FAST, CLEAN, FRIENDLY If you're in a rush order via phone for pick up. Sandwich was prepared properly. Lettuce and tomato were FRESH!!! Overall good place for a breakfast sandwich.

Fantastic old school deli with best potato salad. Gotta try it to believe it. I also loved coffee

This place is horrible and I can't believe how deceiving the ratings are Pros- the homemade turkey breast is delicious -Bob and the other older guys put in great effort and make very good iced coffee Cons- when the older guys don't work(WHICH SEEMS TO BE EVERY SINGLE AFTERNOON): - The iced coffee is terrible(light and sweet Iced coffee is always bitter and has an inch of sugar sitting at the bottom to crunch while you drink) - Very high prices for iced coffee(like $6?)and low quality sandwiches - Burnt my bread completely and still served it to me - Months later I gave them another try and received a pile of Yellow lettuce on my expensive sandwich - Ordered two of the same drink and received two completely different looking drinks Overall, other than walking in and confirming that you will be served by Bob or one of the other older guys; I would find a different deli

Great classic new york deli. If you have a craving for a cold cut sandwich, why go anywhere else. They also have large coolers of homemade teas and lemonades. Potato salad is a great side for your meal. They have a great selection of cold cuts. Anytime you have a craving stop by, the staff is friendly and helpful

Can you spare some turkey on my $10 sandwich??

This is my neighborhood deli and I keep going back 2x/yr in the hope of a decent experience. Yes, they have good potato salad, yes, they have good crumb cake, but so do ALL deli's. A good deli makes reliably good sandwiches that make your mouth water when you drive by. My experience is that the Douglaston deli sandwiches either have too much salt or are lacking in the ingredients (I now ask purposely for no salt). Today I ordered one of their 'special' sandwiches, a turkey with avocado, onion, lettuce, and tomato. Add in a bag of chips (2 items) and it was about $16!! Ok, a good sandwich is worth it. I get home open it up and I was so disappointed, very disappointed. Barely no turkey (1/4 inch at its thickest), avocado on each half of the sandwich was about three thumbnail size pieces!! And the roll was a bit stale and crusty. I was so angry, and threw half of it away, and then had to floss and brush my teeth to get the flavor out of my mouth. And also, all day since eating it I have had gas attacks. This place may have had its day, maybe the costs of ingredients and rents mean they have to over charge, OK, but why is the sandwich quality so poor and inconsistent?? Stay away from this place unless you need some milk, some twinkies, some potato salad, and some crumb cake, everything else you can get at the grocery store more cheaply and without the pain to your wallet and your gastrointestinal system. Please guys, your our neighborhood deli, where's the beef, where is the service, the quality control???

Best deli around and a gem to have nearby. Sure it's not cheap but neither is running a top notch deli with quality staff. Yum.

Maybe add a German potato salad (I prefer it to the ordinary kind).

Pastrami is my go to order and I always ask for the double Pastrami so the sandwich is as big as Katz deli. Unlike Katzs deli Pastrami. BEN'S PASTRAMI DOESN'T have All that Fat!!! I was lucky enough to finally have Sultana as a waitress again, she's so personable and Amazing with such awesome customer service skills. Sultana is also the ONLY Waiter there who when I asked for a well done knish, I Got a Well done Knish!! Other wait staff here are also good, but Sultana is always a step above everyone. Manager Jay is another Great addition he knows how to deal with the sometimes demanding clientele that comes here. Jay's smile shines bright despite what situations he's dealing with. Sultana, Jay and Awesome food are the reasons that BEN'S Deli will Always Strive.

The amount of the charge was reduced - the pastrami was taken off the bill. And You didn't pay extra for extra lean as extra lean was not ordered . (I retrieved a copy of your order)- but we gave you your money back anyway. Please check your bills . Thanks This is the response I got from owner that made no apologies for me having to drive back to the store to get my credit because it wasn't done to my credit card like being told by a rude person on the phone The owner also didn't bring up the fact that what ever his staff did or the quality of the food is mediocre. Your establishment was great and now it sucks Make it better!!!!!

Pickles were spears in a breading that was crisp and tasty - these are so good and sho I love be added to the permanent menu. Tbh whenever I see fried pickles, I always order them. I also ordered the Classic Throwback: #6 ( description copied straight from their website) - Grilled chicken, grilled asparagus, shaved parmesan cheese, fresh lemon, extra virgin olive oil and roasted garlic mayo served on ciabatta bread $17.67 - the perfect sandwich , so full of flavor, chicken grilled to perfection. I could only eat half while at the resto. Hours later I ate the other half and I and it cold and it was still perfectly delicious. I even tasted more of the flavors this time around. The bread used for the sandwich , just so good. This has become a new favorite and I will definitely be revisiting! Also, please add this sandwich to your everyday menu. Thank you in advance. As a side, everyone was super nice and welcoming and attentive to our needs TY!!!!

It's been six years since I last came here. The food is still pretty good and the service was…read morefriendly, but overall I found the sandwiches a bit overpriced. The menu has very detailed, almost elevated descriptions that make everything sound spectacular, but in practice the flavors don't quite come through, especially the sauces, which are barely noticeable. Our server was flexible when we asked to swap the potato chips for fries on the kids' grilled cheese meal, which we appreciated. However, we were then charged $1.40 for a side of ranch for the fries. I understand they have a range of specialty sauces and dips that are clearly priced on the menu, but that still felt steep for ranch. They also offer a combo option to add fries for $5, but the portion doesn't really feel aligned with the price. The steak sandwich itself was surprisingly tender, even though it looked like it might be tough. That said, I couldn't taste the roasted red pepper sauce, and the "sweet onion jam" turned out to just be caramelized onions. My mother actually ended up picking them out because she doesn't eat onions. (she won't eat onions that she can see) The buffalo cauliflower was tasty, but could have been crispier. The "serves two" description also felt a bit generous given the small portion. I also ordered a brisket sandwich to go with fries. The coleslaw sounded great on the menu, but in reality the flavors didn't stand out, no real hint of jalapeño, just a fairly standard slaw. Overall, the food descriptions felt more impressive than the actual execution, though the to-go fries portion was more generous, which was a nice surprise. Would I go back? I'm not sure. Maybe for a casual visit with a few beers and fries with an assortment of dipping sauces...I am a sucker for those.
