DoughBirds seems a hip and modern oasis in a older main strip of MOAB. There is no seating indoors so plan on donuts to go. The donuts are displayed and you order from the line. The donut selection is robust and ranges from traditional to unique flavors. The cake donuts were perfection. The lemon poppyseed being my favorite. The traditional glaze donut was suppppppppper yeasty. Which would explain the impressive size but the lack luster taste. First things first, the donuts. Donuts ranged from okay to good but not great. The cronut was oily, the Nutella donuts didn't havent Nutella just Chocolate, and most the donuts were closer to old fashion cake donuts then a yeast donut. To me, they aren't worth $3.50 per. Additionally, the layout of the building and how service is ran is terrible. It shouldn't take 15 minutes to get to the checkout line once you have ordered. read more

A real treat in Moab! We stopped in early Saturday to try a mouthwatering salted cronut and divine filled key lime. Wow is all I can say. It is very rare for me to give 5 stars to a small non sit down spot like this but this place is the real deal. Staff are lovely doughnuts in the morning are warm, and although I've seen reviews that say they were too oily I quite like that fatty bite. Although the doughnuts are superb the real winner is the chicken sandwich the chicken is cooked perfectly and not oily at all, and the waffle chips with the sauce are even better. Literally the best donut I have ever eaten! You must come and try this place. The apples were chunks of well flavored apple, not just a jelly. The outside is lightly glazed. We all preferred the cake doughnuts to the raised doughnuts, and lemon pound cake was the favorite. My friend and I stayed in Moab from Tuesday-Thursday. On Tuesday we saw Doughbird on Yelp and were dying to try it out. Unfortunately it didn't open until Thursday. We decided we would go at 7am right when they opened so we could try it out before we left for good. We REALLY wanted to try the spicy chicken sandwich so we were completely ok getting a chicken sandwich and donut at 7am since we wanted to try everything. When we got there though, we discovered they don't sell the chicken sandwich until 11am which was a let down but we weren't surprised. We figured we would go ahead and just get donuts then. We got the Apple cider donut, maple bacon donut and vanilla cronut. The Apple cider and maple bacon donuts weren't very appealing to either of us. They were wayyyy too sweet for our liking. The vanilla cronut was pretty good. A bit greasy but we enjoyed it. We went and hiked canyon lands and then decided we wanted to try that sandwich so badly so we came back around 1:00 pm. The hours are 7am-2pm. When we got there at 1 there was literally ONE donut left. For a strictly donut and chicken sandwich place we were pretty shocked that they ran out of donuts so quickly. Should probably get that worked on. Luckily we had our donuts already so we didn't mind. We both got the medium spicy chicken sandwich and waffle fries. It took 15 mins to get the sandwiches which was a bit long but fine. The sandwiches were good. I was pretty pleased. Good Amount of heat. I don't usually eat coleslaw but this one was good cause it was mainly cabbage just for the crunch. The one big bummer was the PICKLES! Pickles are so important on a spicy chicken sandwich. I was bummed that these were sweeter pickles. I feel if they were regular dill they would have been so much better for the sandwich. I do also wish the sandwich breading itself had a bit more crunch to it. But overall I enjoyed it. Waffle fries were pretty good. Almost reminded me of how Arby's curly fries taste but in waffle fry form. Overall, not a bad visit but not as exciting as we had been hoping for. read more

This may quite possibly be the best donut shop we've been to in Utah. Have a lot of classic flavors even though the donuts themselves often look over the top. I'm always a sucker for the cronuts but also had to dabble in trying the old-fashioned and some of the classics. If you order their Oreo bomb be ready for sugar overload. This was a great surprise to bring home for the kids on our trip to Moab. Do be prepared for higher than normal. We paid around $25 for a dozen donuts. read more
