I thought sure - pizza is always good, she's got a discount coupon, and it'll be quick service so we can eat fast and be on our drive back to downtown Toronto. Firstly, I was excited for pasta options! It may seem odd, but I do believe the best accompaniment to pizza is pasta. I expected some small box that fits in my palm to be loaded up with the "alfredo" or "marinara"...but I was happily greeted by a well-sized portion that looked freshly cooked and tossed to fit my order. In terms of taste - it was a classic comfort food kind of pasta - nothing in particular to write home about, but definitely a safe choice. Second, the pizza. We went with a custom build which let us throw as many toppings on as we wanted. If you've never been to a place like this, my one recommendation is RESIST the urge to just ask for everything. You normally wouldn't even like everything, so it makes no sense to do that to your pizza. But all the concerns of picking either this or that for your 3-topping special? NOT HERE. You can get both, all three, all four, all five...the options are also super diverse beyond that of a normal pizza place, and even exceeding options at other fast-fired pizza joints I've been to! Lots of cheese, lots of meat, lots of veggies! Think about what kind of pizza you normally enjoy, and then go for the deluxe version of that - basically can't go wrong. The service was pretty quick and friendly and they rang me through speedily. I would skip on the drinks and just ask for water, that seemed to be more cost-effective and with an unusually-full topping pizza, hydration is important. And don't let those leftover slices go to waste! Take it with you in the takeout boxes available! One down side is that even dining in the cutlery is all disposable, but I guess they've got probably an even split of take-out and dine-in. Another downer is the lack of parking space - the side streets do allow for street parking, or if you're a McMaster student take the bus! Despite all these points, I'll be back! read more

This pizza is nothing alike to any delivery, with an abundance of fresh ingrediants and the option to customize your pizza with unlimited toppings for $12.95! DoughBox isn't for a quick takeaway, but definitley a filling and large sized sit down meal; plus leftovers for the next day. My friend and I both got unlimited topping pizzas which was amazing. Theres no limitation on the wide demographic of toppings they have to offer; from classics like tomato sauce, pepperoni, and mushroom, to their more artisanal options like salami, arugula, and pancetta. I would say that 95% of their toppings are fresh, but I was pretty dissappinted to see canned mushrooms and pineapple thrown onto my pizza. There's enough topping options that everyone can find something they'll enjoy. And if you're not up for the effort associated with choosing all your toppings, there are a number of preset specials, as well as pastas salads. The new interior is big with lots of seating, and the ordering system is super efficient. With such a wide variety to choose from, you really can't go wrong with the quality offers. Came here on opening day when they had the free pizza/ pasta special for posting on social media! It is very much like a subway/burrito place deal where you pick your base then pick your sauces and toppings. There is a wide selection of sauces ranging from spicy to creamy, I decided to go with a white sauce which to my surprise wasn't as overly creamy as I would have expected but it still tasted good. The cheese selection is also very amazing especially when they had goat cheese I settled on having spinach and bacon on a goat cheese and Alfredo sauce pizza As mentioned it wasn't overly creamy but it was still good My friend had gotten the spicy buffalo sauce which was pretty good (it reminded me of eating chicken wings on a pizza) Overall a nice place for a more luxurious pizza without having to go to a super fancy place read more

Owner just nailed it for the taste but I feel like I have been fooled from this store or Brand or Owner. Earlier taste was perfect. I could feel the quality taste. Recently, I fall sick a couple of times after having pizza from the particular store. My head clawing with a bunch of thoughts about quality which was unacceptable for me on the first impression. I did my own research and found Woodstock Dough box is using local items which are cheaper than the others. I double-check with the brand, and they told us as they have an internal ordering system and using branded items from the particular supplier, which really made me think. Rather, I complained to them, thought to find out more of it. I was hanging around to find robust conclusion of my doubts and came to know this store owner is using local items which are cheaper in cost. (Source: Garbage) My open suggestion to go and check if you can asap. I got skin issues using their toilet liquid. Take a sample at home and try 4-5 times, you will get to know how cheap items this store is using for their customers. Note for the Owner: If someone is not interested, do not drag conversation long. You talk ALOT. There is a sign if someone is not interested, dont just pick a topic and start nonsense. I been born and brought up in Woodstock and you keep telling same story all the time. "You been in wood stock since 14 years and so on.." If you really think you immigrate to nice country and got citizenship, respect the people and country. I was "banned" from Dough Box!!! The website was not working so I preordered on the phone. I was told to come down to the restaurant in 15 minutes to pick up my order. When I arrived, my order had not been started. I paid and was told to return in another 15 minutes. I did so, but when I returned, my order was again not even started. Almost an hour later, my three pizzas were ready. When I complained about the slow service and pointed out that my family would now not even get to eat these pizzas before they left for their evening activities, I was told by the female employee on site that I was being "disrespectful", that "this is why we don't take phone orders", and that I was "banned" from Dough Box!! I'm not sure how a legitimate complaint, made without raising my voice, swearing etc. leads to being "banned" or even what this means. Perhaps a "wanted" poster will be posted in the window? I was also told that I needed to "grow up". Wow - banning me is not necessary - I will certainly not be back! Reading other reviews, it is clear that I'm not the only person this employee has "banned" from the site for expressing dissatisfaction with the very, very poor customer service. read more

Went here because friends wanted to try it, but I am gluten and dairy free. After interrogating a very helpful man about what might be possible I ordered gluten free pasta with veggies and pesto sauce. The pasta was not quite cooked, gf has to be well cooked, this al dente doesnt work so well.and there was no pesto sauce. There was some kind of microscopically chopped green or black specks and some veggies. The Marguerite pizza was good but the cheese was only in spots. The linguinea is edible. read more

Doughbox is a long overdue wood fired pizza place in the neighbourhood a little west of McMaster University. I tried the Twisted Club pizza, which has parmesan basil pesto, grilled chicken, pancetta, mozzarella, topped with wild arugula, fresh avocado, tomatoes, and lemon pepper mayo. Although it was great to finally see a decent wood fired pizza place, the pizza tasted okay. The dough was good but the chunks of avocado were a bit hard. Overall taste was a bit bland. They didn't seem to have proper plates and cutlery yet so the pizza came out on a paper plate. They just opened early this month so they probably need time to fine tune their operation. read more

I tried it out as I was intrigued by the wood burning oven they use for pizza. The dough is very good, nice char, very light and crispy. I don't think it's a super long fermentation process they use for the dough as it didn't have those yeasty developed flavours you'd see in other legit pizza places that take 3 days or more to make their dough, it was however a step above anything else you can get in the area. I got the wild pepperoni. Nice and spicy, however I was disappointed in their tomato sauce, it was very acidic, reminded me of little Caesars pizza sauce. It's a shame, such a quality pizza should use only the best ingredients. Even if they were to use some tomato passata with some basil it would be better. Despite all this, it's still a step above pretty much most chains and delivery places within a 20 minute drive or more. read more

Tasty pizza, sadly no takeout yet , but simply put, the best pizza you're going to find in Hamilton, 15$ for unlimited toppings. Try the Bianca or the twisted club. Some of the cooks shake the pizza pan before it goes in the over and they lose a bunch of the toppings, so make sure to double check they have more than enough toppings on there. read more
