The cafe is very pretty, with plenty of different art pieces and decor hanging on the walls and cool furniture. It's quite small inside, with maybe a little more than 10 tables. If it's nice, you can also opt to sit on the small patio. It was a bit chilly when we were in the city, so we decided to sit inside. They have a small menu - you get to choose from a few variations of the Irish breakfast, scones, and breakfast sandwiches. My friend and I both got bacon breakfast sandwiches with the hashbrown and split a plain scone with butter and jam. We were both surprised at how large the scone was and were glad we ended up just sharing one. Even between the both of us we couldn't finish it. The breakfast sandwich was rather large as well and very filling - it hit the spot perfectly! We also got lattes which did the trick of waking us right up! The service seemed very rushed and scattered, but honestly we didn't really mind. We got our food very quickly, so we were in a great mood and left with happy bellies. Overall, if you're into cute cafes, good coffee and want to satisfy that Irish breakfast craving... come here!

The Mega Irish breakfast (€9.90) came with 2 over-medium eggs, 2 sausages, 2 slices of bacon, 2 hash browns, 2 black pudding thingies (sorry I'm such an ignorant American...), half a tomato, cup of beans, and 4 slices of toast. Wow. I somehow managed to finish the whole thing, and mega it was. I skipped lunch due to the sheer amount of food. The highlight was the sausage - they were plump, super juicy and very flavorful. The coffee(€2.50) which I always drink black, was also pretty good. The cost was so reasonable given the sheer amount of food. The restaurant itself is pretty artsy (ha), with some nice work on the walls and an eclectic hodge podge of furniture. Definitely check out if you're staying nearby!

I guess you can call me lucky! It was about 3:30 pm so it was pretty dead, only two groups were there when I got there. They have a small outdoor seating area. I haven't been to their other locations but apparently this place is much smaller. It was a pretty good-size - lots of seating. I absolutely loved the decor - super cute! Almost like a rustic-chic feel to it - if I had to put a label on it. They serve lunch here but I came for the coffee. I ordered a Chai Latte - only one size since they didn't have size options on the menu. I sat down & soaked in the cute ambiance. The Chai Latte was a little more spicy than sweet but it was a good combo. It came in a cute little mug too. All in all - I'll be back! At least one time before I leave.

We piled in, all 16 of us for an office lunch last week, the place was busy with a good atmosphere and despite the fact that nearly all the tables were full, our meals came out quickly and correct for all. It's nice when that happens, you aren't worrying about clock-watching and only having so much time before you have to be back in the office. I had the burger as the pulled pork had sold out (gutting); the burger, as with all the mains dishes, was HUGE. I'm a big guy, I like food, I will always clear my plate (because otherwise mommy would be mad... who me? issues?....not at all). I struggled here, I only just finished the mountainous meal served with the slightly too greasy fries... but finish I did.... because I'm a good little boy. Overall it was tasty, not so much so that I'll rant and rave and promise to be back next week... but good enough and I certainly won't object to going back! The restaurant was clean and felt cosy, I liked the bistro tables and seating along the wall. You know what they say about a restaurant's toilets: at Mes Amis café the toilets are so clean you will need sunglasses. I know it's a bit odd to talk about toilets, I never do in reviews come to think of it, but this was amazingly bright, clean, in full functioning order, and the wallpaper even made the place look cosy; not that I was going to stay for long mind you. If there was a Yelp list for cleanest toilets, Mes Amis would be on that list. You probably care more about the food and so did I. I ordered the vegetarian (all-day) breakfast because I was famished and needed a treat, with an americano. Staff was pleasant, discreet and efficient. A hatch at the back lets you peek into the kitchen, which is also usually a good sign. Breakfast did not disappoint nor did it surprise; it was your old traditional Irish breakfast with hash browns, beans, tomatoes, eggs, toast.... the full works. Not particularly sophisticated but done well. Coffee was good from one of those beautiful red and chrome barista coffee machines (was it Gaggia?). There was another bonus: power sockets! It was great to be able to recharge my batteries along with that of my smartphone thanks to the power sockets available around the place. Definitely on my go-to again list for doing a great job of all the basics and providing a cosy space in the middle of the city.

Lo' and behold, a cozy cafe that serves up some very delicious brunch (and coffee/tea)! I came here on two morning occasions to relax at the bar seating overlooking the barge while sipping on an espresso on day 1 and a matcha latte on day 2. Both delicious. To balance out the unbalanced amount of adult beverages from the previous nights, on top of the caffeine kick I ordered the fresh green juice as well. It's a good way to make me think I'm detoxing my body thoroughly. But at least it tastes delicious regardless if its a placebo effect. As for the main dishes, the Scrambled Eggs, Chorizo and Feta with side sausages were so good. Fluffy scrambled eggs and savory chorizo...can't go wrong. Also, the house-made sausages were so tasty too. On the other morning occasion I opted for the Grove Road Benedict and wow so so good! Perfectly poached eggs with the creamy hollandaise sauce and super tender braised beef...sheesh. Delicious. Service was very prompt and the staff were all so warm and friendly. Will definitely come back for a 3rd visit if I'm ever in the area again.

I was seated right way and ordered off their all day menu. I got their Double Baked eggs, brown soda bread, bacon, sausage and roast tomato. For my tastes the double baked eggs were overdone, but that's double baked for you. Everything else was so delicious though that I truly didn't even notice. It was a wonderful pile of meat overflowing out of a little skillet with a stack of soda bread and butter. Truly it was a delight. I also ordered up their irish coffee. This was especially fun because it's not a simple shot of whiskey, coffee and cream. They create a brown sugar syrup blended with the whiskey to cook off the alcohol but retain the flavor. This means you can day drink and not even bat an eye at it being strange. The flavor was delicious and I'll be trying to recreate this at home for sure.
