I've seen quite a few dough locations over the years but never made it in. After being on my feet for quite a few hours and walking by, it seemed like the perfect afternoon pick me up! Happened to be a Sunday around maybe 3 and there were still a good amount of options for donut flavors. I'm not big on specialty so split a plain glazed with one other person. These donuts are very big! They were a tad more expensive than I expected but still within the normal range for the city. It was soft and pretty dense despite it looking airy. This was the perfect first stop after my friend ran a marathon nearby at Prospect Park. The donuts are fresh and delicious and there are a lot of flavors to choose from. The server was very friendly and offered a lot of suggestions. we shared the original glazed, Boston cream, Dubai chocolate, strawberry, Nutella, and Dulce de Leche. Though all of them were delicious, the Nutella was our favorite- it was the perfect serving of Nutella and we all enjoyed the sprinkle of powdered sugar on top. There are only like two tables to sit inside, so I recommend grabbing it and finding a nice spot outside. The donuts are huge and my group of four couldn't finish the six we ordered so we had leftovers for breakfast the following day. Very pleased with my Vegan donuts that I grabbed from here. I love that they even have Vegan options. The only options that they have so far are plain glaze and cinnamon sugar. But I'm hopeful that there will be more vegan flavors in the near future. **crosses fingers** You can't really tell that there were alternative ingredients used in both of the donuts. I got a hint of something citrusy or sour-like every now and then but I feel like if you're used to having vegan sweet treats then you know it's whatever they used as their egg alternative. It wasn't off putting at all! I really did enjoy both donuts. Something that was a plus for me is that both weren't overly sweet. It was the perfection level of sweetness... one that you don't have to be guilty about. I wanted to try the other donuts but I was past my dairy intake levels already. Whenever I don't have too much dairy in my week, I'll definitely be back to try out the other flavors. I should add that I'm not vegan but I enjoy vegan desserts and pastries because I do have a dairy intolerance. More of an acne issue rather than a stomach issue. Best doughnuts ever. Have been going to the fort Greene location and missed it dearly when it closed few years ago so I am glad to know they opened a new Brooklyn location. We rolled by to window shop. I didn't want to have a doughnut--self-denial. When I went in, we encountered just about the loveliest person behind the counter (Thursday 10/2). He was friendly and generous with his time. He asked if we wanted to know the bestseller or his favorite. We asked for his favorite, which is the blueberry lemon doughnut. Wow! Nothing much to say about Dough: now a Brooklyn institution, they recently opened a new store on Vanderbilt Ave. in Prospect Heights. Their menu feature their all year-round flavors such as plain glazed, hibiscus, dulce de leche, mocha-almond crunch, nutella, etc... plus seasonal flavors and also vegan options. When I visited the seasonal flavor was the Brooklyn chocolate blackout, which is not currently available on their on-line menu. Unfortunately at 11am it was already sold out. We had the hibiscus, mocha-almond crunch, and the red velvet cheesecake. I'm not a huge fan of doughnuts in general, as the inside is a bit dry for me, the outside often greasy, and the glaze overpowering. These doughnuts, though, were very balanced: the glaze was very rich without being overpowering, and the inside was fluffy[1]. WELCOME BACK TO BROOKLYN!!! However, I don't appreciate that this spot is two blocks away from my house. When it was on Lafayette & Franklin I would go every other month or two...but now that I'll be passing it almost everyday, my waistline is in serious trouble! Great customer service and wonderful creative doughnut assortments. I ordered a cappuccino with almond milk. Yes it was hot and delicious. I wanted to try the Vegan doughnut options so I went for the Vegan Hibiscus donut. It was an internal battle with choosing between the hibiscus or macha cheesecake. When I say delicious and mouth watering I ate it so slow. I wanted to truly savor the moment. There were options to sit inside but I opted for outdoor seating. Anyway, I've been anxious to go to Dough for a while now and finally made it there today. Let's start with the aesthetics of the store, which was very charming. I wish, however, I could say the same for the customer service. I was a bit overwhelmed with all the delicious choices of donuts and started placing my order but was abruptly interrupted by..."How many do you want?" I replied, I'm not sure....and proceeded to place my order (ended up with 4). Anyway, I taste tested all 4 and from my first bite I was in love. I can't believe I've never reviewed this place, it's my absolute favorite donut shop! I first heard about them through smorgasburg although last time I went they weren't there so not sure if they are still a part of the event. The donuts here are delicious and fluffy and changed my entire outlook on what a good donut is. They are a bit pricey ($5-6 last time I went) but the size is worth the price! I just couldn't get him to try something other than strawberry, which they did not have at the time. I, on the other hand, tried the cafe au lait and mango. I preferred the tropical flavor, but would definitely recommend visiting earlier in the day because the options are more limited by mid-afternoon.
