Hmmmmm I have mixed experiences with this restaurant. The one comstant in any restaurant is the interior so maybe i will start with that, inside D and K is really nice, its a nice bright inside (okay when you walk in the door it looks dark but you need to go in further to get to the bright part) you can even eat outside, hence the terrace name. the furniture is comfortable and roomy. my absolute favourite part ofthis place isthe bookshelf where you can take a bookaway with you as long as you leave a book in its place! how coolis that! anyway next are the staff. you have to wait so long to get served anything in here! well not all the time, bit the majority of tie this has been my experience, i dont know if its because its so busy or what but i do not think there is any excuse for how slow some of my visits here have been. the chips ( i sound like i eat alot of chips! in my reviews!) anyway you read the menu and expect some nice handcut fancy chipsbut no, you get a fancy cone of deep fried frozen chips instead, very disappointing (althoug i liked the cone!). THe other disappointing food experience i hadin here was their boxty which i ordered for breakfast one time, ugh, yuk yuk! this is not what boxty should be like,it was a rubbery cold pancake thing, not the lovely potato cirlces my nana used to make. still this place is a good location for a coffee and a cake and a chat with a friend. good if you want to spend a good while nattering because you will need that much time jsut to get through the service anyway!

Went to the restaurant atop Harvey Nichols for lunch. They have a great summer special on where you…read moreget 2 courses and a glass of wine for 22 euro. The food is 4 star worthy---I had a great braised lamb shoulder for my main and a really amazing carrot cake for dessert---yeah high end carrot cake, who knew! The desserts in particular were really well presented on these glossy slate boards. I did knock it down 1 star for painfully slow service. For such a high-end place the service was simply not up to par. Sorry but an hour and a half for lunch in a shopping centre is simply too long. To the waiter's credit, he did give us each a free glass of wine and coffee to make up for the delays. Tip---worth a browse through the expensive (alright very expensive) food hall just next to the entrance---some great finds there...

Located at the rear of the centre, it is on the precipice of the Pembroke District, a wonderful setting on a warm summers evening. The cafe sits just beside the main entrance to the upmarket store and is nestled neatly beneath the HN restaurant, all encased in glass. The cafè is surprisingly spacious, yet compact and stylish. The kitchen is visible, something I always favour and the dining area is not cramped but relatively comfortable. They've recently disposed of the meretricious multicoloured chairs and replaced them with sturdier and more comfortable seats, albeit they are a little clinical and insipid. Fortunately the same cannot be said about the food on offer. The menu is fairly extensive ranging from soups and sandwiches to the more fulfilling burger or fish and chips, all with the midis HN touch. Personally, I'd recommend the club sandwich, though at €12.95 one may struggle to find justification in paying such an extortionate amount. Portion over extortion for me, as well as being mammoth in scale, it's fraught with excellent quality ingredients. One of the most important things for me when dining in such a facility as this, is the quality of the coffee and once again it doesn't disappoint. The reason being that they use their own Harvey Nichols beans, subsequently sold in the shop above the cafè adjoining the restaurant, which are superb, even if a little weak for my taste. The staff are wonderfully genial as is the atmosphere. The only thing that sullies this cafè is the price of the food. But remember, this is Harvey Nichols, what did you expect? So I shan't throw stones in this glass house, it's too damn good.

I love having brunch here. I always get the bacon and pancakes and coffee for 8.50€. Once again…read morespace is at a premium. But they do offer patio seating. They serve Java republic coffee which is turning into be my favorite. The servers are always friendly and efficient. The place is consistently packed which is a good sign. I have not had dinner here for a long time. So I cannot comment on that. Will update my review when that happens.

Howards Way has been on the to-do list for a long time... I mean, a VERY long time (since I lived…read morebeside the original one in Rathgar when I was a broke student). More recently the Gra* to try was only heightened by seeing the queues of people patiently waiting to get into the Churchtown branch every Sunday morning as I passed on the way to do the weekly shop. This Sunday we got our chance, plans in the morning had changed which meant we were late leaving the house and were in need of a late lunch, the queue outside the café was small as we passed, I saw our chance and went for it. After only 15 mins we were seated, a comfortable table by the window and menus in hand. The menu has Q written all over it - chicken wings, open sandwiches, steaks.... Seriously... Q all over it! I ordered the all-day breakfast, junior the wings and fries and wifey had a pasta dish. Overall the grub was OK... it was all cooked perfectly and lookd great, it tasted OK too... but that's all, just OK. The quality of the ingredients wasn't what it should have been, it was surprising given how popular the place is. I'm glad we got to try the restaurant but no, won't be returning. *Irish for heart but also means to want passionately
