Received a virtual number and went into the correct room. Short wait and Jenna assisted me. She was friendly and helpful. Guided me through the process. Made it fun. And took a good photo. She also let me know that I could do a walk in to get the title of my car changed. I went to Christine at the front information desk and she gave me a number. Went back to wait and Johanna assisted me. She was in training but all went smoothly. And friendly too. Walked out with all tasks completed. I scheduled an appointment to renew my license, showed up 15 minutes before, checked in, and was told to wait in a room down the hall until called. 30 minutes past my appointment, I went to the front desk to ask if it would be much longer. Turns out they told me to wait in the wrong room and had called my name but I never heard it called since again, I was instructed to wait in the wrong room. I was then told I would have to schedule another appointment for two weeks out, even though my license expires before then, due to their mess up. They were not willing to work with me in any way and the lady at the front desk was very condescending. It was the worst DMV experience I have ever had. read more

Quality is doing it right when no one is looking. One of the easiest and quickiest experience at a government office, particularly the MVD. If you fill the forms online, it is such an expedited process versus any other MVD I had to suffer through. I was applying for a new drivers license and will be back for my new plates. Waited less than 5 minutes and Toni was efficient, welcoming, and just a pleasure to deal with on a Monday mind you. I don't know if it is just Douglas County or Colorado in general, but they never miss a chance to give up smiles and any new resident will feel welcomed. read more

I hate when people hate their jobs - are miserable and not helpful and purposefully make difficult processes even harder. There's no excuse for saying "I don't know who was helping you" when asked about a simple procedure process that has no relevance as far as who was previously helping someone. Closing out an appointment while someone pulls up a document that takes less than 3 minutes to pull up is unacceptable especially when the process to get an appointment is months out AND doesn't outline the additional need for said document. Super disappointed in my experience here, typically I have great experiences in Castle Rock with any other governmental needs or experiences. Now been here more than an hour and still not helped. Was here on time for my original appointment and had it not been closed out I'd be done by now. read more

Get with the the program Douglas County and provide permits for teens. Absolutely ridiculous that I had to make an appointment in another town and the only appointment is 3 weeks away. Castle Rock has a large population and is continuing to grow, the Castle Rock office needs to be aware and provide needed services to the population that lives here. I am so disappointed! read more

I don't understand the 3 stars. Obviously you have never been to the DMV in California. Where you pack a lunch and spend all day there. And the people are rude!!! Everyone here is super friendly and helpful. Especially Jennifer & Matt in the driver's license department. John in registration was absolutely amazing! TERRIBLE!!!! I would rather have my hemorrhoids removed again rather than visit this DMV. There is absolutely no leadership in this office. The manager would rather hide in her office than come out and speak to a customer that they have misled 5 times. I have been to this office 5 times to register a one owner, original titled vehicle from 1965. I literally could not give them a simpler task. I was a walk in for a name change on my license. When it was my turn I was told I also needed a physical copy of my marriage certificate, I only had a picture of it. I live 6 minutes away, I was told I could go home and grab it and come right back. So I did, when I got back I was told they stopped walk ins. I explained to the lady that I was just in and was told I could go get my certificate. So she went in a spoke to the lady that was helping me (Patricia) and she said no, for me to come back another day. Why would they tell me to go get my paperwork and come right back. Very friendly customer service. I would give them 5 star alone, however, they simply need a better system for queue management. While I understand other states (read California) and even other counties in Colorado have a longer wait on average, the queue management system simply causes more confusion at times and should at least give the customer a recommended wait time (or possibly even notifications so they don't have to sit in the lobby). But, again the customer service here is well above average so it makes it bearable. read more

What a wonderful experience! Being from Cali where this takes hours and hours at the DMV, this DMV is a cake walk! I love that they have check-in station that walk you through the steps by following the screen and then you wait until you are called. This is good to know, because I was a little confused at first and sat down for a good 20 minutes before getting the memo to check in at the station. Totally my fault. Once I was called it went really quick and the staff was professional and friendly. My picture is still awful! Hahaha! Once again my fault, not theirs! Tip: Kiosks don't allow you to register for your number until 8:00 but get there early to get in line. Kim in the registration department made my transfer of plates a breeze! Fast service, pleasant experience and clean facility here. Parking can be a bit limited so go west past the building to find a large overflow lot. read more

I would give this place a 0 if I could! I know that the DMV is never very much fun, but this lady that I dealt with today was a complete jerk! I had called the DMV to find out what I needed to bring to my appointment to transfer my out of state driver's license to a Colorado license. The guy gave me a long list of things to take with me and I took them all. I drove 30 minutes to get to the DMV, I waited for 30 more minutes, and then I had to drive home 30 minutes..... An hour and a 1/2 of my day off wasted!!!! When they finally called my number, the woman did not greet me at all but just asked me what I needed and started naming off all of the documents I needed to give her. She got to one of the documents and I did not have it because the man did not tell me I needed it!! She did not talk about any other options she just said we can't do this without this document. I then went home and got the document but refused to go back to the Castle Rock DMV so I went to the Parker DMV. The experiences were like night and day!! They were kind helpful and quick in Parker!!! They also did not require me to have the document that this crazy woman said I had to have! They asked me if I had been a Colorado resident before and I said yes and that bypassed all of the other documentation except for a couple of pieces. Incompetence drives me nuts!!
