The State requires each funeral home list their prices publicly, but it's always nice to see the facility and meet the people. The person we met with was very pleasant and professional. We were not given an opportunity to see caskets to 'pick' one, but a quote was worked up using a price range. The facility offers a package for services such as prayer cards, memorial book and such for an additional fee. We were also told if the funeral service is at the funeral home, there is a one hour viewing available before the service at no additional fee, vs. just the viewing, which has it's own fee structure. It's all broken down: preparation, casket, viewing, transport, graveside and so on. There's a lot to know about funerals and I do recommend you pre-plan so you know what to expect. In the end we did not choose Carrier for a couple of reasons. The first is it felt as if we had to pull information out of the person assisting us. For example, we now know the State of NH requires some kind of grave liner. During our discussions it sounded as if a liner was a 'negotiable' item that could be eliminated to save money. It is not. The second is they don't use a 'trust' to hold the money you pre-pay, they sell you an insurance policy for the amount you put down and then each time you add money they add an insurance rider to that policy. Some of the staff here are also insurance brokers. We weren't comfortable with this business practice. Funeral arrangements are much better made with a clear mind instead of during the chaos of grief and loss. I cannot recommend enough that everyone at the very least know what the expenses are and make an effort to have a plan in place to ease that most difficult of life experiences for their loved ones.

This gave us time to pay off the expense and add more services to the contract as we could afford them. We also discussed possible contingencies that may come up in order to prevent any 'surprises' we could avoid. Part of the packet they provided us included lists of other businesses we may need, including event space for collation after services. Cataudella was recommended by a family member. We sat down with a funeral planner to discuss what services were available, understand costs, and learn about burial laws in NH where the cemetery is located. We spent a lot of time with them on our first visit and left without signing a contract. The information provided was discussed with siblings who shared an interest in the planning and we made a second appointment to meet as a group with the funeral planner. Everyone asked their questions, then we all looked over the caskets and urns on display upstairs. There is quite a wide price point to choose from. We had a private, family conversation and then created and signed a contract with our planner. The funeral planner was very good about being sure we were all comfortable with our decisions. Pre-planning was incredibly helpful. Never more so then when we received an unexpected call one winter night from the nursing home saying dad had passed. We were in no way expecting that call. Knowing who to call, having plans in place, was an indescribable comfort at a very emotional time. I was able to speak with the person we had been working with and they went to the SNF that same evening to take custody of Dad's remains. Everything worked so well. No scrambling. No stress. Just knowing Dad was in good hands. As part of the pre-planning process, they already had a photo of dad and an obituary we wrote for their website. Our biggest decision was to select a date for viewing from their calendar and deliver Dad's clothes. We arrived a bit early for a private family viewing before extended family and friends arrived. A funeral ceremony was presented by a fraternal organization Dad belonged to and his pastor performed a small ceremony at the end of the viewing. It was our choice to do it all in one place as the burial would be months later. Our funeral planner worked closely with us throughout the process including finding a mortuary to 'hold' the remains until the small cemetery where Dad's plot was located opened in the Spring. A possibility we let them know of in advance. Come Spring, we worked with the funeral home when the cemetery opened and they made all the arrangements for burial. We just showed up and had a private burial. They arranged a military ceremony graveside and to have a military plaque installed at the grave. From beginning to end, our experience with this funeral home has been excellent. Pre-planning took the stress out of the process. Other items to know: Private parking lot, clean restrooms, private consultation rooms on ground floor, water fountain in lobby, large and small viewing room on ground floor, response times from office staff was good.

Kevin Comeau was extremely accommodating and a tremendous comfort during a very difficult time. He made the numerous decisions ahead of me very easy to navigate through. Before I knew it we had the frame work of honoring my Dad all laid out. The rest of his staff couldn't have been kinder to our Family throughout the course of our arrangements. Professionalism personified from start to finish. Having made most of the arrangements in advance I was told all I needed to do was pick up the phone when the time came. That phone call was met with a nearly immediate response with kindness and respect. It put into motion a wave of compassion and kind respect for my Dad and our Family. The Funeral Home we used for the rest of our Family has changed hands and left us disappointed. No such disappointments here. The home itself is a beautifully preserved old home that accommodated our needs perfectly. In conclusion I am very pleased with the service we received and will not hesitate for one second to use this Service again. This review represents reflections on what was a very sad turn of events for my Family. Making Funeral arrangements for someone you love is never easy but you can expect gentle, professional care if you make the right choice to come here. We were treated like Family and I have no doubt that you will be too.

They were patient and helpful to him during the process. We heartily appreciated this gift. When you are grieving, all the small details that have to be addressed can be mentally exhausting. The owners here were very respectful and truly went out of their way to make us feel at ease with the process. This has been an excellent experience for us and makes us realize it would have been best to have already put a headstone at the grave site when the plot was purchased, before illness set in, before it was needed, before grief made it so much more difficult. As with any business, people are not perfect. They have a lot they are juggling and they are dealing with grieving clients. We took it upon ourselves to follow up on things because we wanted to be sure they were taken care of. We would call them and let them know when we would be available to stop by so they were ready for us and so on. They also called dad to keep him updated on the process. They dug the hole at the grave, and installed the base ahead of time and delivered the stone before the promised date. They did all the coordinating with the cemetery. I can not thank this family enough for the help provided and kindness shown. Thank you.
